AOC and Other Democrats Face Angry Backlash at Illegal Immigrant Crisis News Conference

    6c98120b-09fb-4d4f-ab64-f83c09385ee5-105

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and some other Democrat officials were loudly heckled and shouted down at a press conference on the city's illegal immigrant crisis in New York this morning.

One of the other Democrats at the conference, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), served up a big platter of the current Democrat talking points on illegal immigration; these are the sort of talking points one finds beneath the north end of a southbound horse:

Let's be honest about this: Most of these people aren't fleeing violence, most aren't fleeing environmental disasters; they are leaving dysfunctional third-world countries, yes, but they come here to get work, to send money home, and many of them will try to bring in their families to take advantage of the US's generous social welfare system.

And some may have other goals, goals that could have an adverse effect on our national security. After all that has happened, after all of the waves of mostly military-age men - including some from China, a nation not known for its friendly relations with the United States at the moment -  flowing over the wide-open southern border, it's amazing that it took this long for a backlash to build up some steam, but it's happening. Even some blue-city politicians are starting to realize that the current situation is untenable. Although the Biden administration, like Ocasio-Cortez and Adriano Espaillat, continue to adhere to the same old repartee.

I saw this today... the people are fed up with the whole thing.

So it should be called Twitch Night Football.

No idea on how this works since I never have had a Roku Tv/device.

And I probably cannot watch on Amazon prime on my computer since Amazon Prime prohibits use of VPN but it IS okay to pay Amazon bills and buy on Amazon.

Just go here and watch on Thursday nights... hit the 4 cornered square in the bottom right to go to full screen.

That's why I don't feed seed mixes.  There's too much waste because birds will only eat what they like and toss the rest -- as you've discovered.  Many seed mixes, especially cheaper mixes, have filler seeds like red millet which most birds don't like (doves and juncos love white millet, however).  I feed primarily black oil sunflower seed in two tube feeders (one for clinging birds like woodpeckers and finches) and a perch feeder, but I also feed cracked corn on the ground for pigeons and mourning doves and peanuts for the bluejays and cardinals.  I also provide suet cakes.  This winter I will put out white millet in a low covered platform feeder for the dark-eyed juncos that visit my yard.

    Are you talking about Milo?

"What is the difference between red millet and milo?

Millet Is Good; Milo is Bad – Backyard Birds | The Bird Food .

The names are similar. Both are little round seeds that get kicked to the ground. Millet gets eaten (unless your mix is too heavy in millet), but milo is a filler – birds don't like it. Be careful about using most commercial mixes from the grocery store or big box stores."

This is hardly a solution though is it. An option to turn off the commentary would be better so if people wanted to they could just see the game with the crowd noise. Does this option exist anywhere? If so I've never seen it.

Personally I don't mind the announcers, even the bad ones I can live with.

Even Beth Mowins? I hope we never get her again.

After 45 minutes on the phone with my Dad you would understand 😛

Haha... I completely understand, my Dad is 88 and won't use his smartphone for anything but phone and even that is kind of iffy. No texting or anything, says it's too much of a bother.

You do have to program in the digital stations.  I've found in the past that I had to move the antenna around to catch certain stations, since some stations come from different directions. .

Hmm, I thought all you have to do is hit "channels I get", let it run through that, and you're done. That's how it worked here, only had to do it once. We don't have to move the antenna around but do live pretty close to Tampa... probably so if a bit more rural.

I've thought for a second about telling my (89 yr old, technology challenged) dad to grab one, but the idea of trying to explain to him over the phone how to hook it up is enough to dissuade me.  It's what nightmares are made of :)

I don't get all the fuss about hooking it up. You plug the antenna cord into the tv and that's it. I have a Roku tv but aren't they all the same? Then you just chose "antenna tv" or "live tv" with the remote. There is no switching anything out.
