  1. Jesus Christ.

The defense sucked. He doesn't play defense. What is so hard to understand about this?

The defense was better than Tyrod in our seven wins...this is fact. In our losses...he didn't make the difference.

And now we will be losing some of our best players on both sides of the ball and replacing them with rookies and cheap FA replacements, as well as a tougher schedule.

I wonder how long the excuses for Taylor will last. If everything is not perfect for Taylor, it's not his fault.

  2. You have lots of chatter that MIKE GLENNON will get $14+ million.

I don't think it's unreasonable to see Tyrod getting $16-20 million on the open market.

    This is pure speculation.

It's actually quite foolish IMO to think that he would pass up money like that for what he just signed for.

It's much more likely that Taylor and his agent went looking for teams to see what they were willing to pay, and after they saw that it wasn't much better, they went back and took the Bills offer.

Many of the so called experts on the other board said Taylor would never take less because he could make as much or more because that's the market now.

Turns out they were wrong. Taylor is now in line with his play...bottom starter pay for a bottom of the league QB.

  3. For the people upset about this move, you do understand we can still draft a QB at 10 right? A lot of you didn't think Tyrod was worth his previous salary. Well, now that has changed. What's the problem now? You don't think he's good enough? Fine, I can understand that and may even agree with you. But, who was your better alternative? Give me a name so I can laugh at you please.

My only problem is that it puts pressure on this staff to win now. People may sour on McDermott and Taylor very early this season, and nothing I have seen from Taylor makes me think we will do any better next season. The defense is still going to have major holes, and we still won't have money to upgrade much of this roster that needs it.

This is a win since Taylor ended up taking less money, I'll agree with that. I don't know how it helps otherwise.

  4. ross tucker said it would be absolutely crazy to let tt go.

    is he speaking the truth?

    someone just tell me.

    What's so crazy about it?

What has TT ever accomplished in the league?

The answer is nothing, but at least now he's closer to being paid what he's worth instead of stealing money from Pegula and the Bills.

Gonna be a lot of pressure right away on Taylor and this staff.

  5. So what's the total in guaranteed money?

What are the details after year 2?

    Anyone know the details?

I'm loving that Taylor is thinking about winning rather than money. In the end, he's still set for life. I'm wondering Woods is next in line to re-sign.

Or him and his agent took feelers for his value and it wasn't what they thought, so they took what they thought was the best they were going to do.

It's funny how many were so sure Taylor would make as much if not more on the open market, but he let the Bills leave him twisting in the wind while deciding his fate on a lesser deal. That tells me he wasn't as in demand as many thought (including you). He wouldn't have passed up his 40 million guaranteed over the next two years for this if he thought he could do close to or better than that...you're in denial if you believe otherwise.

I said I would be fine with Taylor on a bridge deal that paid him around 10 mil for two seasons, and now he's right in line with that, so at least he's being paid accordingly now...near the bottom for starting QB'S, which he is.

I'm a bit better with this outcome because there is no way he was worth what he was due under his other deal, but I still believe this puts Taylor and the new coaching staff in the cross hairs right away. Things could go south really fast, but this is what they decided to go with, so time to hope for the best.

  6.

I don't think Bills fans expect much anymore. They just want to be in the hunt till around Thanksgiving, then complain the last 3-4 games when it's obvious we are out.

This is exactly the mentality of the pro Taylor faction.

This team truly getting better and contending matters little to them. Just stay on the path of mediocrity and pray that everything breaks the teams way so we sneak in the playoffs.

6-10/7-9 is a real possibility next season IMO

  7. I hope this staff is prepared for the backlash that will come if Taylor doesn't perform and if this team doesn't make the playoffs.

But, hey...the Bills sold tickets to those who wanted to see some exciting plays.

This better be a bridge deal with another out after this season with less money than what he was due this season.

  8. Mentioning TT in the same discussion with Drew Brees to make whatever point you want to make about TT makes little sense and offers little to the discussion. Whether Brees plays on a team that wins 4 games a year for five consecutive years doesn't tell you much how good Brees really is. Watch how he plays the position? That's where the focus of comparison between the players should be.

Brees can read defenses, can make throws in the middle of the field, has impeccable accuracy, has a feel for the pocket. Now compare those categories to how TT plays. It is like comparing an adult to a child.

What it comes down to for this woebegone franchise is what are your goals? What difference does it make whether you have one particular limited qb to another limited qb who is cheaper? I'm not overly concerned about the options because there isn't much difference between them.

As K-9 has stated in multiple posts it's not as if TT is being judged as if this is a hypothetical theory; he is being judged on actual performances over two years. What is most telling (at least to me) is that there wasn't much progression to his game in the second season. What you see is what you get----and it isn't something to get excited about.

I'm sure you are tired of me repeating what I have already stated. Whether the organization decides to keep TT or not is not really consequential. He is the caliber of qb that gets you nowhere meaningful. He is the caliber of qb who the coaches spend more time working around his limitations rather than utilizing his more positive skills.

The most important issue for this organization is who is going to be the future franchise qb. Even the TT advocates acknowledge that he is simply a bridge qb at best. What does that say about the caliber of qb he is?

Posts like this are the reason why I'm glad to be here.

  9. Crusher made it!!!

    Chee HOO!!!

I'm legitimately happy you made it over here... you and Jm now just need to kiss and make up...

    It's a new day!!!

Losing our home and finding refuge here has definitely altered my views as how I should interact with others.

Maintaining the reasonably cool vibe here will be the approach. I am just thankful to have another place where we can have our discussions and keep up on our beloved Bills.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I wish the same to all of us who have and who will make it over here.
