  1. He says he can't find a spot for Rosen in the top 6. Trade with Tampa sounds good to me and a hell of a lot cheaper.
  2. It's a much better mindset than Whaley, who was always trying to get what he thought was the missing piece to a playoff team. The team played over their heads last year. There were at least a couple recent Bills teams with more talent. Accomplishing as much as they did with this roster is a good sign for the future. Culture matters more in football than in any other sport and they have done a great job of laying their foundation. So nice to have confidence/faith in the shot callers.
  3. He is an extremely impressive guy. McGill is 1 of the best schools in Canada. Completing his MD there on top of the demands of NFL football is incredible. I was really hoping the Bills would draft him but I never expected him to end up as good as he is.
  4. The more roster holes that can be plugged with guys outside the comp pick formula, the better. I think the fact that Bean has been in on both Ivory and Davis says they want to be on the right side of it this year if at all possible. Ivory's style makes for a good contrast to Shady and it would be a short term deal so I'm not worried about the ages. I still expect 2 rookies. 1 drafted, 1 UDFA.
  5. You got me with the bolded. Fair enough. I still don't think most fans would argue Kupp>Watkins. He was drafted with the expectation of being on the elite level ala OBJ/Brown and I think that colors expectations a bit as well. If he was drafted 28th people wouldn't be as hard on him. So how about that Vontae Davis signing...
  6. You'll have to show me where anybody has said the bolded. That kind of hyperbole/extrapolation makes discussion difficult. Watkins is an extremely talented player. I don't think anybody disputes that. Certainly more talented then Kupp. The problem is, at this point, he is unrealized talent. No, stats sheets do not show a players entire value. Of course not. However, you cannot simply ignore them at a position like WR. Do you really believe the Rams thought they were trading for a field spacer/coverage eater with little production? Nobody values that at a 2nd round pick +. Great, he draws a double team most of the time. So does the #1 receiver on every team in football. Why does he have so much trouble producing vs other top WR's? A top WR talent produces, regardless of coverage. That's a fact. Do OBJ/Evans/Brown/a dozen other #1 WR not face these impenetrable defences? He might still reach his potential but it's perfectly fair to wonder if it will ever happen. Every year that passes it becomes less likely. At this point, outside of about a 10 game stretch, he's been no more than average over a 4 year career. 4 years is not a small sample size.
  7. I love the ego on fans that tell others to 'learn to watch football'. Get over yourself. You have no idea the knowledge/experience of who you are talking to. The assumption that you're a more intelligent fan is hilarious. As to the rest, please. The Rams traded a player + a 2nd for a 1 year rental who their scheme uses as a decoy or field stretcher. LMAO. Not bloody likely. They thought they were getting a potential #1 or a #2 at worst. Once again, Sammy came up short of expectations. Think the Rams make the trade again with the benefit of hindsight? After all, he did what he was supposed to. What more could they want? Potential without production is meaningless.
  8. I keep seeing this line of thought pop up but it ignores 1 major issue. They were never going to let dead-man-walking Doug Whaley choose the teams next franchise QB. They want their people to have an opportunity to properly evaluate the prospects before they tie their career to one. Basing the biggest decision a franchise makes on information from a bunch of people on the way out the door is dumb. Instead, they made sure to give themselves the necessary ammo this year, once they have had a chance to do their own evaluations. Maybe Mahomes/Watson end up being studs. The Bills picking them was never a realistic option.
