McCarthy is going to be an interesting one to me. He's not a top end guy with the physical intangibles...but in the right system I really think he can do well. He's a guy that may have to helped with a solid run game behind him as well.

I think of him in the Brock Purdy tier as his ceiling. I could see either him or Bo Nix doing well in Denver.

As for my early favorite prospect...find a way to get that behemoth DT Sweat on the Bills roster.

JJ has a great arm, great mobility and decent size at 6-3….what physical traits is he missing?

  2. Harbaugh at Michigan gives me a bit of hope that new/louder voices and a coach willing to hear those voices and respond with change can break out of a rut.

I get the frustration with more internal promotions from a team that has continued to regress for three years, but maybe Babich gets more responsibility and more say.

They have a lot of draft capital and despite what many think have gotten quite a few good players in it.

Going to get younger, but that doesn't necessarily mean worse

Hey, if they hit on a ton of draft picks and keep winning, great.

But I don't want to see Diggs' contract get restructured, which is something that seems likely given Beane's history. And Beane absolutely should not be considering restructuring Miller or Knox. I would like to see Allen's dead cap come down too. Take care of the cap over the next two years and clear out the contracts that are weighing the team down.

That's not the way the cap works if you know what you are doing. Clearly you don't.

This team isn't good enough to win. They have no money to sign the players required to win because of their cap. They should take their medicine, stop restructuring players that are too old to be worth their cap hit and attack again in a couple years.

But please, explain how you see the team financing the additions needed. I'll wait.

And if I told you that it was possible to free up $73 million in cap space by doing restructures, only cutting Harty and Hines and taking our medicine on Knox and Von?

    (from the Greg Tompsett breakdown)

    No Brainers - Cap Saved

    Restructure Josh - $23M

    Restructure Diggs - $13M

    Restructure Ed - $3M

    Release Hines - $5M

    Release Harty - $4M

    Extend Dawkins - $7M

    Extend Douglas - $6M

    Extend Johnson - $5M

    Release Siran Neal - $3M

    Release Sam Martin - $1M

    Restructure McGovern - $3M

You lost me at restructuring Diggs, guy is washed.

  6. I think your math is off.

Regardless, I hear ya. As I sat in the stands last night with my 9 year old, I had the same thoughts…what have I done to this poor kid. There’s no hope in Buffalo sports…just pain. I’ve watched sports my entire life and the black hole that is Buffalo sports is otherworldly. Just the punching bag of every other team, the joke of every other fan base.
