I would disagree with this - he did not deserve to be COY, but he deserved consideration. I personally think top 5 coach of year candidate for McDermott.
I think they got got it right with McVay. I also think Minnesota, Jacksonville, Philadelphia- all should have gotten looks just like McD.
Suggestioning he should get a vote or two is not being a homer - trying to argue he should have won may be.
I thought the NFL got all of the picks right - no real surprises - wish Wentz had stayed healthy because I think he could of been MVP, but he didn’t.
Correct.. he should have received consideration.... And after considering it the result should have been voting for someone else.... Which it was...
Getting votes and getting consideration are two different things...

Whatever. Not my personal choice, but that's just me. I have two kids and anytime they see me kiss my wife on the lips they beg for me to kiss them on the lips and try to get me to do it (they are 4 and 2 years old). They try to wrestle me and kiss me on the lips. It's a game we play and funny, but for me I would never do that because it is weird for me.
But lots of families are different. I think showing affection, however it is, is better than the opposite.
Big difference between 2/4 and 11

Kissing your 11 year old child on the lips is one thing... I wouldn't do it but hey whatever.
But for your kid to do it, and you to tell them that it was only a peck and demand a better one is ****ed up and disturbing. That is not love but mental illness.
Add in the pictures of Brady straight up making out with his dad on the football field and you get one weird a** dude.
I am glad I didn't get raised to make out with family members, I feel bad for the kid really, he just wanted to check his fantasy football scores.

Releasing Clay in 2018 makes no sense as the best TE on the team and it provides exactly zero dollars of cap relief.
Well that obviously changes things.. I was going off of the OP saying it would provide 4.5 mill of cap space
-
Taylor's gone obviously. Glenn should be moved too.
Also dump Clay. He's been overrated and over paid since we signed him. He's nothing special at this point and drops a ton of balls, can easily be replaced.

I was very much in favor of trading for Smith but after seeing that contract no way

Jets have a **** ton of cap room and are interested. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Talk about a best case scenario.... I hope cousins goes to the jets
Would love to see them blow a bunch of cap on an average qb. Plus this would stop them from drafting a qb who actually has potential to be a franchise player for at least a few more years.
Go get em gang green

The superbowl is this sunday.. and I don't even care.
Don't have plans yet, and again, don't even care.
Usually one of my favorite days of the year, but my excitement for the game is at an all time low.
Sick of watching the Patriots, its really gotten old. Plus, the matchup blows. Nick Foles, seriously? Shows how bad this league is starving for talent.
Even if the Eagles pull of the upset, can you really take pleasure in it? We get to watch a bunch of a**hat fans burn a city to the ground.
O well, heres to good food, company, and not getting 5-5 in my office superbowl pool this year.

Wtf was the point of that. More information was given in Twitter statements then in that "press conference"

Eric Wood held off the announcement in case he got the call to play in the Pro Bowl on Sunday. He was an alternate behind Maurice Pouncey and Rodney Hudson. Wood was hopeful that could be his farewell, but he had planned on retiring regardless.- Tim Graham
If he would have played in the pro bowl it seems like something that should only limit is ability to play competitive contact sports and not impact other areas of his life. Hopefully that's the case.

This is a very real and natural place to go after hearing the news but one of the things that's really starting to turn me off about football. I don't blame you at all for starting the thread and it's a discussion to have but brutal to hear about a guy being forced into retirement and having this be one of the first items we are forced to turn to as a fanbase or organization.
This is just a stupid post, I'm sorry. We are all very concerned for him, he seams like a really great guy and was great for the community. But none of us know him personally and our lives will move on. Wish him the best, but there are far more tragic things that happen in this world every single day.
Anyways, there's nothing wrong with this thread. To be honest I'm not too concerned for the bills, he's always been a bit overrated as a player and at his age would have needed to be replaced in the next couple years anyways.
Wishing you the best Eric.

I typically check out Rotten Tomatoes before seeing a movie, thinking the reviews are for the most part legit. After seeing jumanji I am convinced it's all bs. 90% user rating. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Never wanted a movie to end so badly.
The red head almost made it worth it though.
Thoughts?

Of course he's not special. If he was special they would have paid him like he was. He's a top 10 QB but not in the tier of Brady, Rodgers and Brees. I don't think anybody is disputing that. That being said, he's much better than "slightly above average" that a poster above wants to paint him as.
I don't know if he's worth the contract he's going to get but he's one of the best QBs in the league and you can defiantly win with him if the other pieces are in place. Granted, as mentioned in the article, a huge contract my prohibit having the cash to put the rest of the team around him.
Brady
Roethlisberger
Luck
Rivers
Newton
Brees
Ryan
Rodgers
Stafford
Wentz
Watson
Wilson
Garappalo
And there are several that are debatable, Carr, Winston, Mariota, flacco, goff
He is not a top ten QB lol, not even close.
Some of you are nuts. I hope you goes to the Jets.
-
Correct it's not luck... It's a dominating defense in a conference with 15 ****ty teams and the Patriots. That's all it is.
Everyone outside of NE was playing for 2nd this year, it's the truth and been that way since the season started.
-
That's what stands in the way of that Patriots and another Superbowl.
Barf. I guess it was pretty much a foregone conclusion when the season started though.
-
Seriously
By the end of his career I think this guy will be considered the greatest wr to ever play. I'd say you could make the argument that he already is.
-
4th and 2 inches and they pitch it to the rb 6 yards behind the line...wtf is Pittsburgh doing????
They are toast!

-
Lol at them calling him out. Refs are gona try HARD to get the NE Pitt matchup.

-
Cousins is an average QB. Not even top 10 in the league. And he might become the highest paid player in league history.
What is wrong with you people?

dude is one of the best rbs ever imo, never won a playoff game
knows his time is running out, next year might be his last as a feature back

Despite always sounding like he's suffering from the worst constipation of his life, I always liked him as an announcer.
Not anymore, he was an embarrassment tonight.
Lost all respect for the guy.
I'm sure him and riveron are in the Patriots locker room double teaming Brady trying to console him.
