  1. People can and will criticize Beane, or any GM for that matter, by picking out the players that he missed on. I'm not sure that's the whole picture, although I think Beane seems to be above average in choosing players to build the roster.

I think the key to Beane is the way he maximizes value of assets. It's getting late in training camp and you have a guy who is roster worthy but buried on the depth chart and likely to be cut? Beane turns that guy into a late round pick instead of a late camp cut. He's also shown he has no qualms about moving around in the draft. What all this means is that, when making choices for the roster, he has more options than we have had in the past. He sees Cody Ford available early on day two? No problem, he's got the fifth rounder it takes to move up in his pocket.

I think what makes Beane a keeper is his sense of getting the most out of his assets, giving himself the most options to choose from when spending capital, and  his confidence in pulling the trigger.

Here's an interesting stat, I think this is the first time I ever heard somebody bring up the accomplishments of a Preseason in the middle of October.

We're usually arguing over next year's draft by now. And you have no idea how happy I am not to see those threads.

  3. Here's the thing about a WR with more excuses than receptions. All he had to do was compete with the guys in that WR room. Nobody asked Zay to catch 100 balls for 1,200 yards. We hoped he'd be the 2nd or third best WR on the team. Based on the trade, was he even the fourth best? And if you are sitting around wondering if you are the fourth best WR on the team, maybe job security isn't something you should expect.

Bottom line, all he had to do was play better than a bunch of other WRs who had to catch balls from the same QB in the same Offense under the same coaches. The playing field was as level as it gets and Zay came up short. That's 100% on Zay.

  4. You want the plan? Jam the receivers like your career depends on it. Interrupting the timing not only of Brady getting the ball out in 2 seconds, but it throws off the picks and screens they use to get guys open.

As for sandbagging, I do wonder if all those East-West Jet sweeps and QB runs last week weren't setting up the flea flicker for this week. I want the bomb back in this offense now and then.

  5. I don't know what you guys are talking about with "dink and dunk". It's a pick and screen offense that runs borderline offensive pass interference dozens of times per game because they know the refs aren't going to call it dozens of times. And once the ref lets something it go, it becomes not a penalty for the rest of the game and then we're screwed.

    Toronto might want them ?‍♂️

Last I heard, Toronto is Bills' territory, literally. Another team would need to get permission from the Bills and possibly compensate the Bills. That was the whole point of the Toronto games. A lot fans hated it, but Ralph wasn't stupid (he was cheap). Ralph tied the Bills to the fourth or fifth largest tv market in North America. The entire Bills to LA  push was based on the owners wanting a team in LA, the second largest tv market. But you don't pull a team out of the 5th largest to go to the 2nd largest. Anybody that wants to move or start a franchise in Toronto has to pay us.

I think Drew Rosenhaus and his wife are doing just fine...

Drew Rosenhaus net worth: Drew Rosenhaus is a famous sports agent who has a net worth of $65 million. With a net worth like that, it's no wonder he's one of the more famous football agents to the general public.
