  1. Daboll will be a head coach somewhere in the NFL next season and Trubisky will be his starting QB!! Think about it what better way to groom you future QB for whatever team he may be coaching then using JA to show Trubisky the ropes of your offense without getting on the field. Daboll will be coaching a Trubisky led team in one of the following locations IMO:

LV Raiders:  I don't think this is what the Mark Davis envisioned when hiring Chucky and Mayock when he hired them.  Mayock has messed up a couple of draft classes and once he gets fired here I can't see him going back to the Draft show he once hosted on NFL network. Chucky has always been over rated in my eyes....he was a better game day host them head coach.  Carr although good at times, reminds me of a poor mans Andy Dalton and the reason why I say poor man's Andy Dalton is because at least Dalton could get his teams to the playoffs.  The Raiders are also in the same division as the Chiefs as we know and they need to score points to match the Chiefs..and that isn't going to happen on a consistent basis without a mobile QB with a gun who can sling it. The Chargers will be no push over either.

Minn Vikings:  What better way for Trubisky to become a starting QB again other then in the same division as the team that dumped you and haunt them for the next 8 to 10 years.  I don't think Zimmer makes it though the season this year and Cousins isn't taking them anywhere....ever. Cousins is a glorified back-up QB and a rich one at that. Daboll coming in there with Trubisky will be great for that offense and poised to take over the division again for a good run IMO.

    or

Houston Texans:  Yes the Texans are in a bad spot right now.  Once they trade away D. Watson they will have a ton of draft picks and nowhere to go but up.  I think Daboll would take this job if the contract is good and he has a say in everything that goes on within the team but not the final word. I don't think it ever works out where the coach is also the GM...and don't mention the Patriots because Cheating Bill is an over rated GM who caught lighting in a bottle with TB12 who made Bill look good while QBing a team with a lot of bad rosters. I think this team needs to do what the Bills did when Sean and McBean got to town and clean house and rebuild.  I don't know who would take this job though it kind of reminds me of the Browns and Us a few years ago...a place where head coaching dreams went to die. But both franchises seemed to figure it out so maybe Daboll can take that experience and build the Texans.

But this won't happen because all the coaching jobs will be filled before Daboll get's a chance to accept one because the Bills will be playing in the SB.  Go Bills!!

Simply not true. What roberts lacked in top end speed he made up for with elite vision and feel. One cut and go type of returner I’ll give you that. But it was almost always the right cut. Guy was an asset. Hands down…. He definitely wasn’t just running head first into defenders.

I didn't say he wasn't an asset I just said he wont be missed. We saw all he could do and he was never going to break one like McKenzie did. To me the dude was consistent yes but we saw all he could do. I think there is a lot more upside with McKenzie who can make a big play on ST when we need one.

  3. I voted for other which translates to (none of them).  All this buzz about Roberts....yes he was a good returner but her was just north and south kind of guy who tried to plow over guys with no juke moves what so ever. I think McKenzie will be a big upgrade at punt return specialist (he has juke moves and speed that will make guys miss exhibit A go see week 17 last year against Miami dude is 1 for 1 last year on punt returns with 1 TD). I think the KR duties will be a wash.

  4. I know this topic is kind of vanilla...but I was wondering where Bills Mafia stood as far as Bills players you are rooting for this year besides the obvious. There are plenty to choose from Cody Ford, Devin Singletary, Dawson Knox, Ed Oliver, Taron Johnson, Isaiah McKenzie, Harrison Phillips to name a few. Most of these guys I feel have something to prove to ownership and front office, coaches, themselves, and of course Bills Mafia. These are players IMO that have worked hard in the offseason and all have had their moments but have not been consistent enough or in your opinion used enough to maximize their talents.

I am rooting for Dawson Knox. I love watching that guy when he has the ball in his hands ever since the Bengals game in week 3 of his rookie year in 2019. Fourth Quarter with 4:13 left and the Bills were down 17-14. He caught a pass and was barrelling over defenders and got the crown at Bills Stadium rocking which we ended up winning the game 21-17 mainly because of that play. His hands are questionable at times and drops a simple pass...but usually shortly after a drop he makes an unbelievable catch. He appears to have been working hard on his faults this offseason with the eye therapy and now the TE university. Plus it usually takes WR and TE's til year three to really bloom although there is always some exceptions. He was sick with COVID last year and was hurt and missed 4 games. I am rooting for this kid and hoping he catches at least 55 balls this year for 700 Yards with 5 TD's at a minimum.

