  1. We lost/traded more high end talent last year, compared to this year.   We didn't splash in free agency, but we did clean the Salary Cap slate for next year. Good teams hit on their draft picks and extend them after their rookie contracts.  Our talent pool is thin due to poor drafts for a decade.  I expect to sign a few camp cuts from other teams, compete for 6 to 9 wins, and continue to build for the post-Brady AFC East.

...do we even know what the hell we have with guys getting healthy, re-signings, draftees, etc before automatically thinking the "grass MUST be greener on the other side"?....how about the ongoing dichotomy of opinions on "$16 Mil Sammy"?.............

I know we don’t have Julio Jones. Our WR corps has a combined 1 good season.  Stop looking for a feel good story.

  3. An optimistic approach:

It is unlikely, but possible they trade him.  He would have to commit to a long holdout and force Atlanta's hand.  He has multiple years left on his deal and he just watched guys like Sammy Watkins get  $16 mil/yr.  Julio averages around $14mil/yr.  (I don't know exactly how it's paid out.)  This is not exactly a Jason Peters situation, but they share the concept of ownership not extending the contract with multiple years left in the deal.  The Falcons also drafted Calvin Ridley in the first round this year.  We have the cap space, who knows what the asking price would be.

  4. Any Syracuse fans have a thought on Steve Ishmael in the later rounds?  I thought he was a man amongst boys in many games I watched. He seemed to get a bunch of Offensive Pass Interference called on him, but only because he was so much more physical than the DB's he faced.  He didn't get a combine invite, which doesn't see right after a monster senior year.  He showed up against big time talent.  11 catches against LSU, 12 against Florida State, 6 for 70 yds and a score in the Clemson upset.  A Syracuse diehard might have a better take on him.
