What changes with Mahomes on the Bills and Allen on the Chiefs?  They were looking for a qb.  Assume if Buffalo picks Mahomes Kc a year later trade up for Allen.  I dont believe Bills mafia would be thrilled in that universe either.

First off, Allen wasn't in the original post of compensation for the trade.

And I'm not a fan of dealing in these type of hypotheticals.  Allen isn't on the Chiefs, like Marino wasn't on the Bills and Rodgers wasn't a Patriot.

I'm not arguing the Bills should have taken Mahomes.  I'm arguing they lost the trade and they did.

The 2 all pros.  Esp. Since one is Allen. Allen is a guy I'll take over Mahomes 100% of the time.

I don't recall Allen being in the original post.  Somehow I was thinking of Dawkins.

Pure BS.  This trade has nothing to do with coaching. It's 2 all pros received vs. 1 in Mahomes. That's a win for this trade.

We can't help that KC loaded up a better roster to support Mahomes vs. What has been given to Allen.

Bottom line, Mahomes on this team with the coaching staff that has been here still =0 superbowls.  Allen on KC still = Superbowl wins.

Why is this still so hard to understand?

What would you rather have, those 2 all-pros or Mahomes?

    Be serious.

If JA17 never wins a superbowl in Buffalo this will go down as the worst trade in NFL (and quite frankly pro sports) history. Sean McDivisional will also be the most hated figure in Buffalo sports history as well.

McDivisional still has me chuckling.  That's quality.

The Bills win that trade if Tre hadn't had all the injuries.  Everyone forgets, that Mahomes has never beaten us, KC has.

Unless you're suggesting the Bills would have won 3 Super Bowls with a pre-injury Tre White, this take is invalid.

Bringing this thread back to life after some time has passed from the Knox signing. I took a lot of heat for saying it on this board at the time, but it was a terrible contract then and looks even worse now.  It needs to be talked about how bad of a miss this was by Beane.  He is going to count $14 mil against the cap this year, $20m if we release him... How the heck did Beane let this happen!   His touchdown numbers were inflated that season before we re-signed him, there was no good reason to extend him at that time.  He's never flashed elite talent.  I'm still sick over it.

The negative reactions to this comment speak volumes.

The Knox deal was a bad one and there's no way to justify it.  Think of where that money could be going this off season.

Baker looked good a couple of years in Cleveland too, without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. They almost beat the Chiefs in the Playoffs. Andy Dalton on the other hand is on the tail end of a solid, but not spectacular career. I know Baker will want to maximize his value while he can, but he's still gonna have to take what he will get. No one is saying he is elite or deserves elite money. I can see someone giving him a Geno Smith type of contract. He (Geno) got paid off of a single year worth of production while having some good talent around him as well. And Geno had done absolutely nothing in his career prior to that single season. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean no one will take that chance, especially with a QB. Your feelings about Baker are probably on par with mine about JJ McCarthy from Michigan.

I just don't see the appeal of a middling QB that won't lead you to a Super Bowl.

May as well sign Brissett or Flacco for cheaper.

I guess you couldn't catch on to the sarcasm in that statement

On the Andy Dalton talk though, he's washed. He's nothing more than a journeyman backup at this point, I don't care who you put around him (minus that 49ers team. I think Shanahan could make any QB look serviceable). Baker is definitely a better option than him, on any team.

I disagree.  Easy for Baker to look good with the talent he had around him in Tampa.   He's fools gold.

At no point in his entire football career has Andy Dalton ever, IN HIS LIFE, woke up in the morning feeling pretty dangerous.

Andy Dalton, historically, has been better than Baker Mayfield and with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and few more pieces currently on that Bucs roster there'd be no drop off in production.

On what planet has Baker become this $35 million a year guy?

If you projected Allen's playoff stats over 18 games

Mahomes / Allen (projected 18 games)

    5,135 / 4901 yards

    41 / 38 TD's

    8 / 7 INT's

    524 / 1013 yards rushing

    5 / 9 rushing TD's

But that's not the way it works.

Mahomes had a terrible time in Super Bowl LV running for his life, but thems the breaks.

Can't be great all the time.

How do you explain the fact that in countries where redlining and segregation never took place, like Canada and England, they somehow still have the same issue with the same group committing a significantly disproportionate amount of crime?

How do you explain that black children raised in wealthy homes are more likely to go to prison than white children raised in poverty?

Many of the issues you mentioned, particularly food deserts and white flight, are self-imposed. People do not want to be around rampant criminality and will rightfully choose to avoid it.

The gall to claim I've been somehow propagandized by bad messengers while you spout off complete revisionist history about events like the Tulsa Race Riots (which started when black people killed whites) and their supposed "Black Wall Street" (it was a block with four or five small stores) is laughable.

I love your attempt at re-writing history without actually knowing much about it.

At least you stand on your racism.  I'll give you that.

Is he? Yes, he is great and is considered the best QB in the game. Big reason for that is his supporting cast steps up in big moments which is a big reason why they have 3 Super Bowl wins. If Allen got that same support the Bills probably have a Super Bowl win or two. Then there is Reid>>>>>>>>>>>>>>McDermott.

The biggest reason for the accolades and superlatives is because Mahomes is that damn good.

Outside of Kelce, he has rookies and JAGs and still gets it done.

  11. I'd put Bryce Young ahead of both Herbert and Jackson, but Jim Harbaugh may change the equation for Herbert.

Until Beane and McDermott show that they're interested in providing Allen with more talent at WR, I have no problem with him being off the list.

It hasn't occurred to many here that in this media sphere, Josh is creeping into Dan Marino/Warren Moon/Phillip Rivers territory.  *Fortunately, he's still young.

It's a nice thought, but healthy individuals do worse on a daily basis.
