Yeah man I hear you.  I'm not, like... blaming you. Or even arguing. Idk. I'm just talking. I'm just trying to help illuminate things, because, again, we're just not trained to talk about it. We don't know how, culturally. I'm not saying I am the super expert, I am just sharing what I know, and trying to help people understand things that I remember not always being so clear to me. It is an ongoing process, not a one time thing.

I'm just preaching, dude, because it needs to be preached, that's it.

    Preach on!

  2. In the end, bringing Kaep back into a football uniform doesn't make sense and it won't benefit anyone or solve any problems.  What the NFL should do is bring him in as a sounding board member or hold some position within the league that combats racism within the league.  The overall issue here shouldn't be whether or not Kaep should play in the NFL again.  The overall issue we should be discussing is how Kaep can contribute to eliminating racism as much as possible.  Kaep brought attention to the situation to all of America with a single kneel.  but change doesn't work that way.  You have to take baby steps.  Bring awareness to the locker room and change one locker room at a time within the NFL.  After the NFL is understanding of this awareness and understand that changes need to be made by each individual, then the league can then branch out to their own respective community.  Than those communities reach out to other communities within the states.  Change starts with each individual and within their own house.  Real change isn't going to happen to all of America overnight.  it's just impossible.  Goodell needs to get his house (the NFL) in order first and I think that would be a beneficial way in utilizing Kaep.  Don't open the door for him just to play.  Open the door for him to make changes throughout the NFL and possibly the rest of America.  The NFL has an opportunity on their hands if they choose to handle this the right way.

  3. I don't know if I'm a fan of the Commish or anybody else trying to force teams to sign Kaep.  Does he deserve a chance, Absolutely!  But simply signing him just because the NFL agrees with his stance now, just isn't a good look for either party.  He hasn't been in the league for what, 4-5 years now?  Even if he tries out, he may not make a team because I don't think he's that good.  By all means, it would be one hell of a comeback story that I think everyone would love to see, but I wouldn't come out and say that a team needs to sign Kaep.

  4. all or nothing.  I don't want to settle for anything less than 16 games.  some teams start off hot and then cool off during the rest of the season.  On the flip side, some teams start off cold and then they catch fire to finish a season strong to either make the playoffs or even make a deep run into the playoffs.  This is what makes an entire season interesting and worth watching.  If a season can not be played in it's entirety, then just cancel it.

  5. Simply, to answer the question, yes.  I would support our coach.

However, I want to put things in perspective.  As an active duty member, I fully support the protests going on.  The police system is broken and needs to be fixed.  BUT, I would never kneel while in uniform.  I say this because this is important.  While wearing the uniform, I don't only represent myself, I represent everyone else wearing the uniform.  So if I were to kneel, nobody would see me for me.  Stories would get blown way out of proportion and headlines would read "Active Duty Sailor kneels during National Anthem."  So in retrospect, it's the Armed Forces who support these protests, not me.  I would be speaking for the entire Armed Forces, in which my career would be completely scrutinized for this.  I can't speak for everyone in the Military.  Same thing applies during political rallies.  We are not allowed to attend rallies in uniform or wear anything that displays the organization that we're in, otherwise, that'll be seen as "the Navy supports (insert President)."  Again, the point is that we can't show any type of support while representing the military or any other organization we're apart of.  So I think this same situation should apply in sports.  NFL players wear a uniform.  They don't just represent themselves.  They represent the entire organization.  Let's be real, not everyone is on the same page yet with what these protests mean.  In this very delicate situation we're living in right now, it should be an all or nothing type of protest during the National Anthem at games.  Either all players and staff kneel, or all stand together.  Or if certain players and staff want to kneel during the National Anthem, then take the uniform off, wear street clothes, and go kneel in the stands with the fans.  Blend in.  Represent your views.

