Sorry if I missed it upthread... Who is your guy?/What's your plan at qb?

Cousins in FA is my first choice, in part, to make the most out of our draft picks.  I have watched him since his rookie season.  I've seen what I needed to see.  With Kirk and our current roster, we are firmly in the playoffs.

Rosen, Rudolph or Allen in the draft.  Rosen is a pipe dream but the 2 other guys can be had.  If they need to sit for a year while a Bradford or Alex Smith, etc. start for the Bills, then so be it.

For those that havent watched Lamar improve greatly from the pocket this year watch the TaxSlayer bowl

And yet i bet you have watched him how many times this year?

3 times to be exact.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the obvious.

Are you telling me he ISN'T a 1-read and go QB?  Is that what you're saying?

Baker Mayfield by a mile.  If Rosen goes 1 and Darnold 2, I am offering our 2 firsts this year, 1 of our seconds, plus our first and third next year to get to 3 and take him.

For a 5'11" QB with small hands and maturity issues...how bout no!

You guys need to stop with this foolishness, he is most definitely an nfl qb.  He will go top 10 and some team will be very happy to have him.

He may go top 10.  Hell Blaine Gabbert went 11 and Jake Locker went 8.  Doesn't mean a thing.

You don't start taking the studying aspect of the game serious for a year and then think you're ready for the NFL level.  His athleticism can only mask so much for so long.  In the end, can he stand in the pocket, read the defense, go through his progressions and deliver a well timed pass on a consistent basis.

    No.  He can't.

I'm through mincing words with guys I'm damn sure are going to struggle mightily at the next level.  It's too easy to see.

I think it could end up being Drew Locke with a veteran being signed earlier.  I put down Lamar Jackson.  I don't think Darnold or Rosen are practical at this point.  Mayfield's off field antics are too much of a red flag for me, and I have too many questions about Mason Rudolph.  I think Lamar Jackson to Desaun Watson is a better comparison than Lamar Jackson and Tyrod Taylor.

Haha!  Don't kid yourself.  Jackson is a 1-read and run QB.  Deshaun is a FAR superior passer.

Lamar is your typical super athletic QB who has relied on his natural abilities up until now.  It was just this season that he realized he needs to be able to read defenses, scan the field and go through his progressions to make it at the next level.

Supremely talented and a tremendous athlete, but Lamar Jackson is NOT an NFL QB.  Not even close.

Why does he touch the ground each time just before the snap?  No wonder the defense is in the backfield on every snap.

I hate that and the "clap" snap!  WTH are these college coaches teaching these kids?!

He looks like a one-read QB.  Hits his third step and throws to a spot.  Works within the system.  Doesn't audible, doesn't adjust blocking schemes, doesn't go through progressions.

NFL coaches don't have time to teach QBs these things.  Darnold is a walking red-flag.

In Sam's defense, with the pressure he was seeing, I'm sure the plan was to get the ball out as quickly as possible.

How many college QBs have the freedom to audible or do you see running up and down the line calling out protections?  This is still college football we're talking about.

If I'm Cleveland I draft the guy and then give him the option of not playing for 4 years or signing the contract...

Enough of these players thinking they can control what team they play on.

The Browns have no one to blame but themselves!

Who the hell wouldn't try to get out of playing for that disaster of a franchise, given the chance?  No matter who they draft, they are almost certain to fail due to the out and out dysfunction.

    !@#$ the Browns!
