The OL is the weakest link in the team. JA was pressured 33% of the time he passed, 4th worst in the league. And the line had monumental breakdowns in clutch moments late in the season and in the playoff game.

Don't think Trent Williams is the answer though.

But those #s are inflated. Josh Allen holds onto the ball longer then any normal QB. It’s an area he needs to work on. Our OLine is better then it’s been in years. And another season together will only make that more so. Josh Allen gets pressured more because he runs a lot and he holds onto the ball when he doesn’t or he leaves the pocket before he has to. So that 33% is a reflection of Allen more so the Oline

I must say ...Beane does a great job; but he was just average in this draft . No way we shouldn't have come out without Johnathan taylor, Kyle duggar, Jeremy chin, kj hamler....or jk dobbins.....

Indy, New England, Baltimore traded up and all over the board.......one if not both of these teams will be in the afc championship game because of it......when you have control of the division....you got to go for it....and step on your foes throats.....

espinenza and moss will never be hall of famers.......

    taylor, duggar, chinn might .....

    just my two cents......

We got the steal of the draft. And you want us to waste capital in a year where it’s needed to add a couple finishing touches. Epenesa has the potential to be great. Just read an article that compared him to JJ Watt. And have you watched anything on Moss? Him and Singletary will be a great duo. But you want us to waste picks on a safety when we already have one of the best tandems in the NFL. And Already have a BIG nickel. But I guess that’s why you aren’t are GM.

  3. I agree. We are taking for granted that the Bills defense is Elite. And I’ve been saying if Josh Allen can put a complete game together no one can beat us. But when is that going to happen. Because he isn’t even given the confidence to start a game to come out throwing. They need to give him confidence by running early short plays easy passes. This defense can only carry us so far. Now I believe the Bills finally are on the right path. Great coach, manager, and it has resulted into a well drafted team. And I have faith in our management but Josh Allen who I think has the potential and the heart to become great needs to do it next year or he needs to go cause Daboll bothers me but I think he doesn’t have confidence in Josh Allen but Daboll is very predictable and McDermott is now scared to throw a challenge flag when I’m the beginning he used to waste them. Twice in key situations it was a clear miscall and he didn’t throw it

  4. I agree. I was literally coming on here to post about how Daboll seems like a great “Coach” but his game calling just isn’t there. He refuses the same plays within minutes of each other. He doesn’t get Josh Allen a young QB in a rhythm to begin the game. He needs to have short quick reads for Allen to start off a game to get him confidence and in the game. Running the game for the first 8 plays or whatever it was is not going to get our young QB involved or confident to lead the team down the field when it matters. McDermott needs to work on his game day as well though. And I am all for McDermott and Beane. I think they are building something special. But McDermott is now being to scared to throw the challenge flag when before he used to throw it at horrible times. The pass interference when he didn’t throw it the other week and then last night not challenging that spot and just letting them continue down the field when we end up not even using our 3 first half timeouts is not a smart choice. But Daboll needs to get better or Josh is going to continue to struggle late in games

  5. Pick it up. I think he realized a lot last year. He switched his diet and became more committed. I think he was young and arrogant. He got through most of his football career through pure athleticism. In the NFL it also takes hard work and determination which I believe he has now realized. I don’t think he will be worth the pick he was drafted but I do believe he will be out Murphy for a starting spot

IF they are not sure that either is a sure fire pro bowl guy, then trade down and get additional shots at such a guy at a different position.

I’m okay with that as well. But Williams has dominated every given chance. I’d prefer they stayed at 9 or drafted back but if they have a chance to get Williams who is arguably the best player in the draft and fill a hole it’s a huge win

I could be wrong, but this is just what I believe based on the additions I expect Beane to make in the WR room.  I have no issues if others don't agree, just my opinion on the matter, nothing more.

I have consistently said this all off season, and McDermott just said something again that enforces that belief.  I think they see how the Rams cleared out their WR room and so did the Bears and in both cases their young QB's took big strides as passers.  Eagles did the same for Wentz too.

"We're looking for guys that can get open and catch the ball."  Yes, that is an obvious trait for any WR, but also its telling that he and Beane keep making these comments given the struggles all year, including Zay, to do these very basic things.

I think the WR room will be crowded once free agency and the draft is over (likely 2 to 3 additions) and Zay is going to be someone who has to really impress in camp to make this roster.   Right now, there is not one part of being a wide receiver that Zay does particularly well outside of his reported good work ethic.

    1. Hands:  Struggles catching the ball.  Makes easy catches look hard and drops too many passes.
    2. Separation:  Has struggled to get separation, especially playing on the outside.
    3. Route Running:  Part of his issue with getting separation is his inconsistent route running.
    4. Speed:  He has average speed.  He is fast enough to play in the league, but to be consistent with his speed he needs to be a good route runner.
    5. Physicality:  He is easily man handled by physical corners.  Games like the Lions and Pats this year he was dominated physically for example.
    6. Contested Catches:  One of the weakest part of his game.
    7. Catch Radius:  Very limited mostly due to his inconsistent hands and lack of physicality.

Foster:  Penciled in as a projected #2 WR.  However, if we bring in a potential starter in FA and also draft one early, then Foster is no lock for #2 and could be used more out of the slot or as a deep threat.  Additionally, if we draft say Metcalf or make a splashy trade for someone like Brown (less likely), then Duke could make a real challenge for #2 as a big catch radius compliment to a #1 who poses a real deep threat opposite him.

