Anyone that puts Daryle Lamonica in their top QB’s that ever played in Buffalo is just trying to be cute like they actually know something.

The guy completed 42 percent of his passes and had 16 TD’s and 23 INT’s.

Let’s end the silly, stupid charade right now.

Daryle Lamonica sucked as a Buffalo Bill.

    SUCKED.

You got to take into consideration that the AFL in the mid 60's passing had those numbers.

Most QBs had around a 50% completion percentage.

Most had more INTs than TDs.

It was a completely different game.

Jack Kemp's career numbers (AFL NFL) was 114 TDs vs 183 INTs.

Lamonica started only 4 games and won them all.

He also only came in when Kemp was playing horrible and had a lot of 4th quarter comebacks.

I would of loved to see Kemp go to the Raiders in '67 and Lamonica staying Buffalo.

For all of the Oldtimers:  Imagine a Bills Message Board in the 60s!

Nope, this class was thought of as a great QB class and that hasn’t changed. QB is a strength of this draft. There will probably be 3 QBs in the top 5 picks, maybe 4-5 in the top 10.

Seems to me there also are a lot of teams wanting a QB this year too.

Better hope Jimmy G. plays great for the 49ers in the remaining games.

If not the top 3 QBs could go to Browns, 49ers and Giants.

Not to mention Jets, Cardinals and others.

I think it may not be as easy as some think for us to get in a position to get "our guy".

Or even just two of them; Giants and first Cowboys SBs.  I suspect we'd get a lot more respect as being a great franchise and Ralph as being one of the best owners.  I don't think Ralph got the respect he deserves for being an original owner who helped found what is the present NFL.

Glad he got inducted into the HOF before he passed.

He was real proud of that!

Good god time to move on......why are people obsessed with demonizing a man dead for years now that got the Bills to Buffalo and kept them there.

He cared about the league and it could likely not be what it is today without him.  And he cared deeply for the players on his team.

    I'm with you guys.

I wonder how history would of treated Ralph Wilson if his team would of WON those 4 Super Bowls in a row?

1966 Home opener versus the Chiefs and they got bomber 42 - 20; second game January 1st 1967 for the AFL Championship against the Chiefs; winner went to the first Super Bowl.  Chiefs again trounced the Bills 31 - 7, I was 0 and 2 my first year.

I was at this game; pretty ugly!

I had to wait until my 3rd game to finally see the Bills score a point!

1971 Home opener against the Cowboys.

We lost but it was a great high scoring game!

1971 Baltimore Colts @ Buffalo Bills at the old rockpile.

We had goal line seats which would've been great at the other end of the field. The Bills lost 43-0 and every point scored except for one FG was at the other end. I was thrilled though because I was a Baltimore Colts fan. That ended when they moved to Indianapolis.

I was at that game too!

I remember the Fire Department taking some guy out on a stretcher in the section next to where we were sitting.

Came to find out it was a teacher of mine's husband, he had a heart attack.

1st regular season game was the year before, LA Rams (another shutout).

First game was a preseason game in the late 60's.  I think it was Detroit Lions.

Trading for draft picks is ALL risk. plus developing the player to just the NFL game speed is no small feat.
Bird in the hand , on this one

We might think this but would anyone be surprised if we find out he was traded for a 3rd or for a player for player trade.

After this past year, I wouldn't.

Who's to say what the right move is if you're looking out 2+ years?

Good points...I think he will be around until they find his replacement...and even then he should be decent depth until his rookie contract expires and they let him walk imo.

McDermott's defense relies on the front guys getting pressure on the quarterback.    That is not his strength.   That is why I suspect they already want to replace him.

These 2 points are why I said that Shaq's situation will be interesting!

I have no idea what they will do........................................

We have so many holes to fill that keeping him is the safe thing to do.

    They are stubborn though.

  9. I think what happens to Shaq is going to be very interesting.

If McD and Beane think he is what he is...............he gone.

If they think he can improve in their system.............he stays.

Let me add, I don't have a clue what their true thoughts are about this.

I think it is as simple as that.

He was their #4 and heading to FA. I’d expect him to still get $6M+ (Woods got like $8M). I wouldn’t do it.

So you believe that this group is good enough? That’s where we disagree.

No, but I'm in the camp that we spend our best resources on QB and the trenches.

The bologna thing is hilarious. What a comment out of Myles Jack. You can tell he's warmed up to his new HC. Winning cures all. Praise the third miracle!

We all have been taking our medicine for 18 years now.

Shouldn't we be better by now?

Sure hope we are not terminal.

....agree 101%......question would be does he accept it or retire?.....my guess is retirement.......even if he went elsewhere, it would probably be for the dollars you have forecasted.......

    Retirement is my guess.

He's old like us, LOL, spirit willing but the flesh is getting weak.

Kyle has to be up pretty high on the list of:  Best players, of his years, never to be in a playoff game.

    I feel for him.

.....and we do know the "connection"......Kyle is making $8.3 mil this year and is a 2018 UFA......no way they re-sign him for anything remotely close or even at all.... Lotulelei is playing for $6.7 mil on his 5th year option......so he's probably looking in the $8 mil/yr range IMO..........

Kyle being signed for another year would be in a rotational/situational/leadership role only.

    2-3 Million tops IMHO.

I don't think they can count on him as a full time starter.