  5. I think Josh's numbers will go down slightly. I just remember him in the Houston Playoff game when he started to be a cowboy making stupid mistakes trying to out dual D. Watson instead of winning the game. I hope I am wrong but last year with no crowds I think it was easier for him to stay focused and calm to some extent. Now with the stadiums full and the year the Bills are coming off of, the stadium will be rocking I just hope Josh listens to a lot of Frank Sinatra this year in between possessions to calm his nerves or I think we will see a couple of bone headed mistakes a-la two years ago. Over pumped.

I also hope we have a 1,000 yard rusher. I hope we build leads heading into the forth quarter and then pound the ball. It is good for the health of the team (Josh) taking less hits, it is good for the backs, takes pressure off Josh and the receivers, and it is good for the O-line (the big guys like that). I don't know which back it will be but if I had to put money on it it would be Moss.

I’m sure There is outrage the Browns don't have more since so many are anointing them second best in AFC now.

That is funny!!! Yeah they won the Off season signing period made some moves...how many times did the Bills do that and it didn't matter. You can have all the hot shots in the room you want but if they don't jell and play together and for each other it doesn't matter. The Bills proved that over and over again. Now we have less hot shots and more teammates looking out for each other. I will take that any day of the week.

I look at Etienne as a CJ Spiller-type and not because he also went to Clemson.  In the NFL, he’s likely going to be that scatback that Buddy Nix envisioned for Spiller.  Spiller was a bad pick then because of the state of the team.  He should’ve been used liked Darren Sproles, with 50-60 receptions at least.  His high with the Bills was 43.

This Bills team is in a better position to make a pick of Etienne, but at 30, not trading other draft capital to move up for him.

I love what Brandon Beane has done overall but it seems he gets too emotional about some players, resulting in trade-ups. The videos of the draft room from 2 years ago are a perfect example.  He couldn’t be patient to see if Cody Ford would still be there for their pick so he had to trade up to get him.  Then he did the same thing with Knox in the 4th round.  He also seemed to be enamored with film clips of Devin Singletary, stating he was amazed at some of his moves.

Well, it’s been only 2 years but I’d.say all 3 of those players have not yet met expectations.

Cody Ford only played one year and last year he wasn't bad a guard then he got hurt. He has moved all over the line trying to find his spot. Its hard enough for a rookie in the NFL to learn one position not 3. I can see him settling in at guard this year and concentrating on one position and really helping. As for Knox he was a High School QB and recruited to Ole Miss as a QB and converted to TE during college. Not an easy task. Plus I think this is the year he will shine. If you look most receivers don't break out until year 3 in the NFL....I said most. So as a receiving TE he will improve as an overall TE maybe another year or so. I just want the receiving part to come alive. And Singletary is nothing special. He was a great surprise his first year in the league but now teams know who he is and aren't scared. He is who he is. So I would give the first two a break.

  8. People are saying the draft starts at pick 3 with the 49er's, but who will they pick? When Shanahan took over in 2017, the roster was in good shape except for a QB in which he traded for his guy in Jimmy Garoppolo and 2 years later they were in the Superbowl (2019 Season).  So why would the 49er's give up on Garoppolo so fast or are they. Maybe they are making smoke screens and have someone else in mind to get them over the hump once again. And at 12 they wouldn't be in line to get their guy. By essentially trading up to the #3 spot that is like the pick to pick anyone in the draft other then T. Lawrence, or the kid our of BYU (you go Jets waste another pick). They have set themselves up to get Jimmy G. a major weapon on the outside in any of the three WR's they like, or pick K. Pitts TE out of Florida which would be a major weapon in their offense and it would give the 49ers two major TE threats to push the ball down the field in Pitts and Kittle (that would be a scary duo). So why is everyone saying the 49er's are going to pick a QB when they already have a proven one at the helm if he can stay healthy. This reminds me of the movie the Draft Day where the Browns had their guy and he was worried about getting traded or let go....(Pitts No Matter What). If that happened that would make the whole first round much more entertaining and stress free because I don't want Pitts going to an AFC East team. Thoughts.....

  9. Get it done Beane!!!! we can give the dirty birds this years first and next years first along with a third and a late rounder in either year so we can get Pitts. I know we need some D but this guy has all the tools to make our Offense even better. We wont be getting starters with later first round picks anyway not with this roster. But if we get Pitts we get a starting TE. Thoughts.....

I would even throw in Edmonds in on the deal and draft a MLB in the second round!!!

