Seems like a generous deal given his injury history.  Hope he does well.  I'll always be a fan of his.

Well put. May I add "devastating" injury history. This wasn't like a pulled hammy or a broken wrist.

A torn ACL and ruptured Achilles in back to back seasons was a 💩 hand he got dealt and possibly the kiss of death for a CB.

Trying to back pedal, shift laterally, jump and tackle some of the top receivers after the injuries mentioned I imagine would be quite challenging.

Also, we all saw how long it took him to come back from the ACL, and when he finally got on the field he appeared to be very tentative and slow to react. Beat quite often and often forced to hold receivers.

Now he's coming off an Achilles! Damn, if feel for you Tre😥

Question? Any CBs come to mind that have suffered similar injuries and came back at a high level?  Seriously,  I don't recall any.

Generous contract indeed, but if he comes back healthy it'll look like an awesome deal. Tre is a Top 5 CB when he's 💯 %.

    Good luck Tre 👍

Would you guys be happy with this mock?

He has us trading up from #28 to #20 with Pittsburgh.  To move up it cost our first this year, 2nd this year and first next year.

He has us selecting WR Xavier Worthy with the 20th selection.

And Pittsburgh signs Brian Thomas Jr with the 28th pick...

    Hate it.

Who knows what will happen future wise but to me Worthy is John Ross 2.0

Trading up and bypassing Thomas Jr. to me would be upsetting.

If Beane moves up to take a DT, a whole lot of folks are going to be rightly irate.

One can argue DT is more of a need than WR as of now.

But KC went through Baltimore and SF which are 2 of the top defenses in the league.

Point being is we're not gonna beat KC with defense. We have to outscore them and the only way that happens is by giving JA17 all the weapons he needs while he's in his prime.

  4. I want one of top receiver prospects, but if I'm choosing between Franklin and Sweat I'm picking Sweat in what to me is a no brainer.

I think Denver might jump them for McCarthy so they trade up with Atlanta to get their guy.

Just a gut feeling, not what I would do. My guy is Xavier Legette if we don't trade up for Nabers or Odunze. Been on that train since the first WR mentions we had back before the Palyoffs. I appreciate your explanation though.

Agree. I think that kids gonna be a real player.

Man, $19M seems steep for what we’re getting from Rousseau.  I know we have a bunch of needs entering the draft, seems like EDGE is right up there with WR and DT.  More reason to land a stopgap FS in FA, so we can focus on these positions in the first 4 rounds of the draft.

    This^^^^

I said this in the other thread, his lack of special teams ability kills him, and he isn’t good enough to be a full time X or slot. I’d love to see him come in and compete with Justin Shorter.

Imagine being 6’4’ 220 and a gifted athlete while constantly being overshadowed by a guy who’s 5’8’’ 170.

Wanted the Bills to sign him a few years back when the Bears picked him up.  He can spot start and is a good special teams player.   Are we really taking the opinions of Eagles' fans now?

    Good one 👍

He’s capable, just got to show it. Do we see us bringing any other guys on the edge outside the draft?

Beane will do his usual and wait until the smoke clears and then find some diamonds in the rough.

Great news but honestly, the kid’s going have to step up big time and be a large contributor consistently on the season…

Heres hoping! Congrats to him and us!

Here did his best work with a healthy Von on the field.

Cam Lewis provides much more value than a day 3 draft pick or late stage FA.

He is potentially our starting safety but also backs up all secondary spots.  2 million a year is worth that IMO.

Agree as far as depth is concerned but if he's our starting safety opening day I'm gonna lose it.

They tried to bluff and Kirk called it.

Their coach made several comments about letting Kirk see the market. How he "earned" it, etc.

Welp, he saw the market alright.

    You can't bluff Kirk Cousins.

Washington played that game with the franchise tag 2X and instead of crying about it he bet on himself.  He performed at a high level and stayed healthy and cashed in. Kudos 👏
