First world problems.

True. The INT's didn't help. And Fitzy was never THAT bad, I think it's unfair to make that comparison.
Fitz will always be the INT king of Buffalo.

Honestly, I think Savior Peterman turned off many to NP here. I know that I had a hard time liking the kid with that tool roaming around (when he wasn't in high level business meetings). Plus, he was pretty terrible for most of his time on the field. SD and JAX seem to be the rule so far. Not saying he isn't and isn't going to get better than what we've seen thus far, but it's almost guaranteed he won't see the field this season, especially if the Bills move up again. Oh, and I like CB, he's a valuable member on this board.
I think all the interceptions turned off everyone to him. Almost Fitzpatrick like.

We should have gone after Cousins rather than trade away the farm for one of these guys who could bust. It's not like any of these guys is Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning.
Cousins hasnt won **** so why go after a guy who you alreay know is average? You like average season i guess. You dont try you will never succeed.

Due diligence. More and more I feel like we won’t be trading into the top 5.
That would be the worst situation for the Bills.

I do not know if they can/can't win with AJ/Nate. Too small of a sample size to be definitive in either direction.
Dont pretend like you can when you already know you need a franchise QB.

Or how about the Bills dont take the leftovers and go after the guy they want.
7 minutes ago, billsbackto81 said:Sure they will, that's obvious. And if they hit it may be well worth it. But if you think Beane is jumping off a cliff like the Jets GM did then you're not really paying attention to his method of team building are you?
His method is do what needs tk be done to ensure he has a job. That includes getting a QB.

And if it doesn't pan out at least they took a shot, right? I mean their roster is soooo strong they didn't really need those premium picks for other positions, right?
If it doesn't pan out the coach is out of a job if they don't get a QB that coach is out of a job.

You act like they wont ever draft again after this year... Funny.

Philip Rivers might disagree . Still the Bills have to try for the best QB within reason in this draft.
The Bill's already had a guy that knew how to screw games up at the end his name is Fitzpatrick

Lots of people praising the Jets for doing the opposite, but what the Jets did was out of desperation, reckless, and stupid. Trading up 40 + days before the draft, is stupid. Beane and company are doing it the way you need to do it. Patience. The Jets move has "ownership involvement" written all over it to me.
If the Jets get the QB they want than they didnt do anything wrong.

MMQB article this AM .. indicates there from a GM . there are 70 starter ready players in this draft ... so imagine if we hit .. 5 new starters in our draft ... LB, OL,RB, WR, DT (not necessarily in that order), .. plus McCarron, Star, Vontae, and Trent .. that's 9 starters added to last year's playoff team ... I'll take that.
Yet no QB so you would be in the same spot as last season. Hoping another team can screw up so you can squeek into the playoffs.

You are dreaming if you think that way.
Its the truth though, we have already seen every other position able to be masked. The QB position is the only one that matters the most.

MCBeanes are not the desperate types. I believe they think they can win with Nate if they had to.
Already proven they cant.

I will not be happy if they give away to many picks
we have lots of needs
you can get the best qb and if you can’t protect him and he gets hurt you wasted a lot of picks
You only have one real need... QB.

The majority of posters seem to want to employ a strategy of trading most of our picks for the right to draft "a franchise QB".
The Jets just made a move that almost ensures additional years of losing football with a young QB playing short handed with a weak roster and all the expectations in the world. No offensive weapons to use, poor offensive line, holes all over the front 7 on defense.
The Bills are now in a position to do the opposite, draft to fill the roster with young cost-controlled players to add to the talent base they have.
Six picks in the first 96. Chance to get QB, LB, CB, DT, OL and WR. Why would you choose the pathway the Jets are taking which pretty much ensures competition with the Dolphins for last place in the AFC East.
Love to read your thoughts on this.
They didnt ensure anything other than a chance at a franchise QB.

Doug traded up the one year the WR crop was full of good prospects... He did the wrong thing all the time.

B.c they can only control what they can do.

If the Bills didn’t have high expectations for McCarron, like I do, they wouldn’t have signed him.
Do you have something against Alabama for some reason?
He was cheap...

For those on the ledge stating that we need to move up from 12, here’s some evidence of why it’s a valid that AJ might be the answer OR a pick at 12 or beyond. Look at the current NFL QB’s and where they were drafted (apologize for any errors):
Top Ten Pick
E Manning(1)
M Stafford(1)
A Smith(1)
J Goff(1)
C Wentz(2)
J Winston(1)
C Palmer(1)
C Newton(1)
Picked Outside the Top Ten
B Roethlisbeger(11)
D Watson(12)
P Rivers(17)
R Wilson(18)
J Flacco(18)
A Rogers(22)
D Brees(32)
A Dalton(35)
D Carr(36)
D Kizer(52)
K Cousins(102)
M Ryan(120)
D Prescott(135)
T Brady(171)
C Keenum(UFA)
Pretty impressive list of QB’s outside the top ten. All I’m sayin’ brothers is step away from the ledge. Don’t sell the zuba’s And throw in the towel. There’s a valid argument that we are better off picking outside the top 10. Brady, Rogers, Brees, Roethlisberger.....maybe the next one is ours or maybe he’s already on our roster!
How can you step away from the ledge if your list isnt even correct. Also I want % of top 10 vs outside top 10 of failure rates. give me everything and correct or dont even bother at all.

The benefits of having all these picks aren’t just for trying to pull a Saints Ricky Williams deal for a qb...we don’t have to use them all we can move them around and keep adding more picks...cause let’s face it 2018 is basically the year we find out if AJ McCarron is an NFL starting QB or not regardless who we draft to be under center
Ricky Williams was a RB not a potential franchise QB...

Yet the Jets did...

Ask the people that make those mock drafts... it isnt like it is Beane himself saying it. Most likely they are just filling in a spot for the Bills draft and dont know what the Bills need. I dont know how you think some nobodies mock is a sign for a trade or anything.
-
How much would that suck... New regime same leftovers of garbage QBs

Yeah?
i think the ability to rapidly process information is important in a qb. Apparently you don’t.
No, not when he is sitting at a desk. I need to know how he does on the field.
Can we shelve the Comp pick discussion to March 19?
