the execs in my company have a group of corporate chefs that cook for them and if rumor is to be believed food tasters too.  my boss is a director so she just gets a crappy per diem

In other words, she's the food tester without being told as such. :o)

  2. I hate you guys.  Why you gotta scare me like this?  The bills had damned well better not sell the stadium for a one shot on the roulette wheel.  That's WAY too much to pay.  Hell, he would still need an oline and WRs!   What would we do then?  Start interviewing the buff state Bengals for seniors or drop out juniors to play for us?  :o)

If I were the browns I would make the deal for sure!  They would totally own the draft this year with all those picks they have and all that we give them.  Dang.

Please no.  Stay at 12 before giving it all away.  Do it.

Of course we'd be upset if we don't get a top 4 QB, but even more so if we take him a round or 2 ahead of where he's projected and wasting a pick that we paid so much for. Throw in the fact that none of the 2019 QB's look very good and I don't see how Beane and McD keep their jobs beyond 2019. I'd just get a guy like Lauletta in the 4th or 5th as an emergency option.

So you would essentially advocate for firing them for ending the playoff streak?  Cause that's why we landed at 21.

Love the draft.  Perfect combination of football during a dry spell, boundless hope and optimism, the human drama of kids making good on their life's ambition.  So much better now that they don't tip the picks (unless you seek out spoilers).  A++ would watch again.

Dry spell?  March madness just ended amd nba playoffs are going on along with MLB and soon NHL playoffs.  Ha.  Just messin with ya.  Human drama was on high last year with the gas mask bong.  Hole-E!

the baby bombers are fun!  Even have a 5'7 infielder; altuve is 5'6 and won Am league Nov last year.  Very young group.  They won 14-1 last night.

Houston returns with even better pitching than that which won them the world series last fall and the yankees return even younger and more offensively potent than the offense that got them to game 7 of the alcs last fall.  Then there's the red sox who are winning every game; bastards.

football may be king but baseball is still great; for those that like that sort of thing.

  6. The combine is worse by FAR but it's not highly rated so that's out.  Same for WNBA someone listed - no hype there to begin with - shoot, they need more love.

I vote television golf.  The game is fine but how to just watch it for hours with the sleepy whisper commentators?  Hell, I even love baseball too.  PGA is on the Tele way too much imo.  I don't get it.  At least nascar has infighting, crashes and loud noises. . .not something I'm sitting hours staring at either though.

Most under hyped for the quality of watching is tennis I think.  Tons of action, fast paced and often many tense moments all through the match where the final outcome is affected.  That game in the first set where your player lost on his service can haunt him hours later as he needs to maybe win a complete extra set over it.  And, when McEnroe played there was drama and anger too.  Ha.

Replace some of the golf with tennis!  Cripes - I've been far more engaged in curling on the tv than I ever have golf.  :o)

  7. As stated by others, the jets need to move up three spots - the Bills needed to move up 18 spots to get that.  No comparison.  Fact of it is that we all (most all) wanted playoffs in 17 even though we knew it was not even close to being our year.  We got what we wanted and now have the hangover from it.

Here, I think many here may be well advised to brush up on this ahead of thursday:

    • Shock. ...
    • Denial. ...
    • Anger. ...
    • Bargaining. ...
    • Grieving. ...
    • Acceptance.

Hopefully this doesn't happen.  If it does, I'd like to see the Bills trade back as many times as possible for as many 1st round picks in 2019 as possible.  I know this won't be a popular idea, but the Bills have a ton of draft capital.  Given that each draft pick next year is worth 1 round less than picks from this year, if the Bills traded down in exchange for 2019 draft picks they could do what Cleveland just did and own the draft for the next few years and get a QB next year.

If they do this then they had better not go and try for the danged playoffs again this year - unless they already have a top 5 first round pick for '19 in hand

Mentally, you don't suffer from that nor recover just like that

Meh.  You never had a bad trip it sounds like.  Can take days to get one's **** back together but not necessarily a permanent issue.   I'll bet he will be fine if the Bills are OK with it and he can improve at catching footballs.  Ha.

    Nudity, LSD?  Not quite

Nudity and LSD absolutely.  See 60s culture.  Plenty of grateful dead anecdotes on the matter.  Europe 72 concerts in Germany being some.amusing ones - the German ushers were dosed and taking off their clothes even.  Fired em all and then the next night the new crew had the same happen.

I don't know.  But whatever valuations Beane puts on the players, I hope he sticks to that valuation.  In other words if it calls on to mortgage the farm on a player and they believe that is their guy, then go for it.  If they put a lesser valuation on that player and now are forced to go above that value, then pass and move on to the next option.

    Someone trusts the process!  Lol

Thank you (most all) for the sane responses.   I opened this thread expecting to hear most everyone clamoring to give away the farm for 2.  12 and 22 plus a third to move up to four is sane.

Beane's job isn't predicated on hope. He needs to gauge the QB draft market correctly and position the team for long term sustained success by acquiring a franchise QB.

Yet trading away five or six non QB high picks for a shot at that 1 QB kid pans out is the very definition of hope.  It's hope of the "put it all on red 12" at the roulette wheel.  Screw gambling - play the game smart and slow and know when to stay pat.

  13. Wait a minute, wait a minute - wait a minute!  (Anyone remember the tiny tot of the KW guy?  The press box hostesses hated him at then pilot field when I worked the suites one summer).

Does this mean that yesterday's nonsense thread about a twitter prediction of huge news (deleted around 4:30 yesterday, perhaps due to me) was actually right??

Miami still has far, far less draft capital than Buffalo.

Just curious how far some here would go to get colt's #3.  Would anyone give both 21,22 and both seconds for that spot?

If yes what about 21,22, one second round plus shady for it?
