More than likely a combination of both McDermott and defensive players. They always come up small in big moments.

The defensive players always get beat.

Soft prevent defense is the issue and always has been since the Houston wc meltdown...that's the hc decision to adjust out of what had been working and trying to scratch out a last second win

You're gonna get beat playing 20 yards of the wrs

I’ve seen them do everything and get beat in these moments. Everyone always talks about how off the DBs were in the 13 seconds game. But before that they played press man with safety help and got beat for a long TD by Hill.

It doesn’t matter because we lack clutch playmakers on defense. That’s why they gave Von $100 million but our luck he tears his ACL.

It's McDermott and deep down you know it lmao....his defense allowed Mac Jones to do to us what mahomes did...allowed tyrod Taylor to do the same if not for refs not calling dpi...allowed kyler murray to do it...allowed baker Mayfield also if Godwin looks up..allowed Watson in Houston ot also.....ITS MCDERMOTT

    Not really.

In 2019 we were starting Star Lotuleli, Trent Murphy and Jerry hughes on the D-Line.

2020 had 3 new starters and by 2022 we had an entirely new D-line and two new starting CB's.

Yet results always remain the same...ladies and gents Buffalo has never had the right hc,dc,st,or oc since allen has been a Bill

    Right.

And, everyone knows McDermott didn’t blame Leslie for that game. He blamed the special teams coach and fired him.

Frazier was last season’s McDermott scapegoat.

This year it has been Ken Dorsey.

Meanwhile, Sean’s defense can’t stop any offense when the game is on the line.

Who will he blame for that?

Injuries will be his excuse and players not executing his broken defense how he delusionally envisions it in his head

He and his brother are basically scumbags.  Not really sure he is a guy you want to bring in.

personally I would never hire either him or his brother.

if they were to however Buffalo would run the hell out of the ball and Kincaid would have huge numbers.

That's the problem in Buffalo..we have valued the nice guy with high character qualities while we watch the scumbags hoist Lombardis every season...give me a scumbag if it gets us a lombardi

He "lucked" into Allen?  Yes, some luck is involved when you are selecting 7th, but don't forget the two trades he pulled off to move up from 23, including getting Cincinnati's 12-pick for Cordy Glenn and a bag of jocks.

Again he has focused too much on defense in our drafts and signed old fa defensive players....just the von signing is an aj brown,Mike evans, devante Adam's caliber wr opposite diggs....and those are indisputable FACTS

Plus no one knew allen would turn into what he has...not bean..not McDermott..not a soul...that sir is luck on Beans behalf allen grew into who he now is!...too bad bean has pretty much threw hotdogs at the offense since while serving up burnt filet mignon to the defense side of the ball

Again. We have a team capable of winning a Super Bowl. Beane is why.

Bean did two things and that is luck into allen and get diggs but diggs could have been Jefferson so I'm gonna say 1 thing real well....he has focused a disproportionate amount of our top draft picks and FA money on the wrong side of the ball with aged players and now that they are starting to decline we are in cap hell over his mismanagement..he is the gm equivalent of McDermott and I don't get all the love for the guy....you want to see a successful gm? Go look at the eagles gm

Better roster? I mean in every big loss we can point to our biggest players coming up short.

I see it as our biggest players are being forced into a broken system designed and ran by McDermott...our defense philosophy is playing not to lose and lose is what they do

I’ve heard Beane say McDermott started trusting the front office more and more. This was probably 2020. I think after 2020 Beane started getting more control and influence because he earned it.

I honestly don’t know if they keep Beane after firing McDermott.

As for poorly coached, I definitely don’t agree with that. Overall throughout McDermott’s tenure they are one of the best coached teams in the league. The problem seems to come in crunch time. But a lot of times the players are in position to make plays they just can’t make the play.

Better coached team? Or simply a better roster than most of the teams we beat? Can't even say that this yr as we have lost numerous games we had no business losing and its 100% on the bald clappers head

Man, calling him a poor man's Dick Jauron is too far. He was absolutely terrible as a coach in every facet. A Ralph bargain basement special. If you want to say McDermott was same level I guess i could see that. But debating he's sub-jauronimo level is a bridge too far for me!

Juaron never had half the roster McDermott has

Sad it took so long for so many of you to see McDermott was the problem. A vocal minority of us on this board have been trashed for seeing earlier what you all only now see.

I've been suspended twice for doing what everyone else on this board does..SHARING MY OPINION

If it was rigged .. wouldn’t they want the Bills to win this game?

Eagles are 9-1 and cruising home ..

Bills still have some big games coming up.., so now they are going be “out” already…?

No they want to guarantee philly gets homefield..they want the kelce butt brother bowl and kelce gf serenading him for the halftime show duh

(Please don't merge this with the thread complaining about the Bills/Eagles officiating.  This is different, with wider scope, and not limited to the Bills.)