  10. As much as I would like to get Travis Etienne, I think we will draft heavy on the Defense. Our weakest spot on the team IMO is the D-Line especially ends (and age has a lot to do with it). We have dinosaurs playing both ends (Hughs, and Addison) we need an influx of youth at that position, so I see maybe two or three DE's drafted. It would not surprise me if Etienne is sitting there at 30 and we draft him and later in the draft trade Moss or Singletary away. Just my opinion. If we can stay young and get better that is good too.

  11. We have a pretty good roster as it sits right now and there is now way 7 draft prospects make the roster or even come close. This is what I would do if I were Beane. Here are the Bills picks as it stands now:

    Round Pick

    1           30    Bills original selection

    2           61    Bills original selection

    3           93    Bills original selection

5           161 Acquired from Raiders for Zay Jones

    5           174 Bills original selection

    6           213 Bills original selection

7        *236 Acquired from Panthers for Marshall Newhouse

I would pin point 2 or three guys that you love and you think would help this team out day 1 (either by creating competition or starting) and use all the draft pick to maneuver the board to make it work.

I would trade pick 30 and 93 to move up in the first round ( you wont get a top 10 but you can probably get as high as 18 to the mid 20's

I would trade pick 61 and 161 to move up in the second round (you might get as high as pick 45 by doing this)

you could use the last three picks 174, 213, and 236 to maneuver in the later rounds. and if he didn't trade any of those picks the picks would be camp bodies and we would draft 5 guys instead of 7. It would also give us 2 picks in the top 45 instead of 4 picks in the top 161 and only one pick in the top 45.

I am just playing around here but it would be nice. Plus if you were one of those guys drafted by this team rounds 5-7 you probably know in your heart you have little chance of playing on the opening day roster

Clowney. Most upside. Also people forget he's good vs the run.

I would like to see Clowney also. Reminds me of Mario when we signed him even though he was already a stub. Clowney did go to S.C. not the biggest of towns for a football team. And since he has been in the NFL Houston, Seattle, Tenn. all big citys with lots of stuff to get into. I think Buffalo would make him feel the most at home, plus dude has to know he is running out of chances. I think he will either be a steal or a major bust either way he wont cost much and the upside is better then the downside.

I’m usually not a Negative Nancy but today let me be that guy.

The AFCE will be harder this year.  The Pats, Phins, and Jets all got better while the Bills got worse.

Pats.  They didn’t resolve the signal caller issue but Bill’s epic spending spree improved the rest of the roster.

Phins.  Tua – who Fitz seems to love – should be better his sophomore year.   To help, they went out and got Will Fuller.

Jets.  While they picked up a couple nice free agents defensive linemen, the best thing the Jets did this offseason was change out their entire coaching staff.

The Bills were an interesting team last year.  Despite the 13-3 record and AFC Championship game appearance, our guys only excelled in two areas: special teams and passing the ball.   Unfortunately, our ST unit lost its two best players: Roberts & Bojorquez

While there were moments of excellence, no level of our D was consistently good.  And our offensive running attack was putrid.  None of those shortcomings have been addressed so far.

Beane did a nice job retaining our offensive linemen.  Sadly, though, they’re just not that good.  They don’t open holes in the running game.  And Daboll has to use TEs and RBs to help with pass pro.  Even with that help, we couldn’t protect Josh in KC.

While the rest of the AFCE stepped up, we stood still at best and probably stepped back.

Fingers crossed –free agency isn’t over and we still have the draft.

I have to disagree with your statement that our two best players were Roberts and Bojorquez. Roberts was good but I would much rather see Lil Dirty back there especially for punts. To me he is more shifty and always has a chance to break one (i.e. the Miami game last year). Yes Roberts was good and he always came out with a full steam of head....but he wasn't shifty and if there wasn't a hole there he wasn't going anywhere. As for Bojo, I thought he was average. Yes he had some great punts but he also had some pretty bad ones (i.e. the 12 yarder vs the Cards). You can look here and see that he was just average  https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/3/12/22324339/2020-analysis-buffalo-bills-punter-corey-bojorquez i just think we didn't see much of him last year so when we did see him we were all shocked.

I think Tyler Bass was one of our studs on ST and glad he is with us. I will only talk playoffs with him. The Colts game he made a great kick at the end of the game to seal the deal for us. He didn't do so hot vs Bal but neither did Tucker (probably the best kicker of all time) because the winds were crazy. And in the Championship game he was he was perfect with FG's 4-4 with 2 from 50+ yards (although he did miss an Extra point).

I also think we have some great cover guys like Jones and Tyler M.

