If Allen isn't the guy, Beane won't be around to pick again.  He traded a starting LT and multiple picks for Allen. His career is in Allen's hands.

Good thing he didn't trade Shaq Lawson and multiple picks for Allen.  It's bad enough he didn't pick up Lawson's 5th year option, despite having done NOTHING in the last 3 seasons to deserve having it picked up.

Yep Reason I send this package.

McCoy - Last year of his deal. He is gone next year anyway. Singletary proved enough this camp that he will be fine as a rookie so I have no issue going with him as the top Back and Gore as his handcuff

Zay - he is redundant on this roster at this point. I was going to toss Foster (and Texans May want Foster instead) but Zay has topped out. He is what he is. Foster there still is some growth there.

The 4th - because This will get upgraded to a 3rd coming back to the Bills IF Clowney doesn’t re-sign and hits UFA and some team signs him to that mega deal via Compensatory.

Clowney can be a ROLE PLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Trading up in the top 10 for a TE is insanity.  We already made that mistake with a certain WR.  Let's just wait and see whether Olver or Hoch has a better career and not speculate off of a preseason game.

True.  Except, Hockenson was viewed as the next Gronkowski.  Fans would have been thrilled to trade up in the top 10 for a TE, if there was a guarantee that he'd have a career like Gronk did.

If he does become a star we can take solace in the fact that he didn't fall to us.

If he does become a star, fans and the local media (especially Howard Simon who wrote an entire article, where he said he wanted no one else at 9 but Hockenson) will be saying that Beane should have traded up for him, and that he could have gotten a DT in rounds 3 or 4.

They could have drafted Mahomes or Watson at #10 in 2017 but they traded back and drafted someone else.  They took Peterman in the fifth round.   Do you want to argue that Peterman was a good choice, even in the fifth round?   Hell, any kid who could play ST decently would have been a better pick than Peterman, especially since they intended to go with 2 QBs.

I was thinking more about his accuracy and related issues such as footwork.

What makes you think Mahomes or Watson would have had the same level of success if they came here, instead of KC and Houston?

As unfortunate as it is, many posters take that same level of invested emotional overreaction to the forums.

Please don't take this personally, but I've never understood anyone that would let the performance of the team, no matter how poor, affect their personal lives or interactions with others, particularly family members.  I've read a number of poeple post the same thing tho.  I applaud you for recognizing that and for stepping back in life.  Sports should be for a positive emotional experience.  If that doesn't occur, I simply wait until it does.  I don't go to games anymore and until further notice.  I cancelled my seasons years ago accompanied with a letter that told the team that when they got serious about building a winner I'd start buying tickets again. Hasn't happened as of yet and I don't believe anything they tell me anymore.  Every year we're on the cusp of a major turnaround, no different this year.

Some people let gamedays entirely ruin their Sundays, for the life of me I cannot even remotely fathom that other than being irritated that they wasted four hours of their day, longer if they went to the game, and perhaps a some money, on something that aggravates them.

But again, that same emotional lack of control shows up here to disallow any ratioinal discussion of the team, coaches, methodologies, etc.

Case in point, some people react to my posts as others would to an armed robbery of their home.  LOL

I don't see a downside here. A big part of what they need to do with this squad of so many new FA's and rookies coming in, is build up the "team" component in a hurry--what better way than with a letting loose sort of fun event for the guys to all feel good about? There will still be plenty of time for the x's and o's outside of this one practice session. This is what "process" looks like people! :D

Not according to Mr. WEO (or ScottLaw).  To him, this is what mediocrity, softness and ill-prepared for competition looks like, and why the Patriots continue to dominate the division year after year after year.

Or.... Imagine getting Clowney for a mid-late 2nd round pick and a player we probably are just going to lose next year in return for 10+ sacks per year for the next 5+ years and adding him to an already awesome looking (on paper) d-line.  Not saying he does one way or another, but have to contemplate amazing upside is there as well.

Not to mention, having a respectable pass rush helps all levels on the D.

1.) Why in God's name would Houston accept only a 2nd round pick and bringing in Shaq Lawson, who has done less than nothing, to replace a former 1st overall pick like Clowney?

2.) Clowney has been in the league since 2014 and has never gotten to 10 sacks in a season.  By comparison, Mario had already exceeded 10 sacks twice before coming to Buffalo (in 2007 and 2008) and came close to 10 sacks again in 2009.

More big plays from DL against Brady in that video than the Bills have had in the last decade.

Also a lot of examples of his impact coming from between the tackles........imagine a 3rd down pass rush group with Clowney and Oliver in the middle.

Imagine giving Houston what could very well be a high 1st or 2nd round pick in 2020, while also watching Clowney turn into another Lazy Mario, once he gets his 100+ million contract.
