I think KC winning puts even more pressure on McD for next season. How can the Bills watch the Chiefs and think what we have at HC is acceptable?
-
I mean in the end, does anyone really think SF would march back down and get a TD?
But yes I agree overall. You kickoff and see what you need to do.
-
Purdy was OK. Frankly, I'm stunned at how well the 49ers D played.
I still think Purdy hs to grow as a QB though.
-
If your SF, you have to consider replacing Shanahan.
You can't tell me they lose that game with Belichick.
Now..the big question for KC is Reid & Kelce. I think both will be back no?
Anyways, that was the worst Chiefs offense of the Mahomes era. They still won.

The Bills can beat the Chiefs. They have done it alot. Just not in the postseason. And two of those games came down to the wire.
I believe it's coaching that wins KC the playoff games. Which is why realistically 2024 is McD's last chance. Anything short of a conference title game, I think he is out. I still can't forgive him for "13 seconds". That still stings.
This team needs a HC to push them over the hump. Belichick would improve this D. And we already have the QB.

In that thread, it seems to insinuate he would have been there at 12.
Why did the Bills move up?

49ers haven't been impressive in this postseason. I don't see any position where they are that much better than KC.
QB/HC/DC: Chiefs
WR: 49ers

Won't win one under this regime.
If they had a Belichick/Harbaugh, they win the SB within two years.
Wouldn't be shocked if Bills fans are forced to see him win it with another team.

I think the organization is still in a stage where getting to the postseason regularly after a near 20 year drought is an accomplishment. In comparison to those teams, this era of Bills look unbeatable.
The front office needs to start looking at where this organization is player & personnel wise compared to the other top contenders. Division titles are meaningless without playoff success.
Questions need to be asked: McD vs Reid in the postseason. McD's time management; struggles against Cincinnati.

Tells me that the Bills are not playing up to their full capabilities.

I hate the Monday Night Games. Playoffs on a Monday seem abnormal.
I preferred the 6 seeds in each conference. The 7 seed is usually mediocre and gets beat pretty bad. It's watered down.
Lastly, the season feels top long. 23 weeks between the start of the season and SB? If they add more games, the SB will eventually be in March.
Too long.

Yes and I'll go as far as to say this '13 seconds' Bills would have won the Superbowl in 2021 crap needs to die once and for all as well.
Remember, JA17 played the best game of his career that day and it's the only reason the game was close and came down to that to begin with. But it was never some sort of fluke win by Mahomes and the Chiefs. The better team won and they didn't even make the superbowl that year and neither would the Bills have which might be similar scenario if Ravens pull the upset next week.
How in the world would that be an upset?
They are the 1 seed with best defense and a top offense playing at home.

My Super Bowl rooting order:
Lions

This.
But Detroit will be huge underdogs. Especially if against Baltimore.
It would be quite the story.

Can't root for the Lions (although I understand they're an underdog story) because I am going to be really pissed if they up and win a Super Bowl without having to go through any playoff adversity. They have had an easy run thus far because the NFC is so lackluster.
As SCBills said, I don't wan't Lamar getting to a Super Bowl and past KC.
And well, @!#& the Chiefs
If they win the SB, they would have defeated SF and then KC/Baltimore.
That's not an easy feat.

I'm not sold on Lamar Jackson yet. I wouldn't put it past him to come out and struggle on Sunday. If he doesn't, Baltimore should win.
49ers are the only NFC team that has a shot against either. I'm not sold on Purdy though.

No, but I agree with you that we should have been thinking TD at the end instead of FG. I would have liked it if they had treated that last set of downs as four-down territory (unless something went wrong and set us up for 4th-and-too-long of course).
I agree on the 4th down mentality.
Another possibility was-if he makes the fg, do you go for an onside kick? I wouldn't have held that against McD if he tried it.

I mean if you look at most teams this deep in the playoffs, they all have to play perfect games
Allen has to play perfectly for the Bills to win.
Purdy can be bad for most of the game and win. Because he has support around him. Plus a genius offensive mind.
The Bills need to get to a stage where Allen doesn't need to be near perfect to win games. It is never going to get us a SB title.

Is the question about 20 years ago, or now? I like where we are now. AFL Championships or SB’s from 25 years ago don’t matter now.
As in, who has it better today? Technically the Bills. Guess what both of us have in common? No SB titles this year. If the Bills had 6 titles already, that would be acceptable.
Would you be stunned if they move up to get an elite QB. And before you know it, win a SB before us? I certainly would not.

I hate to be that guy, but people like you are really the worst kinds of fans.
It might surprise you, but people do realize that this is just a hobby and it's not important in the grand scheme of things but also have an emotional attachment to the team. You say that some people tell you that you take it too seriously but based on your posts I would bet anything you don't. So enjoy your "perspective". Just know that if the Bills ever win the Super Bowl, it won't ever feel as good to you as it does to many of the rest of us.
Yeh. I don't understand posts like that. The Bills are a passion. Them winning would be glorious.
Just because it's not literally life o death, does not mean it isn't important.

Sure there is, we could all be jets or patriots fans, we are kings of the AFCE, 😁👍 remember there are more important things in life than football, be happy we live in the first world, things could be a whole lot worse,
GO BILLS!!!
6/9 in SB's over a 20 year period. With 4 other conference title game appearances. Best QB in history. Along with a top 5 HC in NFL history.
Yeh...who wouldn't want to be a Bills fan over a Pats fan?

Question for Terry Pegula to think about: Why are the Bills 3-1 against the Chiefs in the regular season but 0-3 in the postseason? Sitting available right here right now is Jim Harbaugh. You can do it if you want to.
Because Reid prioritizes postseason ovr regular season. Things magnify in the playoffs.
Reid owns Brady in the regular season. Yet, Brady gets him in the postseason. Every single time.
Playoffs are a different animal.
And Terry is maybe fearful that the replacement of McD could be worse.
-
He went for it because of the shaky punter & the D not stopping a nose bleed.
I don't mind going for it. I do mind the playcall itself.

So tired of hearing about the Mafia, our weather advantage, crowd noise, blah blah blah. KC was not affected whatsoever and had zero false starts i think.
The *only* reason Buffalo is a dangerous playoff team is Josh Allen and even he can't get over the hump in our great home field advantage. Just so frustrated. KC never loses at home in Arrowhead.
2018 & 2021
If Houston was a competent team, they lose in 2019 too.
Historically, they've struggled at home in the postseason.

Right. There are never any up and comers. All great offensive coordinators were hired as such, right? They didn’t start off as positional coaches.No. You make good point.
I'm just saying a HC should only get so many opportunities to change coordinators.

Pacheco was huge and didn't play in the regular season matchup. Plus Mahomes is obviously a GREAT QB, throws on point and the receivers caught everything last night. AT one point they had 8 chunk plays to our zero. KC's defense, while solid, got pushed around last night but they got some stops when needed. And lucky with the Bass miss which may have only prolonged our agony another couple mins.
Yeah Bass making the kick would be moot anyways. We all know what would happen following that.
I was watching and wondering if they should have just gone for it on 4th down. You know you are going to lose with a fg the other way anyways. Make them go get a Td.
Its Pretty Obvious why the Chiefs win every year

Mahomes>Brady
Mahomes has 15 playoff wins. By age 34, he should have about 30.
3 SB MVP's
Will undoubtedly win a few more league MVP's.
