If Bills were drafting for the army I’d agree.
For the football team, not so much.

Probably a really good one too, you know, if he ever learns how to read.

I was at Mohegan Sun when Gronk was there and just missed bumping into him(my friend did). If I ever get within earshot of Gronk- I am going to yell "Go home Gronk! We forgive you. Your family misses you. Come home to your city. Help us bring the Lombardi trophy home to Buffalo!" I think that would elicit a smile from Gronk
Who cares what it would elicit. He tried snapping our all star rookies neck like an idiotic piece of garbage.
I used to like him, I’d even defend him sometimes. He’s a piece of trash in my eyes now.

Might work out in the zone. If not, it doesn’t hurt. Another body out there competing. Anyone that has a problem with the add obviously doesn’t understand the cap or nfl football teams in general.

The word bust is thrown around too much. The kid looked good in preseason and I think a few drops got in his head.
That coupled with with some injuries he was playing with and Taylor being his qb im giving him a clean slate.

Yeah it would have been fun to watch Taylor not throw him the ball.

That’s it! Trading Hughes to the Giants for #2 and OBJ!!! Ahhh, I’m so happy!!

It is a nightmare. Unfortunately when the Jets traded up to 3 the writing was on the wall.
I think there’s still a chance we could get up there and get Mayfield but the Jets trade hurt very badly. Moreso than many want to admit, especially at obd.

Man, they go into the offseason focusing on the catch rule and then this.
I get that something needed to be done. But defensive players really did draw the short straw.
Refs are going to mess this up badly.

I'm not giving up 2 firsts to move up 6 spots.
Look at last year. We got a first next year (which is considered a second rounder) and a 3rd to drop 17 spots.
Indy didn't want to move out of top 10, let them pick their player at 6 and I will target 7 or 8 to move up.
Good thing it’s not you in charge. Really good thing!

Rosen behind this o line is scary
Nah... he just needs to get the ball out . Something Taylor couldn’t or refused to do.

So the Colts didnt trade us 3 because they didnt want to be outside the top ten, but they trade us 6?
From the sounds of it that wasn’t true. Especially if the reports of us having a deal in place before the jets swooped in are to be believed.

so we give up 12, 22 to get to 6 overall? I like the idea and the price is not too steep, however, instead of Rosen I'm hoping Mayfield is the target.
Tim-
I’d take either, and I love that we still have our twos and threes.
Thats is a lot to work with.

I like it. I also like the Matt Ryan comparison. Would be so happy with this.

To be fair he’s always been somewhat relevant. The guy was a first round pick and looked pretty good against us in a few of his drives.
I think he can still be an adequate player in the right situation. Provided he can ever get out of his own way that is.

Your fervor for trading up sure seems like you think its the only option. And your comment "People would prefer we dabble in mediocrity another 17 years. Or worse yet wait until we actually have a four win season and pick top three where there would be no guarantees there would be a guy worth picking? " sure seems you're painting with a pretty broad brush.
You dont have to quote myself for me I know exactly what I said. Again you’re telling me what I think, focusing on that and using it for the basis for your argument. People use that tactic when theyre grasping at straws.
I think it’s the best strategy for this team, this year. You see thats how opinions work. You take a look at exactly the way things are and you form an opinion about it.
Imo, the best course of action for this team are to trade up and take their shot, I feel very strongly given the cirmustances around this situation. You seem to think I believe every team in every situation should do the exact same thing and that’s why you’re 100% wrong.
Again, keep telling me what I think, it’s working out so well for you. Or you can just admit you were wrong about me and save us both time.

You paint this situation as if picking a qb in the top 3 is automatic and the only possible solution. While I agree, that would be ideal. It is by no means the only way to be successful and incredibly narrow minded and lazy.
Where did I say it’s the only way? I said imo it’s the best course of action for this team, right now.
If anyone’s painting anything it’s you painting me into a box to fit your narrative.
That, IMO, is the lazy way to have a discussion. And as far as narrow minded goes nothing is more myopic than making general asinine assumptions about another human based on a cherry picked post on a football message board.

In an unprecedented move the Dolphins contacted me, Roger Goodell and requested that they move to pick 32 to have more time for their tiny little pea brains to process their next step.

Okay, definitely swerved into crazy town.
People trading next years first all willy nilly to get into the top ten to take a guy that most likely would have been around mid 20’s?

There is Zero and I mean Zero chance of QBs being drafted with the first 3 picks.
I mean, it’s obvious one and three are taking qbs.
That leaves the Giants who could possibly be interested in drafting a qb or trading the pick to a qb needy team.
I dont understand how a reasonable or logical person could guarantee that with any amount of certainty.

No, it's definitely relevant in context of our franchise futility.
It also goes hand in hand with our terrible GM's, coaches, and management philosophy prior to Beane. And in terms of this board, we have yet again countless people in the "kick the ahead to next year yet again!" camp...the same people who always say "wait until next year" to draft a QB because they're afraid everyone is a bust if they're not automatically labeled the best QB of all time prior to stepping foot in the league.
100% relevant.
Exactly. This is the draft we’ve been accruing picks for. This is the draft with three viable qbs (imo). This is the time.
People would prefer we dabble in mediocrity another 17 years. Or worse yet wait until we actually have a four win season and pick top three where there would be no guarantees there would be a guy worth picking?
Take the shot.

...and just like that the draft went from slightly unrealistic (but still fun) to madden.
Player trades should have have been banned.

I’ve accepted we won’t be able to draft him. Jets moving to three killed us.
Hopefully Mayfield is the next target. Still have to face Rosen twice a year. Ugh...
