Vintage picture shows football fans wearing masks during 1918 pandemicFootball game in 1918 at Georgia Tech

I think the real questions we need to ask are:

If walls not being 100% effective classifies them as an outdated technology that we shouldn’t use, are masks 100% effective and if not, should we use them?

Is it sociophobic or racist to wear masks? How do masks make people feel?

  2. Assuming Trump gets re-elected in 2020, will the leftist zombies waste another 4 years of their lives posting their baseless hatred on here? I started visiting this section of TBD for the great coronavirus updates people post, but I probably won’t stick around once this dies down.

I can’t imagine being a useful idiot for the left. You aren’t going to convince any conservatives to switch sides when your arguments have no merit (everything is based on feelings and -isms) and you push partisan investigations that are obvious hoaxes like “Russia!”. Until you actually have a compelling argument in the issues that decide elections, nobody is going to take you seriously or even remotely consider switching to the left.

  3. A lot can happen. They are good enough to win a Super Bowl barring an injury to Allen. It is usually a very thin line separating Super Bowl winners from Wild Card teams. Just look at how close Tennessee was to heading to the big dance. We BEAT Tennessee last year. They ran into a buzzsaw in KC. KC was one of those exceptions where they truly outclassed everyone else, but they were very fortunate from an injury perspective as well. If Tyreek Hill or Kelce is out, I think we can take KC.

I could also see NE taking the division AGAIN! I can’t believe people are writing them off. If NE takes the division then we could miss out on playoffs. McDermott still has to prove he can beat them. If we’ve taken the leap where we sweep the division, then we should definitely be thinking Super Bowl.

There is just something about her that really rubs me the wrong way. I’m not someone who is ardent Democrat or Republican and I have nothing against women in leadership positions (I actually voted Hillary).

I just can’t pinpoint it with her, but every time I hear her talk I get annoyed. Obviously I don’t condone violence, but I can see why she in particular is riling folks up out there. It just seems like more so than other democratic governors she is really using this horrible situation to build up her brand.

Am I wrong for thinking this? To be clear I don’t live in Michigan and don’t really have an opinion on what the right course of action is for her particular state.

Like most Democrats, she comes across as a power hungry sociopath weaponizing “political correctness” to usurp even more power and rights from citizens.

...safe to say that "Floyd The 'Roid" ain't on your Christmas list I presume........

Haha, yeah I just got roped into watching too many awful Floyd “fights” my friends wanted to see. It was always like watching two guys go for a light jog.

What do you think, I run up and hug every person I see on the trail?  Good lord man!  Why are you so obsessed with the mask?  Are you ugly?  I do EXACTLY what every sign on the trail asks me to do. Practice social distancing.  It says nothing about wearing a mask so I don’t. If you’re that bunged up about people wearing a mask while they hike stay home. Because NO ONE is wearing one out there.

Come on man, think of the mosquitoes you may be infecting with COVID.

Pretty funny. I acknowledge he might be lying and it's the only time I'm aware of an accusation against him.

Name one time any Trump supporter here has once acknowledged Trump had lied, even though there are multiple confirmed lies by him in regards to the virus.

Why aren't you outraged by this?

    When: Thursday, March 12
The claim: All U.S. citizens arriving from Europe would be subject to medical screening, COVID-19 testing, and quarantine if necessary. “If an American is coming back or anybody is coming back, we’re testing,” Trump said. “We have a tremendous testing setup where people coming in have to be tested … We’re not putting them on planes if it shows positive, but if they do come here, we’re quarantining.”
The truth: Testing is already severely limited in the United States. It is not true that all Americans returning to the country are being tested, nor that anyone is being forced to quarantine, CNN has reported.

Wasn’t March 12 the day he instituted the European travel ban? The same ban that saved countless lives and was OPPOSED by the left?

i dont understand, outside of the beuracratic mess, why is there not a middle ground..high risk people stay home and shelter, the rest of us go about our business. The overall cost has to be much less even with the fraud that would occur..

what actions? Please explain what actions you have issues with?

That is what I don’t get. Retired folks can lock up if they want to and collect social security. Why do we still have to act like this is fatal for everyone?

  9. They cheat and that makes them a tough opponent regardless of their roster. They’ve also basically been allowed to hold as much as they want without getting called. It will be interesting to see if that was done by the refs to protect Brady (now that he’s gone) or if that tradition continues. When you don’t play under the same rules, the team can be competitive.

A friend of mine is a native from Senegal and he told me that the infection rate is rather low there.  Generally, the population takes it weekly so he attributes it to that.

It could be or it could also be that it's hot and humid as ***** in Senegal.

Yeah, with summer around the corner hopefully we get a reprieve.

Perhaps it works but the heart issues make it ineffective for the people most likely having complications with the virus?

Well they say you have to start people on it early for it to be effective. I also heard some doctors are using it as a prophylactic (i.e. to prevent getting the virus). It would be interesting to know what the rate of COVID infection is amongst the population that was already on HCQ for other uses (prior to the outbreak) vs the general population.

  12. The swamp is deep and the swamp is wide. To blame Trump is a misstep for this whistleblower. Trump didn’t pull HCQ out of thin air. I don’t doubt that there is a lot of corruption and malfeasance at the HHS. The main idea coming from Trump is that we should try SOMETHING, rather than NOTHING due to bureaucratic overhead.

Is there something better than HCQ that isn’t being tried, but should be? Either HCQ is being promoted by someone with something to gain, or it is because it is in fact the most promising treatment so far.

I would question how “dangerous” it is since it has been around for 70 years, passed clinical trials for other uses, and is fairly widely used. Seems like a low risk / high reward option for trying to get something that can help. Is this “whistleblower” just another swamp creature who was trying to push something else for personal gain?

There simply isn’t enough evidence to say who has ulterior motives behind their actions in this crisis.

I view that as a distinctly different group.

I have to assume she opted for one of the lower level coverages with cheaper monthly rates. That doesn't justify the situation, but rather points to a hole in medical coverage in America..

    Sorry about your situation.

No, the doctors have said she is currently on one of the only plans that covers the treatment (the COBRA plan from where she worked is a really good plan). Medicare limits your options for coverage significantly, so she may not be able to get on a plan that will cover it. It is a double whammy with the government forcing the shutdown and extending it long enough until they can force her to have to use Medicare. She also HAS to be on one of the better Medicare plans because her chemo drugs cost $15000 a month. Those drugs are generally covered under non-Medicare plans for $60 a month.
