Please explain exactly how Daboll is playing "not to lose."  Honor us with more of your wisdom.

Stats don’t lie.  If you or I had ‘numbers’ like his with performance at work, how would that work out?  As stated, he needs JA to air it out, we need him to develop.  The interceptions will come yes, but so will some big plays.....especially now.  First play in Houston should be a bomb (not to KB) Pass game sets up a better rush game, we have no pass game. KB cant get separation down the sideline he runs like a TE... he needs more crossing patterns.

    Classic TBD overreaction.......

And then we have those irrelevant things called stats.......Bills under Daboll play calling game averages.  Total Pts=12.6 (32nd), Total Yds=221.2 (31st), Passing Yds=121 (32nd), Rush Yds=99 (20th).....oh forgot.....opponents Pass Yds are double ours.

To date AND to prove my statement that he is the worst OC in the league (at this time) Daboll needs to get with the program and get the kid airing it out. He doesn’t attack but plays ‘not to lose’.....sheesh our opponents don’t even need a safety.

Well, there's a little something called "consent" that Ms. Kerr is giving. Kind of a big deal.

    *********

    So let's rank them!

    Mahomes

    Goff

    Wentz

    Garoppolo

    Carr

    Bortles

    Mayfield/Allen

    Prescott

    Marriota

    Watson

    Rosen

    Darnold

    Trubisky

    No grade on Jackson yet.

Swap Watson with Bortles......Houston OLine is bad

You can weep and wail all you want. McDermott isn't going anywhere any time soon. He broke the playoff drought in his first year. He is going to have have at least a couple more seasons.

I would consider firing him even if the Browns made the playoffs. He is quite obviously a poor coach.

Possibly re Hue.....but the Browns would kick our butts this year, glad we dont have to see that.

Because its a roster purge.  The guys on the roster aren't necessarily "their guys."  Its more like filler until they do get their guys.  This team has been through the 6-10 to 8-8 years for over a decade.  It gets the team nowhere because they have almost no chance at getting any stars in the draft.  If all they can do is get around average guys then they have to spend the hell out of the salary cap on just a few players.  This team has been there, done that.

Maybe you don't like watching this team be a dumpster fire... truth is I don't like WATCHING it either. At the end of it though, I know its for the better.  Next season they ought to have a really good draft and pick up some FA's as well.  We should be able to be competitive from game to game next year.  That's assuming Allen progresses and this staff knows what its doing.

The following year they should be able to start competing for real.  If not then its time to fire some people.

Roster purge is bang on analysis.  Look at the Browns now,  they went and got some weapons, drafted their QB.

Honestly, I think the lack of looking for WRs / Offensive linemen have more to do with what they're trying to accomplish on the respective sides of the ball. Defensively, they know what they have and they have the same scheme and they're only looking to get through the year because DBs effectively can play at any point without needing too much consistency and they invested Draft picks, one very high at the cost of others, in the LBer group and will probably either pay good money for another (which I doubt) or Draft another one in the mid rounds.

Offensively, it is entirely about the future. They want to see what they have in their Offensive line because they're going to need to re-sign at least a couple because you can't have every single starter turnover, except for Dawkins. So, they want to know what the future holds. As for KB, he's the only real Vet to start at WR, and Zay is just trying to gain traction while Foster and McCloud could be or may not be the future with Josh Allen. The same can be said with Croom. As for Teller, I think they're taking the path they took with Milano which is to keep him learning and taking reps and gaining bulk, confidence and reps to eventually take over, either later in the year or next year. They have that because Ducasse hasn't been bad. Additionally, I think the FO knows they are going to need to invest in OL via FA AND the Draft. Preferably a Vet Center and RT and then either re-sign Mills or Draft one and they'll still need to sign more OL for depth / competition. But, that Center position is a key position that will need to be viewed as priority. Also, the Draft is deep with DL and DE, so signing those guys to short term deals makes sense when they will be aplenty in the Draft which is more the long-term solution.

Nobody wants to really embrace it, but we need to embrace the suck. It is what it is for this year. We all talked about this year being a year to take to re-build and get Josh and Edmunds learning and growing. Not to mention T. Johnson and Horrible Harry, which all four have shown real signs of promise. Patience is the key.

This makes me think the Bills might view him as a Safety replacement / depth for Hyde more than a CB.

“Embrace the suck”......Im still laughing ?.  Can see the commercials now....

All of the above, plus holding on to the ball too long because WRs not getting separation. On some plays, he got sacked immediately after the ball was snapped. You name it, it was an issue yesterday.

I was stuck watching Red Zone since Miami was the local game.  I did see the play that looked like the doors opening on Black Friday and the onslaught on Josh.......and wondered if the OL had that particular play off

Sean Mcvay IMO has easily taking over the most brilliant offensive mind in football.

Agreed.....he opens up the playbook, uses his gunslinger Goff and has receivers who can get separation and actually catch the ball.  I know Marquise Goodwin is always injured, I wish we would have kept him.....it sure would be sweet seeing Josh and Goodwin

My 2 cents.   I did not want to draft Allen due to accuracy issues.  But he has been better than I thought.  He is mentally strong, and can move in the pocket.  He also has ZERO help at the WR and OL positions, 2 areas where rookie QB's need help.

If he doesn't improve, I can see us taking another QB in the 1st round next year, or early 2nd depending.

Nothing to be lost by putting him out there now.

We will still need an OL and true #1 WR

The only silver lining about the first 2 games is we have yet to see our full offense. Daboll has been forced to scrap his playbook by the 2nd quarter because he's down 2-3 scores.

The little we have seen of the run game looks very encouraging , Ivory looks surprisingly explosive.

As long as this D gets their heads out of their butts , we'll see a much more complete offense and Allen on full display.

When your defense gives up 4 consecutive TDs in your first start , and the defense knows you're forced to go pass heavy , that's about as tough as it gets for him.

Agreed, and Ivory should be used much more

I’m okay with it.  Allen is giving me some hope.  If they can put some focus on the o line in the offseason and get a true #1 receiver, we’ll be in business.

Tough wait ahead, though.  I look forward all year to the start of the season, and by halftime today it was basically over.

The brass needs to totally concentrate on OL and DL......enough with this get any big guy mentality..... I even saw bs like that posted on this site during the run up to the draft.  Without a good OL and DL you have nothing, and it doesn’t even matter who your QB or WR are.
