    Honestly this is just idiocy

Dink and dunk against the Cover 2 shell is what sets up the big shots you want to see, and it worked all night

Dink and dunk kills clock and you better make sure your long time consuming drives end in touchdowns...there is such a small room for error in that offense

No Brady.  Bring in somone who csn run the WCO. The rest I can live with

The west coast offense is made for pocket passer methodical robot qbs.....allen isn't a wco offense qb..might as well trade him if that's the box we force him into...it's not fair to allen to be handcuffed to an offensive system that basically neuters what makes allen truly elite

Well, IF the report of a mystery team being interested in Belichick but not having an opening is true maybe Pegula would do that.

To be clear, I would rather have Harbaugh but we're stuck right now. With Allen McDermott will always win enough games that "you can't fire the coach!"

You hit the nail on the head!..we have a qb that is every bit as good as brady, mahomes, montana, elway, manning yet he isn't put into those conversations bc we have the wrong coaches to get him there!..but his elite abilities will overcome allot of the coaching downfalls and make it appear we are on the cusp of greatness and the coaches just need 1 more player...1 more year...no injuries etc etc....by the time you realize the horrible mistake we have made allen is past his prime and his superbowl chances go up in smoke how marinos did smh

Agree with the strategy, but if McD didn't think his defense could stop KC why would he then think a low scoring game would win it.  Last week against Steelers, that wasn't a bad strategy, but against KC??  Yes grind it out is great as long as they can keep scoring every drive.  But in 2nd half didn't do much on offense other than one drive.  So the banged up D couldn't get a stop, and the healthy offense couldn't score!

The grind it out offense with Josh allen at qb is insanity....it forces the offense to be perfect and lots of time gets burnt off the clock just to come up empty...I'd rather an offense philosophy that entails having as many possible possessions for your rocket armed superstar qb

    Great post!!

I’ve been interacting with a lot of fish fans on Twitter lately (mostly talking 🗑️). That fan base is very much divided when it comes to Tua. It dawned on me today that our situation is almost the EXACT same but with our HC. While it’s true Tua is their best QB since Marino and McDermott is better than Jauron, are they good enough to win a title in this AFC? Each presents you with a relatively high floor but neither has approached the ceiling. I’m on team “move on from McDermott” because the clock struck midnight for my patience. He’s proven that he can consistently get to the divisional round. I’m sure, LOTS of people could do that with Josh Allen in his prime. Time to move on from Doug Collins and find our Phil Jackson.

Meanwhile bill belichick is out there for the taking....Bill would win multiple superbowls with Josh allen

I blame the Dorsey offense. Brady did a much better job at in game decisions but he was limited to the Dorsey offense. I noticed the exact same thing as you in the last 2 weeks watching the other playoff teams. Even the worst teams got receivers open. Even the worst teams ran deception plays or screens that got great yardage. Those teams were able to make things consistently better and easier for their often inferior QBs (like Rudolph etc) to make plays. But Brady was stuck with Dorsey's Pop Warner playbook. Its an absolute travesty that he came in here and made our offense worse.

Don't you think this offense we now run is per the vision of our HC? Why do you think dabol and McDermott had a rift? Dabol laughed in mcd face when he would dial up 3 play 50 s drives for a TD.....our offense, defense, plays and everything from the top on down is MCDERMOTT’S process...do you trust it? The baby has been born and its an ugly mother#$#$@!

Aaron Rodgers, while he was a Packer, never threw to a 1st round WR. It was a big thing.

Since Allen has been drafted the highest a WR has been picked is the 4th round (Gave Davis). One in the 5th (Shakir). You have arguably the most talented QB in the league and you have given him nothing. Ironically enough the one Offensive Position that the Bills draft a lot (RB) is the one that takes the ball outta your QB's hands the most.

And none of that is going to change until we get coaching who will change our defense first priority and understand in today's nfl the offenses get you that ring....unless you have a top 10 defense of all time the offense powerhouses are gonna win more times than not against the top defense teams...the game has changed and now gives the advantage to offense

The Cover 2 shell came back into vogue because the current top QBs won't punish you for it.  The methodical ball control offense WORKS.  It wrecks the Cover 2 shell.  Slowly, but surely.  It worked all game.  We screwed ourselves on the final drive by gunning for the endzone instead.  If we had kept with that offense, we likely win the game.  Putting up 31 on that Chiefs D would have been an amazing feat, and that ball control offense would have done it.  We watched the Patriots pull it off year after year in that exact fashion, much to our despair.

Might as well trade allen if that's the box our coaches put him in...go get tua and run the two step drop and out offense

By your standards, every coach that did not advance their team to the conference championship should be fired.

This loss sucks.  I am as sick of losing to that punk Mahomes in the playoffs just like all of the Bills Mafia.  I just believe that McDermott is one of the best head coaches in our team's history.

It is absurd to call for the head coach to be fired after every loss.

What makes you think we will find a better coach if we do replace McDermott?

McDermott has us in the playoffs consistently.  The Bills are in the national spotlight.  And they are considered one of the top teams in the NFL each year.

You ignore all the successes McDermott has had with his time in Buffalo.

The Bills are not firing McDermott after this season.  With all the defensive injuries he has had to deal with, and beating several playoff teams during their 6 game winning streak.   This may be his best coaching season.

