First off... If I were to bet, I would bet saying no he doesn't get fired because it was his 1st year

BUT... I think it is at least a discussion worth having, and that he will be on thin ice next season.

Some stats that are pretty alarming:

    29th on 3rd downs

Let up the 4th most first downs in the league.

23rd in passing yards allowed and 8th most passing TDS allowed. (Insane compared to years in the past)

And in the biggest game of the year against KC with two starters out in the secondary, I believe Joe Marino stated they played man around 44 percent of the time...

I am trying not to make this a Sean Mcdermott discussion, as we get it as it is his scheme.

But inarguably, the Bills defence outside of turnovers? Was pretty much a disaster this season and Bobby B didn't have many answers.

What do you think about Babich going forward?

I think Babich just like Leslie Frazier are scapegoats for the long figured out scheme of Sean McDermott's defense

We lost to the two time defending SB champ by 3 points at their place in the AFCCG. We were very close. Let’s not act like we are total garbage.

In our playoff losses our defensive expert HC defense has surrended 34 PPG lmao 😂 😂 😂

What two are you directly blaming him for? Yesterday when Kincaid dropped a pass thrown behind him, last year when Bass blew a FG? I'll give ya 13 seconds

How about a supposed defense expert watching his junk outdated scheme get no stops in the playoffs against elite teams

Since 2000, teams with 4+ TDs and 0 Turnovers in a playoff game are 59-3

    The three losses

Bills vs. Chiefs in the 2024 AFC Championship
Bills vs. Chiefs in the 2021 Divisional Round
Chiefs vs. Patriots in the 2018 AFC Championship

Josh Allen has 25 tds and 4 turnovers in 13 playoff games.

Bills defense have now surrendered 38, 42, 27, and 32 points in all four of their losses to the Chiefs. What makes this STAT most alarming is each one of those scores was the most points the Chiefs scored that year in the playoffs.

Bills have a defense issue and it is painfully obvious they will never win until this is addressed. Allen basically has to come out slinging immediately because his defense does not give him time to breathe. I've watched Mahomes, Brady, Burrow, Manning all struggle early in games only to win because their defense made multiple stops in the first half. Bills defense have serious problems against elite competition and this is year 5 of this mess.

It's McDermott who is to blame...it's his scheme he refuses to drop and adapt a new approach

  5.  JOSH ALLEN deserves better than what he has been given..now if that's on the coach (I believe it is) or bean or even his supporting teammates in big moments of big games (playoffs mainly) something needs changed to get us over the hump...... insanity is to be content to keep running it back yr after yr after yr when we have seen our ceiling under current leadership

All 3 playoff games we gave up easy TDs on the first drive. That’s us having zero plan going into the game and just getting exposed.

Also we should have came out on that opening series and been aggressive...we were flat..allot of this game once again falls on COACHING

    The match-ups.

We don't need to go to the topic of Bills D against Ravens O, do we? Bills D is built to stop the pass and the Ravens O is built around running the ball. So it is kind of like fighting left-handed there.

Looking into Bills O against Ravens D. Ravens play 3-4 defense, all 3 linemen are big (over 300 lb). With Roquan Smith and Van Noy having a late career year at 33 year old, it's hard to run the ball --- Ravens is #1 against run in NFL. I think Connor McGovern against their NT Travis Jones is critical if we want to run the ball, or give Josh some room to step up in passing situations. Jones has 20lb over McGovern but believe me, the Bills are in better shape with McGovern against Jones than Morse. On the flip side, we are not likely to pull McGovern like we do with Morse to attack the edge on run plays. We need to run the ball effectively, like 3+ yards per attempt, can't allow the Ravens to tee-up on Josh with Oweh (10 sacks) and Van Noy (12 sacks). We will see Marlon Humphrey's status but he's perennial all pro. Hamilton to me is one of the best secondary player, not just on their team, but the entire league. I think Josh needs to pay close attention to him every snap.

It is a tall order - you know the Bills offense needs to find a way to move the ball and score, preferably in time consuming fashion. I know we ran the ball on Broncos which have a good D-line. But the Ravens are another level up. I see the Bills go pass heavy but I think it could lead to a disaster. The last thing we want is that our offense go 3 and out in less than 2 minutes and the Ravens run the ball to consume 7 minutes, even just to kick a field goal. Allen probably has to put superman cape on and just run the ball himself extensively, which means he could be beaten up pretty good this game and ... guess what, Mahomes is waiting at home with one extra days rest the following week.

I really want Cook to have his best game of his career. Is that in him?

And the ravens defense is susceptible to the pass and built to stop the run better and play with a lead...jump out infront of them and get them out of the constant ground and pound

Can Josh sack a Quarterback with one hand than smash his head to the turf?

    No.....

Can Bruce Smith evade the fastest, strongest players in the league(today's players are bigger, stronger, faster) and throw a 70 yard missile on a rope while on the run? No ........

I wish Beane and McDermott would change their philosophy when it comes to defense. We need a bigger, more physical defense that is built to stop the run and get after the QB. Think Steelers defense. This smaller, finesse type of defense we have doesn't work against the better teams.

It's MCDERMOTT entire defensive approach that has assembled this defense! bean is just the shopper.. McDermott writes the list! McDermott soft nickle is this teams Achilles heel esp come playoffs when every team is good to elite!
