So did anyone see the start of last night's Rangers-Devils game. They dropped the puck, and a 5 on 5 fight broke out.

I’m assuming that something happened in pre-game or the previous game that carried over to the puck-drop? Coordinated thing when everyone starts fighting *right away.*

I know some will hate it because "change bad" but I'm interested to see how this plays out. I like the idea of keeping returns relevant. Of course this would hit at a time where Buffalo doesn't have a clear "return specialist" rostered ..but let's see what the draft brings.

I also wonder how it will affect McDermott’s penchant to keep 3-4 guys solely for special teams tackling. iirc Matakavitch and Neal were released. Maybe he had word this was gonna happen since he’s now on the competition committee?

  3. Sooo the focus of this thread really shifted from the original dirt, concrete, and steel that’s in the thread title to PSLs and ticket prices.

Might it be best to create a separate thread for these and other Bills PSL & ticket & the stadium experience store concerns? Bc I keep clicking on this to see any construction updates only to find another page full of the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth about how it’s going to be too expensive for average Buffalo fans and everything is going to change.

I just wanna see life size Tonka-type and cement trucks, cranes, and steel here. Please.

  4. So does Jeep have to make all of their parts able to be put into a Ford?

It’s fairly asinine that they have to be subject to sharing / interfacing their proprietary technology with competing companies. Should EasyBake ovens have to be pair-able with the kitchen playsets that every little girl gets?

Does BMW get sued for jumping up and down in their commercials how much better they think their drivers are than others? When in reality BMW drivers likewise shame less expensive car owners, yet they are the ones who are known pricks who speed and weave through traffic?

As Augie writes above it’s just a phone. It’s like… “this is what our product does. It is not all things to all people. Research what you want and then decide to buy… or not.”

While they’re at it, go after those awful lightning adapters 🤮

After much kvetching by the EU courts, they have changed to USB-C charging ports starting with the 15 series on phones.

  5. We’ll see what McGovern is made of at C, but for me the Jerry Ostroski experiment is still pretty fresh in mind. He was moved into the spot and would just get absolutely bull-rushed into the backfield. He looked the part, sure, but it was just terrible results.

Better draft a guy who has *actual* starting experience at the spot more recently than / & beyond the level of high school.

  6. Shortening standard time to ~4 months under GWB was a half measure.

Make DST permanent! Afternoon sun in the winter rather than at 6am. Keeping standard time and/or continuing to change the clocks increases energy use / consumption.

  7. The boys have been playing pretty well since I ordered my primegreen (royal / home) jersey from the team site. It arrived yesterday and looks so sweet. I will say the last time I got an authentic Bills jersey via bills store, they broke the curse and made the playoffs the next season.

Happy to have a quality jersey from adidas before the league changes to Fanatics next year; we’re seeing how the Fanatics changes and cheap production value is going with MLB jerseys.

With this, I think I’m all set for my jersey closet, most of them with my favorite number 15 and my last name on the back.

Super win today, boys! Resilience! Probably too little too late, but….

  8. I ordered an authentic adidas Primegreen jersey tonight on the team page with my own last name on back (because I can’t be traded or leave in FA) and #15 in the regular royal blue set that is truly beautiful & traditional after our jersey designs were so bad for so long. Can say that I was a bit tempted on a Tage Thompson since he’s a fellow UConn alum, but I had to stay with my protocol.

Been considering it for awhile to add to my favorite team jersey collection and have heard that the Fanatics branded jerseys the league is switching to (and what will be available to fans) next season are terrible quality. So it was getting to crunch time to just get it done.

I was watching on ESPN+ and ordered in the 3rd period after we went down 2-1. Little while later the evener and then the OT win.

And now all the other streaming services like Netflix and Prime are introducing commercials. They're trying to make streaming essentially cable, without all the copper infrastructure. They also want you to have your own ISP to access their service you pay for :P

Right at a time when my sports fandom has severely waned. If not for JA17 and my deep love of the Bills and all the Sunday rituals,  I may not be watching sports at all anymore. I find soo many of the athletes dislikeable and the messaging coming out of these products disagreeable... I digress.

Yep. Most of all for me it’s that every other commercial now during games is like “Gamble your hard-earned money away on sports outcomes!” 😠

  10. Black for black’s sake (BFBS) is THE worst trend in uni styles.

Bills really ought to get rid of the black outlines on the unis. As the uniwatch page put it, the Bills since 2011 are a blue and white team with red accents.

The black (or… dark navy some people say, but I own a pair of game used pants/shorts and it certainly looks black to me and it’s a distinction without a difference) is a copied element from the Cowboys’ hack job that is their white uni set that has black outlines on the sleeve stripes but not ANYWHERE else, to go along with the three different shades of blue they use (the uni pants just recently were switched to the steely blue from the infamous seafoam green). It’s maddening to uni fans. Or for anyone who “roots for the laundry” as Seinfeld said about the age of free agency and such.

It *might* make sense from a chromostereopsis standpoint of red adjoining blue creating a blurry affect, which ostensibly is the case on the blue jerseys… but on the road set we have black outlines between the red on the numbers & sleeves and the white jersey. And it’s between the blue and the white on the helmets. Such inconsistency. In the era of HDTV this is not needed. Even in the Kelly era with SD, this was not needed. It was just red, white, and blue. Simple as that. And the freaking collars that have changed 6-7 times with the different Nike templates (the toilet bowl ring, then it did meet at the V, then it didn’t, then it did, then it met but was just a grayed fabric, and now there’s an elongated V with the Fusion template)… please lose them!; just make the collars the same color as the jersey already.

TPegs was part of the Sabres redesign that simplified those jerseys, kicking out the grey pinstriping and changing the dark blue back to the classic royal. Why we can’t do similar for the Bills and make a B+ uni set an A+ is beyond me. Maybe we can hope for it with the new stadium?

    Answer: poor drafting

The illness isn’t the one year contracts; that’s the symptom. The root cause is swinging and missing at Epenesa and Rousseau. If those two guys were performing at anywhere their top draft potential we’d have a solid three stalwarts when coupled with Oliver, not the rotational grab bag we see now.

For me, I was pretty happy to lose Eric Washington to Chicago. A DL coach who has had THIS much draft capital thrown his way and to not teach and develop it worth a damn until Ed Oliver had a fire lit under his butt this season (which I put more on a self-starting thing) is downright criminal. They had to bring in Von because nobody was improving.
