Yeah he can play.
He went to college for lacrosse but played football his last year or two.
5 minutes ago, Bangarang said:But can he actually play football? That seems more important to me than just being able to quickly run in a straight line or around cones.
The 3 cone is more more like game speed than the 40. Both of TKs 3 cone times would have led the combine for WRs.

40: 4.48/4.53

Only one NFL team went to his pro day, the freaking Pats

I'd think he had a solid career, but how many times was Heath Miller the best pass catcher on his team, or even in the top 3 pass catchers on his own team?
I guess where I'm going is that TE just isn't a premium position to the point where I want to spend a first round pick on it, let alone a top 10 pick.
Hockenson’s best trait is his blocking ability just like Heath Miller or Gronkowski. These guys scare a Defense because they can’t get a good read on what the offense is going to do on a 3rd and 4.
Heath Miller may not have been the best receiving treat on the offense but by him being on the field allowed this to open up for Mike Wallace, Santonio Holmes, Antonio Brown, and lets not forget the running game.
I feel Hokensen can do similar things for our offense

Best argument I have is this: when was the last time that a top-10 TE went on to have a great career?
Matter of fact, when was the last time that a 1st-round TE went on to have a great career?
Moreover, who are the best TEs in football in the last half-decade? How many of them were 1st-round picks, let alone top-10 picks?
Heath Miller.
I think if Hockenson has a career like Heath Millers we’d all be very happy.
What makes Hockenson different from most of the athletic freak TEs that go in the 1st is his ability to block. I think hed add such a nice element to our offense, a real chess piece that we can use to put opposing defenses in tough spots

AB wants out of Pittsburgh because he doesn’t feel appreciated enough.
The one team that appriciates him the most (with $$$ and trade compensation), Buffalo he (AB) doesn’t appreciate at all.
Its like me trying to get a date in high school all over again.

Marcell Dareus was a semi-proven top-end talent (when he bothered to try) and he was traded for a 5th round pick. Ross is younger and on a much cheaper contract, but has zero success so far. Maybe he is worth a 5th as well, but I wouldn't trade more than that for him.
Dareus wasn’t traded for a 5th because he’s a 5th round talent however When you look at his contract vs his production that’s how you come up with the 5th round value. Ross is in a different spot, His contract is still pretty reasonable, but he hasn’t shown anything in the league yet. I think the pick we got for McCarron is the move. He could push McCloud and McKenzie for our burner spot, if any of the 3 work out as a long term WR it’s a win for Buffalo.

That’s all fun but Washington doesn’t have to draft capital to make this move with us.

I was dissapointed that he didn't play better or hit doubl digit sacks, but historically, many guys ned more than 1 year to recover both physically and psychologically from such a serious injury. Besides, he wasn't that bad -- just average, really. He's still relatively young too.
I think his best game was Minnesota. I rewatched that game last night and was surprised how much of an impact T Murphy made. If we can get him playing like that every game we’ll be solid

@Ice bowl 67 You’re great man, my only question is do you spend as much time on Packer Boards as well?

I’m starting to think Josh Allen was instructed to not check check the past year. I think it was important for Allen/Dabol/McDermott to know what he can/can’t do. No one expected us to be decent this year, I think our agenda in 2018 was getting Josh Allen comfortable down the field.
Next year I think we see a monster improvement in accuracy and efficiency because we’ll have game plans designed to win with the talent to go along with it

What does it mean that we (Buffalo bills) have interest in birmingham Iron?

Bumping this thread because Taylor is now the trendy pick for us. I said this before it was ?

The holding call on the Rams center early in the fourth after Gurleys 13 yard run was no doubt the turning point in the game. Instead of first and 10 on the *patriots 43 after just tying the game and with all of the momentum the Rams faced a 1 and 20 in their own territory. They went on to punt and the *pats scored the game winning touchdown. I have watched that replay 10 times and there is no way that should have ever been called a hold. It’s these “inconspicuous” type of blatant calls in the NFL that have the ratings for the Superbowl at a 10 year low.
The point being people like me are realizing there are just to many variables to be able to win a game in the NFL, with the refs being number 1. You really have to hope that your team is “allowed” to win. The Rams never really had a chance and it was made clear after that atrocious call. The *pats were penalized TWO TIMES up until the *pats last drive when the game was already over. How do they play such perfect football?
But it isn’t really all about the refs. There are as many uncotrolled variables as a poker tournement with 3,000 people. No matter how good you are at the end you need the right run of cards and about a million other tiny things to go your way. That is the odds of your team winning the Big Game if your not the *pats. No matter how good you are in the NFL the refs, injuries, freak plays, and many other factors make the NFL a game of luck which is sad to me. People are realizing it’s all about luck unless your the *pats and winning the Superbowl is just like hitting a # on the roulette wheel, there is really no ryme or reason when it comes down to it and 31 teams are just hoping they get lucky and the cards fall their way, just a big gamble really. A game of chance, it’s just the hard truth for fans like us who wish there was justice in something we invested so much time and emotion in.
On a side note edelman winning mvp is a great message for the kids that if you cheat it pays off. And bravo hiring an arrest riddled rapper to be part of the halftime show. Stay classy Goodell and the NFL
Well said. Football is a game of momentum and almost every game it seems the Pats get certain calls that help their momentum or hurt the team they are playing against.
i will say that earlier on the same drive you mentioned the Pats got called for defenssive holding on 3rd and long to extend the drive but then they needed to kill the momentum by throwing a phantom holding call after a big run.

I agree with you, but I also see good plays.
However tonight was the classic Patriots, the classic Billicheat, the classic Brady, the classic Refs...however, not the classic ***** Fans......IT was not a neutral site and every player admitted that and the ESPN reporters from Brazil that were at the game said the same exact thing. IT WAS A PATS HOME GAME ATMOSPHERE.
What really made me think it was true was the HORN on third down when the Rams were on Offense. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?
In conclusion: Congratulations to the Pats, however, its always something: tonight was phantom Penalty on Robey-Coleman
and then the no call against Cooks for an easy touchdown.
And the phantom hold in the 4th quarter when’s gurley ran it 15 yards inside the Pats 40. Huge momentum swing right there

To be honest:
He is a great defender, however he makes bad decisions and YES: it seems with the Bills he got called for Penalties and tonight in the SUPERBOWL he got burnt a few times and then on a crucial play to Cooks, he lost him and arm barred him and never got called. By the same token, Cooks got up and went back to the huddle without selling the hold or complaining.
Rams had many opportunities to play no huddle, cuz the Pats defence chaos,,but instead, they huddled everytime and gave the Pats upper hand.......Amazing how a fat bastard like me can see what is going on but Goff and McVay cannot.
I’m not only talking about tonight, all season watching the Pats it seems like the announcers are showing replays of Gilmore’s brilliant coverage but all I see is the same exact physical coverage that he used to get flagged for left and right while he was here.

The real story of this game was Sean McVay’s brilliance
-
But is it just me or does it seem like he gets called a whole lot less for Holding and Pass Interference penalties.
In Buffalo he gets flags in New England announcers drool over his “coverage skills”

I’m pretty sure Mahomes wouldn’t have won the MVP in Buffalo this year.
Give it time, I think Josh Allen is gonna be a stud

Garrett Bradbury C from NC State
This kid is the next Alex Mack or Travis Frederick IMO.
Having a young center in place to go along with our young franchise QB would be the way to build the Offense from the inside out.
