  1. So I bought a jar of raspberry preserves the other day. I just opened it and the top of the lid said to reject it if the little button on the top was up.

    Well it was already popped.

So I had a moment trying to remember if I had opened it before or not. Not a drop had been used so I don't think I did. Then I had to decide if I was going to eat it or not. I ended up using it. Am I going to die?

  2. They are looking for their key group to all play under 4-5 year contracts starting next year. That's my point. It's gonna be the 2018/2019 Draft that the 4-5 years falls in. Those 2 drafts should hopefully produce 10-12 quality starters who have all been in the same system for 3-4 years straight and come at a cheap price, then add in the early draft picks coming in from the 2020/21 draft. Brady will be gone, the AFCE will be the Bills conference for half a decade at that point...., then comes the new stadium.

That being said, I do think that's the direction and I love it. Not really expecting much this year at all and it doesn't bother me.

10-12 starters in 2 drafts? Seems a little hopeful to me. On top of that, because of the current roster, the whole thing will have to be torn apart in 3 years anyway. The moves don't confuse me as much as the age of people they are keeping and bringing in.

  3. I have yet to try the caramel filled M&M's, but I love the peanut butter M&M's.

Was not impressed with the caramel M&M's... was like chewing on road tar with almost the same flavor.

Have not tried several candy bars mentioned in this thread. I will have to try them and see if the butterfinger remains at the top of the list.

  4. I went and scoped some highlights and have come to the conclusion that I was COMPLETELY wrong to doubt this QB class. WOW!

I'm so glad we're not hamstrung by a Watson, Mahomes, Trubisky, etc.

I hope McDermott is as smart as we all hope he is.

I suppose getting an extra first round pick for next year is a good sign.

  5. Pegs didn't do himself or the Bills any favors in that presser. Now we know why Whaley was sent out on his own, 'cause Pegs ain't much better. The CEO of a billion-dollar company should be a much better public speaker.

Why should he be a better public speaker? I have never understood this grading of freakin press conferences.

  6. I've never seen the guy take a snap. All I know is what I've read, including what I've read here.

If all of that is true then I love the pick.

Sounds like he already does what teams wait years to find out whether their highly drafted QB studs can learn to do - and usually they are disappointed. Frankly I'm tired of watching athletes trying to play the position - and basically failing. The most valuable QB attributes by far reside above the shoulders, not below, and are all functions of the rare ability to process a lot of information quickly and react accordingly. Sounds like we know Peterman can do that and can do it now. Thats already most of the battle won IMO.

If his arm strength needs improving maybe he can work on it. But you don't need great arm strength to be a great QB. Joe didn't have a cannon, but Kyle Boller did. I hear lots of references to Chad Pennington (before his surgery). If Peterman's arm is in that ballpark, it should be good enuf.

I used to hate it when we played Pennington. He never made a throw that amazed you and you needed to watch again and again.. but he was the guy you just couldn't seem to get off the field. Just relentless completion after completion it seemed like.

  7. By implication, you adhere to the belief that all players are pretty much equal, therefore the more picks you have, the more good players you'll gain. Apparently the Bills - & 31 other teams - believe that some players are better than others, and so one really good player is better than two so-so players. If we go with your theory, then the smart thing would be to trade all the higher picks for about 30 in the 7th round. That about right?

What's this "we" crap? I for one "know" Whaley is an excellent GM. But then, I evaluate him based on facts not emotions and biases.

If you drink beer I would like to buy you one.

  8. Offensive linemen is the one position that picking in later rounds has very little bearing on success. There are hundreds of examples of very good to excellent OL picked in later rounds.

The value of second rounders to third and beyond is very high, especially in this type of draft. To me,you increase the odds of getting a high quality player in round two comparably. Volume does not necessarily mean your chances of these guys sticking increases.

One example is New England. He drafts for volume and it doesn't work. BB not a very good drafter,so what makes anyone think the Bills will do much better?

Don't have to go very far for a recent example. We have a 3rd rounder playing guard on our team right now that not many complain about. And he played in his rookie year to boot.