Duke:  He has to prove himself in the NFL, I get that.  But if we take an honest assessment of him, his issues were never talent related.  He isn't a speed burner, but he has a big catch radius, runs good routes, and has great hands.  He could legit compete for the #2 opposite a big play #1.  Even if not a #2, its more than reasonable he has a legit shot to make this team and compete for minutes.

Zay:  Best suited for the slot, however his lack of consistent hands and his issues with separation make his spot there vulnerable.  If our top 2 WR's this next season dont include Foster, then I can easily see Foster challenging to play in the slot, and he already has surpassed Zay.

We are adding at least 2 additonal WR's (and maybe 3) this offseason expected to start or compete to start to go along with the 3 guys already here.  With McD and Beanes consistent comments about getting open and catching the ball, I think Zay is in trouble and will be a training camp or preseason trade for a 4th round or conditional 5th round pick.

Ridiculous Zay Jones has been said by McDermott as one of the hardest working players on the team. Which means he will only get better. His work ethic will keep him from getting cut and he will be a lot better. Most receivers struggle for the first 2 years and shine in their third 3. There has been a few receivers in the last few years who have come in and been great right away but usually receivers take 3 years to adjust. Jones will benefit from his work ethic and the addition of the FAs and our WR Corp will be decent this year

C'mon - That's obviously photo-shopped.   Something similar happened last year with an "OJ photo".   Slow time of year for "Buffalo Rumblings", so they need click bait.

I dunno if you look there is an imprint on OJs suit where Poyers shoulder is pushing up against it. Dunno why it’s a big deal. OJ ain’t ***** no more and was hanging out with the girls in the box. I wouldn’t wanna pic with em

I agree with all that, but drafting 10 guys when most of those picks are late round picks is not prudent. Those six and seven rounders are not going to be significantly better than undrafted free agents. Those picks are more valuable used as capital to move back into rounds two and three.

Yeah tell the patriots that 6th round picks don’t matter

I agree.  Don’t mess around.  Get TJ and don’t look back.

I agree but there hasn’t been a great tight end drafted in the first round in a long time they’ve all been average. The best ones have been drafted later in the draft

I don’t understand the trade scenario, they need less picks not more. After taking DT or OT at nine package some picks and move up.

Since when does someone need less picks? Great teams are built from within. All these free agents are hopefully only stop gap players until our own drafted players come into their own and can take their jobs. A team that can draft and develop well, is a team that can have longevity. If you have to spend all your money every year on free agents you will never be able to build a great team.

In Buffalo we have had our fair share of phenomenal RB’s.  So, think league wide who was the best ever?  I would have to vote for Barry Sanders.  The guy really had no other real help in his career.  It is simply amazing to see some of the moves he could make.  Take a look at his highlights then tell the rest of us who has your vote.

I’d vote Barry as well. A true savage with no supporting cast and stacked boxes consistently

.....In 1989, Jimmy Johnson, having just drafted Troy Aikman, 1/1, used what ended up being his 1990 first round draft pick in the 1989 Supplemental draft on QB Steve Walsh from the U.  Some of you may remember Walsh was a big time college QB at the time.  Johnson, when asked why he had done this said that QB was too important to get wrong.  He needed to make sure he had one.  No one really remembers much about it because Aikman won that competition, went on to win 3 Super Bowls...and Walsh was traded to the Saints for draft picks.  ....keep that in mind....

As much as many of you have cherry picked the stats to pieces and conjured up every possible scenario to hide the blight of Josh Allens horrendous 52% completion PCT....the fact is, as exciting and athlietic as he is...Josh Allen is still a major question mark to everyone outside western New York (yes Bills fans...where you see a an ascending future MVP QB, the rest of the country sees a gifted athlete who isn't a good thrower)

Rosen is cheap.  He can be had for a 2nd round draft pick.

While the Bills certainly still have plenty of spots to fill and could use that 2nd to do that....what if you had Rosen on hand in case Josh Allen can't get that Comp % up above 55?  What if you had the next blue chip prospect already on your roster and under contract if it turns out you've rebuilt the roster, have all this young talent ready to go, and your QB turns out to be a bust?  You wouldn't need to rebuild again...you'd have Rosen ready to go.

You might argure making such a move would damage Allens confidence.  Maybe it would...but Aikman handled Johnson drafting Walsh, manned up and won that battle.  If Allen has the fortitude he's said to posses around here...he'd compete.

If Allen did turn out to be what you all are hoping for, Rosen would remain something of an unknown blue chip prospect that had value and could be traded for something useful next year.

If the object of having a pro football team is to WIN...then getting QB right is worth making this kind of move.  That's why Jimmy did it.  Just something to think about....these kind of situations don't come around often.

I’m sure a lot of people of calling for your head. But honestly there has been numerous occasions in the NFL where a team has taken 2 QBs. I wouldn’t mind it and I’ve heard he might be available for a 3rd. McBeane has been trying to put competition at every position but he’s also said they are set at QB. So I dunno if they’d do it but it would be interesting and odds are one of them will work out

  14. 15 hours ago, Mark92 said:

No because Houston used him all over the line instead of just putting him in the 3 tech where his numbers are crazy.  If the Bills draft him it's so he will become the 3 tech they need.

Unfortunately unless the Jets trade down they are going to get a STUD on their D Line.  Bosa, Williams or Allen.  Boo.

Well the problem with Oliver at Houston they only had a 3 man rush a lot of times. so Oliver was basically playing a nose tackle which yes isn’t his position. But I just don’t like him but he could end up being great. For some reason he just seems to me as someone who doesn’t have a high motor nor a great work ethic. And he has a lot of technical issues to fix so if he does have a horrible work ethic those aren’t going to be fixed
