  1. MLB catches someone stealing signs and they’re all banned for 1 year. Most who were involved, fired.

Pats* get caught cheating for the umteenth time this week, and are essentially fined Reid Ferguson’s salary for 1 year. (Oh, and a comp pick that they’ll be awarded 6 more of later in the year)

Someone needs to tell Goodell to go easy on these poor guys.. ☠️

  3. I don’t see them making a splash.

The way I have seen things so far:

At the end of the year they grade each position, A-F. If there is a position that say grades out to a D or an F. Bean will use FA to bring that position up to a C.

That way you’re never really find yourself overspending. (They might shell out a little more if it makes other positions around it better as well, ie Moorse)

Then they use the draft (BPA), to hopefully stack on top of that C grade, and hopefully it upgrades over time, and when that FA contract expires.

    We shall see though..

    I watched it several times.

There are about 10 different critical plays that the Bills easily could’ve made, and didn’t, that resulted in that loss. Just off the top of my head:

    - Smoke drags his foot on a 3rd down sideline pass and we’ve got 1st and goal at the 3 instead of a FG attempt to go up 10

    - Duke drops a TD pass that hit both hands, so instead of 17-0 it’s 13-0

    - Ford whiffs badly on Watt and gets Allen sacked before he can hit the inside target (think it was Beasley—EDIT: it was Knox coming open at the 5 for a 1st down, not a TD), so it’s 16-0 instead of (possibly) 20-0

    - Josh fumbles away the ball giving Houston their best field position of the day

    - Siran Neal drops an easy pick-6 that probably ices the game

    - Ford/Morse/Knox miss the easy block on Cunningham that probably leads Josh inside the 30 (at least) for a GW FG

    - Ford takes a PF penalty negating a chance for a GW 54-yard FG

    - Brutal execution on the 3rd and 18 in OT

    - Two defenders can’t tackle Watson on 2nd and 6, which leads to Taiwan Jones’ GW RAC

    :30 left before halftime.

Ball on Houston 23 yard line.

1st down- Gore 1 yard gain.

    2nd down- Spike

3rd down- Pass incomplete to #82 In the end zone.

It was at this moment, that I knew that the coaches would cost the team the game.

(For the record, I like the coaches that we have. However, McD needs to quit being a good sport, and develop a killer instinct. As well as BD needs to stop making things about his playbook, and start calling what is/has been working all game.)

Hopefully their egos allow them to learn from this going into next year, and take those next steps.

  5. The NFL DEFINITELY wasn’t going to hand down any type of punishments anywhere NEAR the time that MLB suspended people for a year, for possibly doing something of similar context.

Sometime in June when the league is ice cold and off everyone’s radar, the NFL will say that the Pats* are not allowed any orange Gatorade during training camp.

This of course, will come after the Pats* apologize, and say that they didn’t know any better... once again...

Again, clearly you missed the end of the original post.

Who are you thinking? Green Bay? New Orleans? Don’t worry, there are no wrong answers.. Just a discussion about football and possibilities.. It’s ok, you’ll figure it out, eventually.. ?

(However, the CORRECT answer should be, Buffalo) ?

The more relevant question is probably who I think will win the SB.  My point in my response was that the endless speculation about the draft picks is being made without three of the more important pieces of information.  These being which of their own free agents do they sign, which of their players under contract do they release, and which free agents from other teams do they sign.  Other posts declare in absolutes that the Bills will do specific things in the draft.  IMHO this is ridiculous.  I find more value in the posts from people who identify information about some of the hidden gems in the draft that the mainstream sports media misses.

To put your analogy in this context, it is tantamount to picking your super bowl winner before the season is played.  We all know how valid those kinds of predictions are.

So, long story short.. You’re more worried about being right, than sharing an opinion. Got it.

Asking about the Super Bowl winner is no different on September 1st, than it is on January 31st. It is the exact same question. The ONLY difference is that in September, the odds of being correct are 1:32. Where as the odds when we ask you before kickoff of the game, and all players have made it on the field safely, now becomes 1:2.

