what a ridiculous post but not surprising considering the source.

Nothing ridiculous about it, the last 24 hours have been a epic failure for this franchise.

Whether it was botching the Wood retirement (and who knows how this drama is going to play out) and all these questionable coaching announcements/changes a very familiar stench is coming from One Bills Drive.

  2. I haven't truly cared about the SB in years since the Bills haven't been to one in over 20 years.

But as an NFL fan in general hard not to be interested in this one knowing the Patriots are about to win 3 out of 4 superbowls for the 2nd time in NFL history and set new NFL records in the process for essentially becoming a dynasty twice under the same head coach/QB.

  3. If we wouldn't have found a great (and possibly better) replacement for Gilmore in Tre White I'd certainly be disappointed for letting him walk and sign with the Pats.

But make no mistake about it, Gilmore Island is finally open for business and he's playing the best football of his career for the Pats since coming back from a mid season injury and struggling a bit early in the season.

I think the Bills Wire draft is more like Plan D.

    Plan A sign FA (Cousins)

Plan B trade for (Smith, Keenum, Luck) etc.

Plan C trade up for the guy you like (Rosen, Mayfield) etc.

Plan D Tyrod, with a project draft like (White)

Plan Z start Nate Peterman, release TT and go with Savior Peterman plan

The reason I think McBeane like plan A and B is they can then retain draft capital to restock SOME positional needs. They will of course have to give a higher pick up depending on who you're trading for.

I still think a lot of fans are going to be disappointed when we don't spend big money on a FA QB or give up the farm to move up and draft one.

So say what you want about NP, but still think there is a major disconnect between Beane and McD and the fans in terms of NP viability as a 2018 starting QB option.

Bottom line, no team out there is going to trade with the Bills and pass on an elite blue chip talent like Sam Darnold. And if they did they'd ask for way more than any draft trade chart says is equal value.

Tanner Lee isn't going to be drafted.

I seriously doubt that happens, he has too much talent and ability plus he's not a headcase with any off the field baggage or drama.

I have him graded out as a 4th round prospect and believe he'll go somewhere around here. Best case for Lee though might be to land on a team with an established franchise QB so he's not thrown into the fire and can develop properly for a few years.

I live SaviorPeterman!! Tanner Lee is atrocious. I remember watching him at Tulane and thinking “how is this guy playing here?”

Nobody is disputing that Lee's college career was less than stellar, but there are many reasons behind it and not all NFL franchise QB's come into the league with stellar W/L records and stats behind them.

This is why he'd be a pure dark horse, but the talent is there and he checks off pretty much every box the NFL scouting world is looking for.

I talked to the Devil and he told me part of the deal was Tom Brady had to lose his last Superbowl. I think this might be the year.

I would love that to be the case but still don't see Brady retiring now that they dumped what looks like a sure fire franchise QB in Jimmy G.

And if the Eagles were to somehow pull of the biggest SB upset since the Giants beat the Bills in the SB, it would likely motivate Brady and company even more. No way he wants to go out a loser.

Dude - do you really believe this or are you just trolling???  Pretty sure NP will be a 1st rounder???  I sure hope so but the reality right now doesn't support such a ludicrous statement.

It's not ludicrous if you look at what NP showed as a rookie and project him to take a huge step in year 2, 3, etc.

Nothing is guaranteed but I still feel that we struck gold with NP just like we did with most of the 2017 draft picks. The talent and intangibles are there which is why TT was benched for him in the first place. He just needs to continue to hit the gym to improve arm strength (which was mostly fine anyway as a rookie) and avoid the turnovers.

But getting back on topic, Tanner Lee could be even better in the long run if he lands on the right team and is developed properly.

  9. Just now, Dr. Who said:

Wouldn't Kyle Lauletta be a more plausible fella insofar as Senior Bowl success might actually improve his draft stock?  But OP is a provocateur and not really serious, so all this is besides the point.

Yes he would, in fact I've heard that Hoodie and the Pats front office have Lauletta high on their radar/draft board as another potential Jimmy G type of QB.

So if this is true I would pounce if I'm Beane given the Pats sterling record with QB's of late. It's no secret that they are in the market to find Brady's next replacement to develop a few years until he's finally gone.

  10. FYI - when I say this year's NP, I obviously mean a steal that was drafted later than he should be.

Because in a few years when all these pundits do their '2017 redrafts' pretty sure NP will be a 1st rounder, maybe even top 10 pick depending how his career goes.

In fact I already saw one that had Patrick Mahomes as  top 5 draft pick if they could redo it today, and he's a very similar player to NP just with a much bigger arm.

Isn't that Jim Overdorf's responsibility?  Why would such a clause be included IF he has previous degenerative neck damage.

It is time for Jim Overdorf to be let go?

Still have no idea why this clown is employed by the Pegulas.

Oh wait nevermind it's because his good buddy Russ Brandon insisted on it. (who also should be long gone).

  12. Nobody can say this extension was a bad decision, but Wood did have an injury history with this team including breaking his leg twice midseason and missing the rest of the year on two separate occasions.

The only issue I had with the extensions is thought it might be a bit premature because Wood has never truly been an elite center, just very good and consistent in most cases but certainly not top shelf compared to some of his peers.

Regardless it's a moot point and not worth debating given his untimely end to his NFL career.

  13. If we draft a mid round QB to develop as a backup behind NP I'd take a hard look at Tanner Lee.

He didn't wow folks at the Sr. Bowl and his college career wasn't the greatest on paper, but he has all the prototypical NFL starting QB qualities that NFL front offices and coaching staffs drool over.

  14. I'm hearing a lot of buzz around Tanner Lee despite his less than stellar Sr. Bowl showing. And considering he wasn't even the greatest college QB some would wonder what the hype is about.

But quite frankly he could be this year's Nathan Peterman since he has a lot of raw skill and pretty much all the tools that NFL scouts and GM's tend to covet.....most notably the size, arm strength, leadership and accuracy.

Regardless I don't expect him to be drafted too high unless there is a true desperation run at QB's this year. He's probably more of a round  3 - 5 type of guy and I have him graded out as a 4th rounder on my big board. But if we are looking for another solid developmental prospect to compete for the backup job behind Peterman he might be a good choice in the mid rounds if he's still available.

What's the salary cap implications?  He just signed a 2 year extension this year.  Will there be a dead cap like him being cut?  Or would the Bills recoup all that $ since he is retiring?  And not trying to be insensitive to him, he's a great guy and player.  Just wondering since roughly $8 million a year is a big chunk for cap reasons

We are in big trouble unfortunately because of the extension, will seriously hamper this teams offseason plans now because of the impending $10 million cap hit.

Groy is probably going to be the guy by default but this obviously opens up another glaring hole to pursue in FA and the draft.

Not sure what the venom is all about specifically with his original post.  His post both stated something that was both authentic and links to where it was reported.  Anyone on this board would have wrote this exact thread and do all the time.

There about 1000 worse threads and titles on this board than this.  The wierdest part is how people are screaming about how YOLO and 26 had posted the link in other threads just before him.  Well how is that a fair criticism?  How would anyone know that someone posted a link in an unrelated thread?  And who cares, things are reported 400 times by people with every new story.  Besides, it’s not like it already had its own thread, just seem like unnecessary venom.  Can’t defend any other issues people have with SP,  just specifically talkig about this thread.

People apparently like Yolo and 26 more so it's ok for them to 'exploit' this (I like them too by the way).

But heaven forbid I post the same thing, it's obviously 'trolling' (a word many people still don't even understand).
