I expect the Titans to be pretty bad this year and with a new coaching staff they aren't tied down to any player on the roster. So genuinely I think Hopkins will be one of the big names moved at the deadline. It's the last year of his contract and they need draft capital more than they need 8 extra games out of him in a transition year.

why wouldn’t they just pull that band aid off now and trade him before the season?   I realize it is possible to make a better deal at that time with a more desperate team as opposed to the summer but that is a big if.   I would rather move on and get a guy on the team that can develop with the young QB.

I believe Burrow played in that game.   I think got hurt the following week.

He's exactly what I expected at where we drafted him in the first.  It's the Basham pick that still infuriates me.  They double down on DE but I guess WR is off limits.

That pick also bothers me a lot.  Especially when Creed Humphrey was available.   Sometimes I think Beane only outsmarts himself.

The Cody Ford over DK is right up there too.

I don't think either of things are necessarily true, but certainly not the 2nd.  You don't get a team's 2nd round draft pick for nothing.

True.  A second round is not nothing and the Texans wanted Diggs so Beane had something to work with, but he had his back to the wall to get something done.  I’m sure he had to compromise more than he would have liked.

The consensus on this board was the the Bills got fleeced.   I think Beane did well despite the position he was in.

  5. I’m at peace with this trade.

It is clear Diggs wanted out.  Beane had no leverage and probably did the best he could.

I like the Vikings but now I have to hope they go 0 - 17.

Upside though is no more cryptic tweet threads.

Why?  He has been all potential to this point.  He is always battling an injury also.

I was interested in the bills trading for him last year to help the pass rush and now I am really glad they did not.  He really didn't do much in SF.   Washington must love having that extra 3rd this year.

He could only manage to get 3.5 sacks in 12 games in SF playing opposite of Nick Bosa.

I have no idea why anyone would pay a premium for sacks to a pass rusher who does not get sacks.

Stop using critical thinking during FA season!

I didn’t think they had much choice. Two seasons in a row lost to injury and no real sense that he’d be back to 100% this season.

Agree.  But I meant more generally with respect to the purge today.
