  1. Oliver, Gary, or Ja’waan Taylor.

Assuming this is how the board fell, I think we’d try to trade back. I wouldn’t be surprised if teams are calling to get a QB and may be willing to give us a premium for our pick.

If Devin White doesn’t go right a head of us I think we’d take him @ 9 and move Edmunds to the outside. I think he’s (D.White) the next Patrick Willis.

You guys think this was a bad move?

    I’m not sure.

What I am sure about is that :

    1) Aaron Rodgers OK’d this move

    2) Mike Pettine was asked his input as they both worked together here in Buffalo

    3) Rodgers will be the first real legitimate NFL QB he’s ever worked with.

I think you guys guys will be fine, he does a nice job of scheming players open, but with Doug Marrone as his head cause as well as a terrible QB (EJ Manuel, Kyle Ortin, Blake Bortles) it seemed too run heavy at times not very dynamic. I fully expect this to change drastically of course with Rodgers reading the defenses and adjusting the play at the line of scrimmage accordingly. I guess we’ll see though

  3. They were the OC and DC of Buffalo back in 2013 and now they are the OC and DC again in Green Bay. This time without St Doug at the helm, I wonder how well they do.

I’ve always thought very highly of Pettine, I guess now we’ll see how this story plays out with a franchise QB.

How many Super Bowls did Calvin Johnson win?

Now how many Super Bowls did Troy Brown win?  How about Doug Baldwin?  How about Deion Branch?  How about Julian Edelman?

Why is everyome so stuck on this “there are no Calvin Johnson” type WRs in this draft?  Since when has that type of WR been the key to the SB?  Without looking, I am actually struggling to think

of one of those type of WRs that have won one recently.

Julio, OBJ, Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, TO, Calvin, Hopkins, Mike Evans, AJ, Adams, Moss...no SBs and few played in one even.

Most SB teams don’t have anything close to those types of WRs.  We don’t need a “Calvin” type prospect to be a potent offense.  Rams and Chiefs dont have one and we’re the most explosive offenses in the NFL.  I mean Hill is like 4 feet tall and dominating.

This draft is deep at WR, loads of talent.  People keep brushing it off because of this “No Calvin” type guy.  How much dif Cooper Kupp help Goff?  Quite a bit.  We can find a lot of talent at WR in this draft.

This is exactly the point of my thread

Is the question “is a little white slot receiver more useful than an All-pro?” It feels like a stupid question when you write it out. AJ Green will be more valuable than a late round, rookie, slot receiver.

Not really, I’m a big picture guy. I used Renfrow because he played in the game last night. It doesn’t have to be him specifically and he certainly doesn’t need to be white. (I specifically mentioned McKenzie along the same lines).

Obviously AJ Green is more valuable right now than a 4-6th round WR.  But when you take everything into consideration I’m asking what’s the better play for the franchise.

AJ Green is the move if you think this team can win a Super Bowl with him, do you think we’re there yet?

Matt Stafford had Calvin Johnson, probably the best WR I’ve ever seen for the better part of his career. He certainly helped Matts numbers but I’m not sure that he made Stafford a better QB.  I’m just asking what’s better for us right now.

  6. I feel like I should start practicing disliking the guy since he will 100% be a New England Patriot.

In all seriousness, As much as I would like a legit number 1 WR for Josh Allen I cant help but think having a Renfrow type (Reliable Hands, Quick, Excellent route runner) might be the best type of WR for JA’s  development. It could be why Our Front Office wanted Isiah McKenzie so bad.

Im not suggesting that I’d rather Renfrow over an AJ Green as a rookie. But when you add in things like the likely acquisition cost, injury history, and age I think it’s probably the better option.

Im curious to hear how others on this board feel about the state of our WR Corps and how they suggest improving it.

Both of those are guys I think can play LT though. Lane likely will next year. Conklin in fairness might need to leave Tennessee to do it.

This is the exact reason why I think we like him over the others. I’m suggesting that he CAN play LT if we need him to, which is why I think McBean will be interested. His versitility.

    Armlegnth?

Not Ideal for a Left Tackle.

It’ll be interesting to see how he measures up against some of the other top OLINE prospects.

I belive Little is the only top prospect with that ideal length (no-pun-intended)

Who knows but my guy is Jonah Williams

I like him as well but before we all love /hate all these guys I just ask that we all learn a little more about some of these guys: Jonah Williams, Greg Little, and Jawaan Taylor because it’s a big probability that we’ll have one of them

It's a bit of a no-no to draft a guy top ten who's not an LT. Having said that, we need to get more athletic and dominant up front so I'm at least interested. When you look at what Nelson did for Indy, you realize the kind of impact a true road grader can have. I don't know enough about Taylor one way or the other, but I'm hoping Williams is gone before we pick. Very unathletic line we have that desperately needs an infusion of TALENT. Williams is a tactician, which is fine, but I want more.

I thought the knock on him was short arms not athleticism. Anyway I’m sure either of the 3 guys can make our Line better.

I like the the notion of getting a J. Taylor and having he and Dawkins figure out who plays where (much like the Eagles did with Lane Johnson)

Copy that. My question I guess is what makes you think he can play LT? (Not being a dick) like I said I haven’t watched many UF games.

    Oh my bad.

He’s someone who’s gotten better each year.  He’s a different comparison than a Greg Little who always seems to leave you wanting him to do a bit more.

He’s got really nimble feel which is why I think he could be a LT in the NFL, but I think he could realistically play either Tackle or Guard position in the Pros which I think may make his versatility very interesting to McBean.