I also think most people on this board are underestimating C. Ford as a Guard (which is where he will be this year) we have a solid line with Dion, Ford on the left side Morse int he middle and Mongo and Williams on the right. Or you could flop the Guards around who cares. I really think the weak link on our line is Morse. I remember watch the Pats game when Morse went down with a concussion and with Bates and Mongo and Winters in the middle. We will see.

We have a pretty damn good team with the only franchise QB in the Division which we need to pay next year along with Edmonds if we want him. So Beane is looking for long term success. The addition of Sanders is good and resigning our own is great. I still think we get a free agent Edge rusher or Beane has his eyes on a couple of players in the draft and will trade up to get them. If we kept all our draft picks only 2 or 3 will make the team anyway.

  14. Buddy Johnson LB Texas A&M dude can play in a tough conference two

Seth Wiliams WR Auburn Can jump though the roof a big body too 6'3" 211

Anthony Schwartz WR world class sprinter that is what we need to fill JB spot. He could play ST and learn behind a great WR room.

JORDAN SMITH EDGE UAB i like this guys size and in today's NFL it would be nice to pass down some passes (6'7" 255)

JOSHUA KAINDOH EDGE FSU Beane probably saw him today 5-star recruit out of college great size 6'7 260

AARON HANSFORD LB Texas A&M I like this guy too because he was a WR his first two years got hurt and came back as a LB. He is raw but lots of talent and good size 6'3" 245 and can cover TE's in our division we need that.

I would sign any of the Texas A&M Offensive linemen too as UDFA that line played great this year but they get no love. I would take a look at them for depth if anything.

  15. I was thinking about this a lot lately and I have come to this conclusion. When Beane signed Butler and Jefferson for the D-line last year he did that counting on Lotulelei (6'2" 315) to play all year. So I give him a pass on how poor our pass rush was last year. Star being out not only effected our pass rush IMO but it also didn't help in the development of Oliver either. I think with Star coming back this season it will free up some more guys to rush the passer because he commands a double team most of the time and last year noone on our line commanded one. So I think you will see some improvements next year with the guys we have....also not saying we wont draft an edge rusher or another D tackle to help either. In fact now would be a good time to draft another one to mirror Star as he gets older and I don't think he will be around much longer.  Here are some of my picks...

    Marvin Wilson FSU 6'3 319

    Tyler Shelvin LSU 6'3" 346

Bobby Brown III TAM 6'3" 325

    Naquan Jones MSU 6'4" 338

All guys that played the 1-tech in college and all can play stuff the run. All should be available in the second round or later (might have to move up to get a couple in the second). I just think we need to start looking for backups to learn from the guys getting older. It is ok for guys to sit a year or get the left over snaps. Thoughts...

  16. Do you think AJ Kline can play DE? His best trait last year was rushing the passer IMO. His size is pretty close to most DE's on the team he should only have to put on like 10 Lbs. Just wondering. Can't see him getting plaid all that money just to back up Milano? Thought

Yea the team is basically status quo from last season at this point... amazing season but they were clearly outmatched, outmanned, and outplayed against the AFC Champs twice.

Need to upgrade the roster not remain the same....

  17. The signing of Milano tells me exactly this...that we are making a run at the SB!! He was a part of the first draft class that McD was a part of right before they hired Beane....Keeping and signing their own is what it is all about. How much do we gain by dropping AJ and drafting a LB as a back up? Also we are still in the running for a DE I think we need to drop or get Tyler M. and I wish Lee Smith would decide if he is going to retire or not. How much do we save if Lee Smith retires vice getting cut does anyone know?

Dak isn't as good as Mahomes... But he's good enough that I wouldn't want to see the Pats sign him.

I don't know how much pull the Pats have anymore....think about it....Brady gone and happier....Gronk gone and happier.....Van Noy (who I would like to get in FA if we can't get Milano)I would be surprised if he goes back to NE....because he is a good fit there and if he doesn't go back that should say something about the moral within the Pat's organization. Nobody ever looked like they were having fun over there even when they were winning. And I don't recall any ex-pats returning after they left....

  19. I like the neutral sites being held in states that don't have an NFL franchise states like ND, SD, Wyoming, Nebraska, Oklahoma, places like that, that have NFL fans but no home team. I think that would be cooler then having games overseas for neutral site games....America First!!!

I just thought of something that would make it interesting if they aren't going to use a neutral site field for the games....Have the Superbowl or Pro Bowl winning conference as the host conference for the next years games. That would give them something to play for...an extra home game!!