Also, name me a team that consistently beats the Chiefs in the playoffs?  There isn't one.  So why hold McDermott to an unrealistic standard?

Please accept that McDermott is not going anywhere.  He is not the problem.

It's josh allen who has us on the cusp despite having a mid coach

    You didn't answer the question.

Did Brady not have a killer instinct because he killed you 6-7 yards at a time?

Brady had a hc who understood what system was the best for his skill set....no brady wouldn't have won running a read option offense and allen didn't win running a dink and dunk ball control conservative offense

  10. 2 minutes ago, Chugga said:

Exactly it doesn’t let your QB have a killer instinct.  It applies ALL of the pressure onto Allen.  Instead of trying a 9 minute drive to end the game the Bills should have been playing for the lead and if you’ve got a defensive coach you get that lead then get a defensive stop then you let your all world QB place the dagger.  But the whole game ended up condensing itself down to a single drive where any misstep basically ended up in us losing the game.

It's how every post season loss plays out with McDermott.....it's insanity

    Just now, Avisan said:

This is nonsense.  Did Brady not have a killer instinct because he killed you 6-7 yards at a time?

What's nonsense is taking allen and putting him into an offense philosophy catered to a brady, tua, burrow qb ...that's like having a brady, burrow or tua offense and making those players play in a read option rpo offense.....McDermott isn't the right coach for our qb....our offense has been slowed down per our hc wishes

    This is the problem though.

Allen was pretty much perfect all game.

He made one mistake going for the jugular, bad decision and he couldn’t get the throw there.

One mistake from him in an otherwise flawless game and we can’t overcome it.

Coaches can’t help him out.. players don’t pick him up..

Yet Mahomes misses guys open in the end zone twice on the same drive and they fumble the ball out of the end zone …. And win.

It's the methodical ball control mcd offense...it's forces allen and the offense to be absolutely perfect or they end up wasting allot of time and come up empty...this offense approach effectively limits the possessions of its best player to keep the defense closers fresh to never close out a game

I was sitting in my man cave with my buddy totally engrossed in the game when we had the weird series of events that started with the FAKE PUNT.

When KC stopped us and then drove the ball down for what appeared to be a rushing touchdown, and then upon further review it was fumbled out of the end zone, we looked at each other and both said " The football gods are willing us to victory!".

I swear, for the first time in a very long time it seemed the breaks were finally going our way in a game!

And then, the missed "wide right #2" field goal......

I just wonder was the pit fed this week or nah?

I agree.  Our receivers outside of Shakir are brutal.  Sad about Diggs.  What has happened to the man?  But still his offensive play calling is oh so predictable.

Yea brady while a good story can be upgraded. His style of offense seems more geared for a burrow, baker, tua pocket statues....

  14. 25 minutes ago, Paup 1995MVP said:

Why has Diggs become our underneath guy anyways?  He used to blow by people or run 15-20 yard crossing patterns.  Now he is running mostly 5-7 yard turn ins and comebacks to the QB.  If Diggs is still an NFL receiver, (which is debatable) he has to be doing more then that.  Our route scheme w Joe Brady has been terrible.  Rarely is anyone even remotely open, let alone wide open.  And we go two thirds of the game without throwing to Kincaid.  And while I don't love Knox, we threw to him one time tonite.  That's ridiculous.

It's the type of offense our coach wants,it's obvious now what the problem was between dabol and mcd. McDermott wanted a "complimentary" offense that can string together long clock chewing drives...dabol just wanted every drive to lead to tds whether it 10 play 6 minutes drives or 2 play 30 second drives

  15. 11 minutes ago, Man with No Name said:

the 2nd and 9 play to shakir was the right call. he was open. the first down run was not the correct call.

We sure could have used a 75% to 25% pass to run play selection in the 2nd half..kc cane out of the half with an obvious emphasis to stop the run and there was tons of intermediate opportunities for the taking and we never challenged those chances

Yes McDermott made Bass 25% in the playoffs.   Think about that 25% has a kicker ever had a worse playoffs?

    And still it's McDermott...God people.

He sure trusted that 25% chance kicker with the season and that's also very telling in another way....kc would have had 2 timeouts and 1:40 something on the clock....we would have lost when kc kicked a fg with 13s left ....the failure to learn from your mistakes seems to not apply for McDermott..that last drive was it!...it was the drive to eat every bit of clock and above all else score to win the game and never give the ball back to kc

Offense had their chance and blew it. We knew coming into this they had to win it.

McDermott wanted an offense to play perfect ball for 14 play drives and chew clock to limit his decimated defense exposure.......OK but to try to do so by running into a chiefs defense who obviously themed their halftime speech and adjustments on STOPPING the run was mind-boggling..even the passing played right into their strength by dialing up allot of short near the los quick passes......we never really challenged the intermediate...all runs, short passes or try to hit them on the homerun....mind boggling

Dude the defense was decimated. I can't blame that. The Chiefs attacked their weaknesses.

After half with the lead and chiefs went right down and scored to open the 2nd half I feel our offense identity should have changed......we should have been shootout mentality and instead we continued to try to force "Complimentary " balanced football and kept running into 10 man fronts

na, he's overrated.  He is awful outside of Brady.

Would rather have Harbaugh (sign stealing is legal in the NFL!).

Would also rather have Lions, Ravens, or Houston OC.

He is awful without a franchise qb..as are most every other coach