Your answer is the equivalent to saying, “I don’t know who is going to win, because there’s a possibility that an asteroid could slam into the earth before the game, and we would all die, horrible, horrible, deaths.”

Did your girlfriend ever ask you if you wanted kids after dating for a while? Was your response, “Bich, how should I know? We’re not even married yet?”

Ill stop back later and ask who you think will win the game with .01 seconds left, that way you’ll have all the information you’ll need in order to make an accurate prediction.

You are absolutely correct.  Many posts deal with speculation around draft picks before we even know what needs remain following free agency.  Thanks for the dose of common sense.

No point in asking you who’s going to win the SB either, since they haven’t even played the game yet, correct?

I dont really care about Lamb or Jeudy i want Ruggs so not sure i can add anything useful to the OP’s hypothetical.

edit: and YES i’ll be that guy if ruggs is still out there at 14-16 i think the bills should trade up for him. That’s a tyreek hill type player without the baggage. My fear is he runs a sub 4.3 at the combine and he’s gone in the top 10.

From what I’ve seen/heard so far, Ruggs looks to be one of the studs. While I do agree that talent tops all, you’re not looking to add a little height, and jump ball possibilities to the mix?

Love possibility #2. Don't be afraid to draft wr in the first 2 rounds. Shenault and Pittman would be perfect. Brown & Beasley's age are factors.

The more I think about things, I’d probably be more on board with this option as well.

I will say, it’s probably those 2 specific names that are causing me to lean in that direction. I don’t know what direction I would go in, if one, or neither were available. Probably BPA in a position of need, but we for sure need to come away with at least 1 WR this draft. (Including what happens in FA, because we need youth at the position, as well)

What are you doing if one of or both players are off the board? Anyone else you like?

    Thanks for agreeing with me...

You are asking us to discuss the merits of two hypothetical situations that are both  extreme when we have no idea what wide receivers are signed in free agency and what other needs  the team will have at that time..to say this is difficult is an understatement..

I would ask who you’re picking to win in the Super Bowl, but they haven’t even had the kick-off yet. Not to mention that one of or both teams, could both possibly contract the Coronavirus before hand. So, that’s probably a lousy question to ask so far ahead as well.

I don't think we do either because it would be idiotic.  I predict we go DE or LB in 1st round and WR in the 2nd given the depth at the WR position.  We may move up a few spots in the 2nd round to get our WR.

If we were to trade up we'd have to offer our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at minimum.  I like CeeDee Lamb over Jeudy and would have to leapfrog the Raiders at 12.  The Browns would be the target at #10 as they may like to move down to acquire more picks to address their depth at OL.

I haven’t been following the draft class too closely, but in your opinion, is there a DE that would be available around pick 22, that would be better than say, Trent Murphy?

In my humble opinion, we need playmakers and players who can take over games. (Especially at the positions that were discussing) Yes, they CAN be found later, often takes a bit of luck, but those players are typically found in the top half of the draft.

Also, I’d be weary of taking a LB that high in the draft when it appears that we already have our 3 down LB’s in TE and MM. Is it wise to spend a 1st on a position that may only see 35-40% of the defensive snaps?

  13. Disclaimer: Yes! I know it’s not even February and things will change between now and the draft! Now, with that out of the way..

The latest Drafttek Mock draft had me pondering a couple of possibilities.

    https://www.drafttek.com/m/2020-NFL-Mock-Draft-Round1.asp

    Possibility #1

Both Lamb and Jeudy are still both on the board at 10. If you have interest in drafting either, which team do you call, and what do you offer.

Yes, most of us are still shell shocked from the Sammy Watkins debacle. But I don’t believe that should make you stop from swinging. Maybe just hope for a bit more luck the next time.

    Possibility #2

The draft has us taking Shenault in the 1st and Pittman in the second.

After thinking about it, I couldn’t say I’d mind that. Both Beasley and Brown are approaching 30.

If you have any questions regarding this regimes ability to spot offensive talent, taking 2 wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

Try to find a couple of OL and a DE in FA somewhere, and try to draft DE/LB next year.

    What say you? ?

Maybe, just perhaps playing decoy all year will finally pay off. ? Seriously though, those are pretty solid odds!