I’ll wish you an early welcome to the “retirement team.” I just retired myself in January (26 years) and haven’t been to a Bills game since 1988 (Raiders at Bills - an extremely cold game).   I’ll have to fly in from Hawaii but it will be worth it.  PS - you’re gonna love retirement more than you realize.  Good luck to you !  And thanks for your service (LOL, now I can finally say it to someone).

Thank you for your service as well.  And I can't wait for retirement.  It's getting exhausting.

I find Bills fans like you really interesting.

Apparently, you aren't a WNYer, which raises the question: Why in the world are you a Bills fan?

I can't really think of any reason why 3rd party fans would latch onto the Bills.

My dad was born and raised in Cheektowaga and raised me to be a Bills fan.  I just don't have the heart to ever latch onto another team.

    Kyle Williams

    Lorax

    Thurman/Bruce

When it comes to a Bills Mount Rushmore list, I went with a group who contributed on and off the field.  You wanna look at model players all around and I think these guys fit that mold.  They loved being a Bill and being a part of the community.

Not being a stick in the mud at all. I served in the Navy from '61-65 and was aboard a carrier in the war zone. Always refer to myself as serving in the Vietnam war era and not a Vietnam veteran. Memorial Day indeed should be for honoring those who have lost their lives in service. I'll go one step further. I see no need for a veterans day. If we're going that far how about police officers, firefighters and first responders day. Many of those were and are at greater risk than I was aboard a carrier.

Thank you for your Naval Service.  I definitely honor all services, but am more biased towards seeing Sailors who served.  I'm currently a Chief in the Navy.  "Navy Chief! Navy Pride!"

The MVP almost always goes to a QB and often goes to a breakout player.

It is a good bet if you can get JA at 50-1. It is basically playing a parlay that says:

    The Bills go 12-4

The Bills win the AFC East

Josh Allen has 40 total TDs (he had 29 last year).

Those three things could easily happen.

Lord, please don't take this season away from us ?

Well, of course, but this is typical rear-view mirror analysis.  Anyone can make predictions that are nothing more than last year's standings reiterated.   The problem with that kind of prognostication is that it's usually better than 50% wrong.   Most teams other than the Patriots rise to the top for a year, two years tops, and then fall again, despite the fact that many fans think they see another dynasty.

I certainly wouldn't bet on Baltimore staying on top - the league is in the process of figuring Jackson out, and he hasn't yet shown that he can be a master NFL quarterback.

The point is that the teams at the top of the NFL change from year to year.   San Francisco was 4-12 in 2018 and one of the best teams in the league last season.

There are plenty of reasons why the Bills might not get near the top in 2020, but of the teams that weren't there in 2019, they have to be one of the preseason favorites.

All valid points.  I agree with your statement on Jackson.  He will eventually be figured out.  As most of us here, we've had our fair share of hopes during many off-seasons, only to be let down when a season started.  I think i'm just having a hard time with us being labeled as "favorites" because it's been so long since that has happened.  And the Patriots are still the Patriots, with or without TB.  Times have definitely changed for this organization and my optimism will be extremely high when we finally beat them.

Wooooo! Kyle nailed it (see clip: 2:12-3:35). He didn't explicitly mention a Diggs trade, but the sentiment was 100% correct. I love the Bryce Paup reference (I would also add Mario Williams in 2012). I LOVE what the Bills are doing up in Buffalo. Maybe the third best AFC team on paper right now?!

I appreciate everyone's kind words in this thread. I know all you dirty old WNY men have (red, white, and) blue balls right now, but I'll be back soon enough. In the meantime, enjoy:

I really wish I could get the full Bills experience like most people here on TBD.  Born and raised a Bills fan who's never been to WNY.  One day I'll be up there.  Especially with how we're trending, these a special times being a Bills fan!

I can't tell you who told me this but the Pats are currently in negotiations with the Bengals for the #1 overall pick....almost a done deal.

3 first rounders, a second this year and next years 3rd.

    Belicheck loves Burrow.....

If your hearing voices in your head, you may wanna seek a professional.
