That's the spirit.
sorry let me rephrase that and get ready to post later: “[guy Bills pick] is clearly an upgrade over Diggs and instantly top 10 in league, while Reid and Mahomes will be clueless how to use [guy KC picks] and he will probably bust” -
Those of you not upset we didn’t trade up or trade for a #1 yet. Chiefs are going to also get a WR tonight. We aren’t gonna pass them

Need to trade for a #1WR. depending on a rookie past those top 3 in a Super Bowl window is malpractice

No picks by midnight? What kind of trade is Beane arranging?
meant end of draft, fixed👍

I'm falling into a deep depression with the realizations that (a)No matter how many times we trade down, my thirst for picks will not be quenched, and (b) by the end of the draft we will have ZERO picks. They'll all be transformed into players taking up precious cap space which I have a growing hunger for.

The Bills have a good spread of picks at the moment, excluding the 3rd round. Going all in on a WR, in a WR deep draft, is a gamble - which is what they will doing with that proposal.
Yep, but not as big of a gamble as you'd think. MHJ, Nabers, or Odunze each would be the top of their WR class in most years so the only reason we have a shot at a #1 is because of the depth.
Joe Marino was asked where they'd rank over all WR prospects from the past three years and he said they're the top three. Of course he still doesn't want to trade up because he has the same unquenchable thirst for picks as the rest of you.

With the highest at 160.
Are you implying that the earlier picks are more likely to be good players? Like, just for example, the 28th picks versus the 9th pick?

6 to be exaxt
and the one at 9, that still counts as a pick right? Or is it a player as soon as it's used. Oh man we're gonna have no picks soon

Absolutely no way I’m giving up the whole draft and next years first for number 9
The whole draft? Am I missing something? We end up with 7 picks this year in that scenario.

Yeah we don't need young players on the team, let's just not draft at all. This is awful
Like who? What other needs do we have that can't be filled with the other 6 picks we'd still have this year, free agency, and next year's picks?

How much is “not too much”? We don’t have a 3rd.
2 2nds, this years and next, probably gets it done. Obviously for the right player.
I was speaking relative to those discussing getting up in the top ten.
Actually, looking at this chart I just googled, one 2nd would be enough to get to 20. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp

JSN fell to 20 last year. Wouldn't cost too much to get to that range if someone falls.

Day 3 guys are half the price and on the roster for 4 years. Going the merc route is fine but you are in the same place the following year. This year Buffalo should be players with UFA’s aswell. Less packed 53 so more chances for guys to make the roster.
Ignored my point about day 3 guys being unproven. They're unlikely to even make the roster.

Everyone saying we need the picks to fill out the roster. How many players did we sign last offseason for 1.7 mil? They were proven NFL players too, not unknown rookies. Buffalo fans' obsession with draft picks and cap space is annoying and clearly residual mental damage from the drought.

My 2024 cap projection says they’ll be under it

I hope things change in FA before the draft, but at present the DL depth chart is:
DT: Ed Oliver, Eli Ankou
DE: Greg Rousseau, Von Miller (who showed nothing last season) and Kingsley Jonathan
Again, right now, that would be the worst DL in the league. At DT, I would not even want Ankou starting while a rookie learns. DE is not much better - Rousseau is good when healthy, Miller will be 36 and is really just a hope that he can regain some decent form and I know Tasker says they like Jonathan, but he is really unproven.
I am not arguing not to take a WR in the 1st, but it seems possible to still get a decent X receiver in the 2nd, where DT and DE look less deep.
first of all, I thought this is a WR thread.
second, there are always veteran DTs sitting around even after FA and into the season every single year.- 2

I'd argue this year with throwing into tight windows was a top 3 defense at the top of its game vs AJ Klein, a severely hampered Douglass and a bunch of other injuries.
What AJ Klein level mismatch did the Chiefs have on their defense that the Bills could have exploited to get those wide open windows?
Not sure but the Bengals were missing most of their o line the year prior and still couldn’t get any pressure

how many years they lose in divisional in a row? -
He wanted to come here too

Alright I’ll just say it. I could do a better job than him but I will bring up 9/11 a lot more

I’m not on the fire McD train. Since 6-6 his D has been very good and sans injuries would have won today. I’m not surprised his D doesn’t match up well against Reid’s O as it’s based on Jimmy Johnson’s scheme, which Reid is very familiar with.
I don’t know how any new HC comes in here and gets back to this level in < 3 years, wasting more of Allen’s prime.
You do however need to improve talent at WR (and other) and dump the ST coach for the punting, punt return, and FG debacles this year.
two things from your comment.
1) you’re forgiving everything that got us to 6-6
2) Miami D was decimated by injuries as well, and McD has never been able to stop KC, Reid, Mahomes, Kelce regardless of health

As much as I wanted and still want Sean fired that 2nd and 9 play from Josh where he went for the end zone with over 1:50 still left passing up a WIDE OPEN Diggs underneath that would have milked some more clock and gotten a first down or third and short. You are playing Mahomes who won a game against you with only 13 seconds left, why in the world are you trying to score with all that time left on the clock? I'm as confused as I was when Pete Carroll decided to pass and not run Lynch into the end zone. This one is on Josh as much as I love him and defend him.
Then why did we kick the field goal using your logic? They definitely would’ve scored on our d coordinator
