I remember that. I also remember the small amusement park (Fun-N-Games) next to it that had a Wild Mouse roller coaster ride.

"Western New York children of the 1970s might remember Fun-N-Games Park just off the Youngmann in Tonawanda. Another instance of amusement rides in a Twin Fair parking lot, the park’s most memorable feature might have been the unconnected roadside attraction in front of it—the whale car wash."

I don't remember Fun&Games, guess we never went there... as a kid my rides fix was Glen Park, and once bigger it was Crystal Beach... Fantasy Island once in a while, they had a Wild Mouse too.

  2. Pressed rat and warthog have closed down their shop
They didn't want to; 'twas all they had got
    Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And pressed rat's collection of doglegs and feet

Sadly, they left, telling no one goodbye
Pressed rat wore red jodhpurs, warthog a striped tie
Between them, they carried a three-legged sack
Went straight round the corner and never came back

Pressed rat and warthog have closed down their shop
The bad captain madman had told them to stop
    Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And pressed rat's collection of doglegs and feet

The bad captain madman had ordered their fate
He laughed and stomped off with a nautical gate
The gate turned into a deroga tree
And his peg leg got woodworm and broke into three

Pressed rat and warthog have closed down their shop
They didn't want to; 'twas all they had got
    Selling atonal apples, amplified heat
And pressed rat's collection of doglegs and feet

  3. Big WTF happened here.

    Small piece of the article:

“Mr. Balin walked into the hospital able to speak and with fully functional left hand,” the suit says. “By the time Mr. Balin was finally released from the hospital, he had lost half his tongue so that he cannot speak or eat properly.; he also has a paralyzed vocal cord; he has a necrotic left hand and has lost his left thumb; he had become totally disabled and has never recovered properly.”

One thing I think we can all agree on...

Initially McCoy was better off just paying her some "hush money" and cutting his losses when they broke up.  Is he wrong to want to be able to just walk away from this relationship? No, but let's be real here... she just suddenly become a crazy person.

I do think it would be cool if McCoy made this his hill to die on and found a way to drag her through a lengthy court process and never settle with her.

This. Bills fans are crazy enough to set up a gofundme page for his legal fees lol.

    Outstanding covers?

Iconic albums maybe.  I’m not sure why the covers are outstanding.

Covers of outstanding albums, or outstanding album covers?

    Ain’t the English language wonderful?

I think its because we've seen them all thousands of times... the younger generation (earbud generation) probably hasn't seen 10 of them. And you're right, for the most part these are just outstanding albums. There is other good artwork out there... Jasper Wrath from 1971 for example, up close its some guys sitting a cave. Set it across the room and its a monster face:

Wow, I had a Jean Luc Ponty phase. I could not have come up with the name without a prompting though. But it was a real thing, late 70’s to early 80’s?

I think Cosmic Messenger really got him noticed but a few other standouts to me are Civilized Evil, the Live Lp (Ralph Armstrong is a monster on the bass), and Aurora.

If you are bored here is Ponty when he was in the MOI, this probably was towards the very end of his time with this band before he went out on his own. The guy in the plaid pants is pretty good too.

If I answered this today, I could have a whole new top 5 tomorrow. Depends on what you’re in the mood for, I guess.

Other than the MOI lp absolutely... I go on runs with things, on a Jean Luc Ponty one right now.

Interesting choice in albums.   I think our tastes overlap.   I had both of these albums.   At the time Sweetheart of the Rodeo was a bit of a disappointment.  I loved the Byrd sound especially on the Gene Clark compositions.   However, I did like it enough to get the Burrito album.     So the only one missing is Poco and as a Richie Furay fan from his Buffalo Springfield Days, I have Picken up the Pieces also.

There is one more missing piece. I owned Safe at Home once, it was a white label promo and I'm not sure if it was legit or not but I sold it probably 20 years ago.

First country/rock album ever? I don't know but it has to be one of the very first. Enjoy:

I know, and on the Florida Sportsman forums i go to they are laughing at me too for moving back down to that absolute hell.  But the daughter and FSIL both have pretty good career prospects and of course the wife wants to be closer.  I was internet scouting and Loxahatchee looks pretty passable.   1 acre lots, no HOA, room for the boat (it's in a storage facility now and i hate that, more motors get stolen from those places than anywhere else).

The current HOA sucks.  We have bahia so no grass issues, not that I would water anyway.   But I had a collapsible basketball goal a few years ago and left it by the road and the HOA had kittens.  Challenge accepted.    Then they send you a notice every once in a while "you need to keep your garbage bin inside your garage"....Yea and you can go eff yourself kindly.   If they had trash pickup twice a week, maybe MAYBE.  But this once a week crap where the neighbors on the other side of the street get it Tuesday/Friday is total BS.    I have no idea what our HOA does other than hassle me

One guy called the police because I parked the boat/truck in the driveway and blocked the sidewalk.  So I got a ticket from the PD who didn't bother to knock on my door and say "hey mind moving the truck so people can walk the sidewalk?" which I would have been more than happy to do, i was in the house literally 30 minutes and  I come out to a $45 driving award??!!!!  So after I stopped the blackout rage I did get it thrown out.

    Never again.

No offense, and I don't think you would take it that way... but your wife sounds clingy with the kids... on the other hand, if they take after you they would be more adventurous and would want a neat place to "get out of dodge" every once in awhile... aka the place more north and out of !@#$ing Florida.

Btw, ten seconds after I posted above this post the power went out for an hour... **** is moving west now.
