Incorrect.   He has to go through waivers in either case.  If he clears waivers, and the Bill's add him to the regular PS, he can be signed to another teams active roster.  If the Bill's sign him using the exemption as the 11th PS member, he can't be signed away...but the Bill's can't elevate him for the entire season.

    Precisely correct.

It doesn't matter, he has the ability to be put on the PS as an 11th player but can't be taken off it during the season because of his status as an import player.

It does matter. The official word is that if he is cut, he is exposed to waivers before the Bills have a chance to add him to the practice squad.

  3. Think about this: Gore started the first game, Shady started the second game, and McDermott says we'll get an extended look at both of them tonight and then the other backs will fill in from there. This sounds a lot like a winner-take-all RB competition, kind of like the QB competition was run last year by McDermott in preseason.

Is it becoming likely that the loser of this battle will be cut, leaving only one as the veteran RB? Maybe the Bills kept them both imagining that one might get hurt and the problem would solve itself. But now with both healthy, one will have to go the hard way. Call me crazy, but I have a feeling both of these guys aren't on the roster after cut-down day.

  4. I'm kind of over steak. Steak is held in really high regard, but it's just not THAT flavorful. Think about how you would feel if no one had ever talked about it and you were trying it for the first time. I think it's more talked up than anything. Kind of like when people have a favorite band and over-listen and over-analyze the songs and learn to love them, without realizing that there is more refreshing music available.

  5. I haven't read through the entire thread, but I would think you might be able to get a 3rd from the right team for Zay Jones. I wouldn't think that would be a good move, though; to expect that any third rounder would turn out better than Jones is a pretty big stretch.

I would think McCoy's trade value is essentially none. The Bills will probably quietly let him walk at the end of the year.

Y'all saying "we should be better but we are not there yet" have to know that if Josh is for real, we are very much there. And we need to be while Josh is on his rookie deal. Preseason or not, I feel good about this squad and how it has been built. Let's just get this thing started!

This. It's fascinating (in a bad way) when I hear media types say things like, "If Josh Allen delivers, this could be a 9- or 10-win team." I really don't get it. Some local media are going to be pleasantly surprised. I think 9 our 10 wins have been sought after for so long that it's hard for people to hope for or expect more than that.
