He's the 13th highest paid TE and he has a whopping 661 career receiving yards. I'm sure Beane sees some upside, but this looks like a huge overpay on the surface.

I like the other signings. That one, not so much.

Well he’s been a blocking tight end with few opportunities that is surprisingly fast and can catch the ball. For a team like Buffalo who can’t draw all the best prospects in, we have to take some chances. Here’s a guy with upside, can you coach him up and give him some opportunities with Allen. Looks like a decent red zone target.

Hate it for for this price. I save this signing for a wait and see, then get him for a cheap 1-2 year deal. You miss out on him oh well.

Why don't fans understand that with the cap space jumping up, players will be paid more?  Obviously deals are going to be very inflated this year but that will continue to rise if the cap keeps going up.

I do think that some of you who are sensitive to the realities of losing football should start a club on TSW where you can get in a circle and gently discuss how great the Bills are.

If that's what you need.........by all means get it.

Just come back here if you want content like people knowing MONTHS ahead of time about players/trades that will eventually be available to the Bills..........that kind of content comes from people who take a realistic look at the league and unfortunately reality hasn't been kind to the Bills for the last couple decades or so.?

I guess the entire offseason is already over and Beane didn't add a single player to our team.  Antonio Brown was a unique situation.  He very obviously didn't want to be in the city of Buffalo, end of discussion.  Patience is a virtue my friend.  Take a breath and drink some water.  Haven't even gotten to signing period yet lol.  Offseason anticipation disease has set into a lot of fans and has for months.  Don't worry the wait is almost over haha.  Getting this ridiculous over a handful of moves so far is just a classic Buffalo fan response.  You do realize there are 1,700 players in the league and trades happen all the way up through past september right? Can we get some level-headed fans up in here please.

The exciting thing about trading for Clark is to pair him with Hughes. The two together would wreck shop.

What about drafting Ed Oliver at #9 and putting him together with Hughes and Clark. Scary!

I’d do this and then add an edge rusher in the middle rounds to learn before Hughes enters his last year.

I think that’s the reason they want to add a rusher in a unique way, they know a top DT is going to fall and they are going to take them and create the defensive havoc upfront that McDermotts system relies on.

If we are swapping picks both in the 1st and 2nd round that equates to a value of a late first round pick. I think there is some sense to that for both parties.

I'm sure it does but to be able to keep all of the picks...that'd be something.  20th is still a pretty good spot in this draft.  Great spot to pick offensive lineman or a tight end...

What I just heard was a swap of first and second round picks, if that's the case, throw in a third and I'm ecstatic.

I don't know if it would work about, but the entertainment value would be amazing.

If that's the case, I'd be thrilled to keep most of our picks.  I'll swap and day haha.  This is a deep class of talent.  That would be the best case scenerio IMO.

Not only that, the team is less talent deficient now which makes buffalo more attractive by default. They’re multiple years away from being relevant without major trades or free agents.

If they were able to keep their 1st this year and give up something like their 2nd and a 3rd, I'd be wagging that 9th pick in everyones face to trade back and recover some of the picks.

The only thing with AB is everyone knew that they had to trade him. Which kills the compensation. His value was at an all time low given his stupid mouth the last few weeks and the Steelers GM saying they were trading him. If it goes through I’m really hoping it’s a round 3 with a couple players attached. Maybe ivory and Zay or something.

    I have a fear it’s the #1 though.

I think the Steelers would demand a 1.  His situation did indeed lower his value but he's still arguably the best receiver in the NFL.  Tough to say.  I'd love to keep all of our 1st but who knows.

I have never said it since he’s been here but if Beane gave multiple firsts for a receiver who HAD to be traded he should be fired instantly

I don't think he would give that up obviously but when was the last time the best receiver was traded?  In 2019, I don't know what kind of compensation that requires, especially in this weird situation.

Forget tight ends.  Bring back the Run & Shoot!  We'll have 4 WRs & 1 RB on the field at all times.

Except in recent years, tight ends who can catch are the biggest mismatches on the field. I can throw a couple of corners on some receivers, who are you gonna put on a 6’6” tight end that can run fast?

I believe the receivers will go sooner then most people think , IMO there may be as many as 3/4 that will go in the 1st round

Okay, have you looked at the class?  It's much deeper than just 3-4 guys.

I get the impression from previous drafts, and what they say, that their game plan is to just see what falls to them in each round.  Trade back if there are multiple prospects available that are high on their draft board, or trade up if they feel like they might lose out on a high prospect.

So I think you are absolutely correct in saying "take whatever top talent falls to us at 9", but if they see the top talent at 9 being a WR I don't think they would hesitate to grab that WR.  Same can be said for any position group.

    BPA...BPA....BPA....

I simply think that the wide receiver position has it's best value rounds 2-4.  I don't see many WRs that are talented enough to be drafted at 9 and due to the depth of the class, I see many being available to us in the rounds I suggested.

  12. The second round is one of the sweet spots in this class for getting a solid WR.  I'd rather take whatever top talent falls to us at 9 and grab a WR in the second.  A second round receiver and a fourth round receiver or a trade back up into the third would be the ideal spots to take a receiver in this class IMO.

Move Lo to DE? Maybe, but he's listed at 245. Do you think he'd want to add 10-20 lbs for 1 last season? I don't know if he'd be too thrilled about that move since he just had what was arguably his best season. I'd still like to have Barr for the long term, though.

No need to add weight or give him a defined position.  He played the DT position on some third downs last year. His technique gives him an advantage.  I'm sure he will be used wherever we need him.  His versatility will be really important.  McDermott is all about finding more players that can play multiple positions on the defense. It helps with disguising packages.

  14. At the end of the day, it's entertainment.  Does it really matter in our lives, no.  Step back and see the bigger picture.  So why can't we watch a game where we root for another team or better yet, root for both of the teams that are playing?  I want to see a good game, that's why I'm watching, entertain me.  Everyone is different. If you are a competitive me-vs-you type of person, you are probably on the side of being a Bills fan only.  If you look at it as entertainment and don't have the need to be competitive, then every team in the league can be interesting to watch. As I get older, however, I find myself pulling away from the sport because of what it has shown itself to be.   Many more important things to do in this life than to just be a Bills fan.