There have always been suspicions that the NFL is fixed, but this year seems almost blatent.  There have been a ton, a ton of badly officiated games this season, and not just involving the Bills.  The NFL is in bed with Vegas and the gambling apps, that much is fact.

So, my question is, what do you believe?  I don't believe the league is outright scripted.  But I do believe they have preferences, and are not afraid to unleash the officials to get the outcomes they want, based on trends.

I hate to be that guy.  I hate to think about conspiracy theories.  But the officiating all around the league has been laughably bad/questionable the whole season.

Once vegas got involved it's absolutely a certainty it's skewed and teams are being guided by the refs and its being masqueraded as human error ....the refs are swaying games big time and it's obvious

    1 minute ago, Buffalo_Stampede said:

You can’t do it. Too many people involved. But you can have 1-2 bad apples and they can do enough damage.

How can't it be done? A few bad officials being paid $$$$ absolutely can make it happen....you get 6 or so refs throw a boatload of hush money at them and instruct them what to do....in the nfl a few key bad calls no calls are usually enough to change outcomes

I honestly was in shock that he did that.

For one, he was trying ice a clutch kicker rushing out there for a 59 yarder in bad weather.

Instead they got to take their time and set up the kick operation.

For two, if he makes it.. 20 seconds and two timeouts gives us a shot.

Just wild how he keeps making a dumpster fire of situations late game.

I think maybe McDermott should be investigated for betting on games..I swear his decisions look like that of a coach who is throwing games from slowing the offense down,to the worst calls defensively at the worst times to starting aged vets over more promising younger players lol

I would flip it. Jauron was a poor man's McDermott. I think young people are misremembering what Jauron was actually like.

Yes, I think still a little worse. He may have actually ruined Allen. We don't know.

Hard to say jauron was a poor man's McDermott when he didn't even have a homeless man's Josh allen lol

    11 minutes ago, TheFunPolice said:

There's no way to know, but what would Jauron's record be with this roster?

He went 7-9 practically every year with zero QB and a pretty pitiful roster.

My guess? He would do a little worse than McDermott, maybe 10-11 wins each year but not much different.

If that sounds crazy just imagine Josh Allen over Losman or trent equals 3 wins a season.

McDermott isn't gonna get to 10 wins this season....hard not to make ten wins with a Qb like josh allen

    That's dumb

Why is it dumb? He has failed to find a bona-fide #2 wr...his draft picks have been skewed to underachieving defense picks and he has old vets all over this roster and the cap is tight and no money to replace all the holes that are popping up now morse,hyde,poyer,von,tre,....just the von money would have bought allen his own higgins/waddle caliber wr opposite Diggs..bean has been lockstep with mcclappy and totally built this team opposite of how the modern nfl works..it's an offense driven league and bean has focused too much on the defense for his buddy McDermott

Not at all.  I sincerely don’t think a McD scapegoat firing is the right move for a team that has been a consistent contender.

Especially after he took the leap of firing his friend and Josh’s hand selected boy in Dorsey and clearly got that one right.  He should be praised for that move and there hasn’t been a peep of that.

    Whatever dude holy smokes

Allen wasn’t perfect. He played very well.

We lose the coin flip in OT, it’s because Allen didn’t get to touch the ball. We win the coin flip in OT, we still lose when we get all the way down to the red zone and our #2 WR gets wide open and can’t catch the ball.

the game was there to be won. Multiple times. Defense was a sieve. Offense left points on the board, specifically in OT where a TD ends the game. Allen throws a pick leading to 6. Missed FG’s.

I didn’t see a super talented team out there tonight. I saw Allen needing to be Superman to hang with one of the ACTUAL Super Bowl contenders this season, and it still being a loss.

    Talent issue.

    Coaching issue and official issue

I've watched these past 4 years, the window isn't closing, it's closed.

Allen isn't the answer. Good QB, but he can't win the clutch games. Oh I know fans will throw a multitude of excuses....coaching, personnel, and each have merit on their own right.

Beans and McD need to go, so does Allen. Let Diggs go to. Get what you can in trade value. That should be solid building blocks if the right management team and coaching staff are assembled.

Many will hate this opinion, but if your not accepting the reality of the current situation, then your living your Bills Fandom in la la land.

The current organizational make up, from management and coaching to roster personnel is not taking this team anywhere.

I know, hate it, hate me and a growing number that share this opinion, but it won't change the reality on the ground. This team is going nowhere, and the past 4+ years outcomes project this.

The time for denial is over. It's time to move on to acceptance.

We should fire fans who think like this with McDermott lol...allen is the best qb this franchise has ever had and a top 2 qb in football lol....too bad we have bad coaching as his career is being wasted
