  1. We need a player to grow with Allen. I like Green as a player but I don't think he is what we need. As exciting as it would've been to get AB I still don't think it made a ton of sense for where we are.

Drafting Metcalf as that high risk high reward prospect I could get behind. Beane shot for the stars last year with Allen and Edmunds. Win or lose you have to give him credit for having the nads to take the risk.

  2. Jonah Williams would provide the oline with versatility. If everyone is healthy he could probably slot at RG. If Nsekhe isn't up to starting at RT we could put Williams there. Nsekhe has been mostly a swing tackle and is turning 34 this year. He is not a long term solution for this oline.

Jonah Williams wouldn't be my pick at 9 but I wouldn't hate it.

There's a guy the Eagles drafted from USC in the 2nd round under similar circumstances(can't remember his name). He hasn't really panned out, but was viewed as a top 15 pick without the injury. Ferguson will likely go in the same range.

Not sure if its the who you're talking about but Sidney Jones tore his Achilles at his pro day. He was talked about as a high draft pick that fell to the 2nd round. He played at Washington. He's had injuries since coming to the league. I'm no doctor but i think and ACL tear could be easier to comeback from than an achilles tear. Could be wrong. Its a risk taking Simmons in the 2nd round but if there was no risk he'd be taken earlier in the draft.

  4. To be honest I think Simmons is a top 15 talent. If not for getting hurt he'd probably be in talk at 9. I don't think he drops to Rd 3 but you never know. I know he had those earlier charges against when he was younger but from most reports and interviews I've seen that looks to be a thing of the past. Young kids make mistakes. Sometimes a young man needs to grow up.

Cowboys waited a full year on Jaylon Smith after taking him in the 2nd. Seems to be working out for them as Smith is looking pretty good.

  5. I wonder if he'd help in recruiting Suh to come here for a year. Just kinda spitballing here but say we wait til after the draft to see how it pans out.

    1st round Jawan Taylor

    2nd Rd Jeffrey Simmons

With Simmons out for most of next season due to torn ACL maybe wed want a stopgap in Suh for a year while he rehabs. If Suh leaves maybe he works his way into draft pick compensation for us next draft.

We realistically have the cap space to sign Suh and Ansah this offseason. Plugs a couple of the remaining holes we have and sets up a really interesting draft for us.

  7. Out oline is looking good. To turn it into a true strength by taking a guy at #9. Williams or Taylor. Maybe move down for a Dillard or Ford. #40 could be a guy like Risner or Lindstrom still on the board.

A really good prospect would have ample time to develop behind some of our vet depth for a season or 2. Maybe that's why we wait and take a late round olineman instead.

Can't wait to see what direction they take.

  8. I would go edge or dt at 9. Maybe we move back up into the first round to pick up a TE.

Christian Wilkins is a stud in this league imo. Oliver is another with a high ceiling. If by some luck Quinnen Williams drops...

Taking a TE at 9 is almost too risky for me. Hockenson or Fant would need to be the second coming of Kelce/Ertz for it to be worth it. That's a lot to ask of a TE.

  9. Competition is a great thing in football. None of the guys brought in(Morse notwithstanding), or the ones already here deserve any certainty. Quinton Spain is a starter on this team in all likelihood. The competition for the other guard spot would be pretty fierce. We would also have depth in case of injury. Beane has clearly identified that our lack of depth/talent on OL was just not going to help in the development of Josh Allen.
