The single most important reason for the Rams leap forward is their qb. The franchise gave up a lot of picks to acquire their franchise qb. Compare that to the Bills who have not had a franchise qb for nearly a quarter of a century.

^^ this ..   as nearly ALL franchise "turnarounds".

Okay, so I was curious and went back and looked at Tyrod 3rd quarter and Petermans two drives.

12 different players spotted due to substitutions.

    Tyrod - defense players 21,25,26,48,50,52,57,91,92,93,95,98

    Nate  - defense players 20,21,25,26,31,50,51,52,57,83,92,98

There were only 4 players [48,91,93,95] that were in the game for Taylor but not in the game for Peterman.

Thank you.... never been a fan of selective "statistics". It puts the OP in perspective.

I am not writing out the names, but one excited poster showed Peterman completing a pass to Benjamin as the greatest example of reading a defense.

I decided to see who was on the field for NO......

    21,25,26,50,57,91,92,93 are the #'s I could see.......

Checked their stats and seems almost everyone was a non-starter, special teams player......

Congrats our starters (and Peterman now is the starter) had a TD drive vs. their garbage time players....

Truly curious (I don't have rewind).... what were the numbers out there on Tyrod's last drive? For comparison purposes. Those MIGHT have been the same folks Tyrod "produced" against.

Do you think ANY of these players cared about this game 30-45 minutes after if???

Yes. Yes I do. Getting the crap kicked out of you on your home field, in front of your home crowd hearing boos absolutely affects players. I would imagine if one were to ask most high end athletes they would say this bothered them. Most of the pro athletes I know are uber competitive and remember games years later. Ask the players on the losing end of our shellacking of the Raiders in 1990 51 to 3.

However, I agree with your overall point that there is no need to feel sorry for a multimillionaire playing a game as a full time job.

The good thing is most sane Bills fans are not calling for Beane or McD to be fired. However those same sane fans absolutely are correct to not fully buy into the new buzzword “of Process”.

And there rightfully should be accountability in terms of discussing the flawed roster they built this year.

^this. It is extremely hard to rebuild. We have not had a top flight qb in forever. Anyone who points to good well-run front offices will inherently have a good to elite QB to build around.

It's strange. Almost like a switch was turned. This isn't the same team we saw earlier on in the year.

I agree. The biggest issue that I see is tackling. At the start of the year when the Bill's D touched someone they went down thus good D. Now it appears that people are running through every arm tackle.  It is just odd the SUDDEN change!

You're overreacting. Example for perspective ask Lebron James if he gives a krap about fans. Besides Tyrods didn't comment to piss off fans. He is no different than any other paid athelete.

Wait.. .  what? Did you JUST compare Tyrod being benched to LeBron James? wow...

I understand the Saints were probably in a big-time prevent defense, and didn't show a lot of complex looks to Peterman.  I also know that he made some nice throws..throws with D-men in his face that Taylor rarely makes.

I want to see more of Peterman as the season progresses.

The Saints were in prevent 1/2 through the 3rd quarter. We saw BOTH QBs vs a prevent. One excelled and one didnt.

It's day and night though right?

In 2 games Jax's run D has rose from the worst in the league to the best and the Bills run D did the exact opposite over these last couple NFL weeks alone.

I 100% agree it is a "night and day difference" HOWEVER so hasn't the bad tackling been a major difference. If one goes to when Dareus was on the team - the defense run statistics weren't that much different from when he was in the game or out. IF we extrapolate that information... it would sort of show pretty close to zero correlation with Dareus and our defensive run game.

I am not a Dareus hater NOR I am sad he is gone. I just think people look for easy answers when things do not go well and all the "hot takes" without further analysts shows. But I guess that is what makes a forum a forum!
