  1. The defensive scheme is worthless with zero pass rush, also needs better talent in the linebacking. I think everyone is on the quarterback hype train but I honestly think they’ll do a similar draft to last year.

Trading back for more picks and drafting defensive guys to make an impact. I think they’ll attempt to sign a stop gap quarterback like Alex Smith if he hits free agency and then go big the following year for a quarterback. Of course I know nothing lol and this front officer has proven more than once they are unpredictable

  2. It was a sad pathetic effort. I like Tolbert. Really do.

But I cannot figure for the life of me why he is a focal point of the offense. Change of pace sure, wear down the defense sure. But that man is in on waaaaay too many snaps. Need a little speed back there. Tolbert cant make anyone miss and just doesnt have to speed, he had to lead the league in one yard gains.

Defense was pathetic all the way around. Have nothing good to say at all about them from that game.

Zay Jones finally looks like a high draft pick, Tyrod petrified to push the ball into one on one coverage constantly dumping 4 yards in the middle to the check down. Offensive line yuck yuck and yuck.

If they wanna start mills and Ducasse I guess ok, but why is miller and Henderson inactive? At least rotate someone else in as those guys get steamrolled every play.

Glenn was totally worked over on his side as well a lot of plays.

At least they have some tape to look at this week. A call back to reality.

And Jerry Hughes, those 15 yarders gotta stop.

  3. Im not here to knock Tyrod or anything.

But this process only works long term if they land and develop an elite quarterback. If you wanna have a job longer than 5 years in this league youre gonna need a top 10 quarterback along with a decent roster built to fit with him. They can be a scrappy Cincinnati Bengals kinda team this way and maybe one and done in the playoffs sometimes. But not sure that buys them long term security.

Overall they have already overachieved and shocked me in many ways.

I support the trades. All of them. Didnt even doubt them when I seen them. Questioned our depth, and lack of playmakers. Then pops up Poyer, and Milano, OLeary, Holmes. They appear to have a good eye for low key playmakers who fit what they wanna do so far.

  4. Gotta give a little credit to coaching as well for these turnovers. These guys are ripping at that ball non stop and hitting hard (in the right target areas) Its been an impressive defensive scheme for the most part. Milano comes to mind for his big game today. Play hard, every play. Its been an impressive ride watching them.

I for one thought they were doomed and Carr would just light them up all day long.

  5. I blame the pass rush. I mean were not loaded with talent in the secondary. But if the pass rush is better I dont think theyd get exposed as much. All the money is invested into the front, they should have solid pressures even without blitzing. 3rd down seems to be an issue sometimes. And as I said earlier I blame the pass rush for that. Overall though I cant complain much. The team has already overachieved more than I expected.

  6. I kinda feel like they think Tolberts bruising way of running may soften defenses up some, especially in the 4th when theyre tired. But he hasnt been very effective.

I liked another post someone suggested trading for Adrian Peterson. Gives you a solid #2 and possibly not a huge drop off in production if shady has to miss time for any reason. Obviously compensation would matter but I cant see any reason the saints wouldnt dump him in a heartbeat. Its already a media headache for the saints with the touch distribution being shown 1000 times in their games and all the media questions after the games

  7. I would say another bad week or two from Tyron we'll find out what peterman can do.

You can't blame playcalls or the lack of run game.

Obviously those factors didn't help, but tyrod cant complete the most basic of throws and never seems to get in rhythm.

He does not have the ability to anticipate or throw his receivers open. Which is exactly what this offense is.

I fully expect the leash to be very short after this performance

  8. I think this team can beat anyone.

With that said the whole season rides on two things.

    1. Run game

    2. Time of possession

If they can't control those two things I think they'll be exposed and blown out of most games.

This team can hang with anyone if the run game is working and the defense stays fresh.

My Panther concerns are who is covering mccafrey and Olsen. If those two don't have big days I expect the defense to dominate

  9. The really pleasant surprise was the defensive backfield.

I would agree.. I was like Poyer who?? All off-season long.

Then yesterday the guy looked like an all pro hustling all over the field making plays. Without a great pass rush I thought the secondary did pretty good. Allowed a ton of dink and dunk passes but eh I didn't expect complete domination. I was impressed with those guys
