  1. You can't review him on draft picks alone, he has brought in key free agents such as Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Frank Gore, Feliciano, Mitch Morse, Darryl Williams, Emmanuel Sanders, drafted Josh Allen, Gabriel Davis, Devin Singletary, Matt Milano and traded for Diggs. Not only has he made some great moves he's also help turn the entire culture of the locker room around. Oh and to top it off we've went from a 17 year drought to making the playoffs every season under GM Beane and 3-4 seasons as McDermott as HC.

It's like arguing that a game of random chance is as much fun and entertaining as the game of football.

Going back to 2011, 6 of 9 OT playoff games have been won on opening TD drives and the coin flip winner has won 8 of 9 times.

Out of how many total OT games?

He said something that I found interesting in his post game presser. He said specifically that they won’t be back as the same unit again. Now he could have been talking about free agents not returning or new free agents/draft picks coming in but something tells me he will retire. The way he was acknowledging all the KC players and fans as is another tell. He didn’t do that after the loss last year. Then there is always the concussion topic which we know he has experienced.

    thoughts?

I'm completely guessing more along the lines that Daboll is going to get a HC gig, Frazier will most likely be gone, free agency, draft picks etc. imo but with all the concussions he's had you could be right also.

At the end of the day it’s a non winnable debate - however, many experts might agree that Dan Marino was a better pure QB as compared to Jim Kelly. Kelly arguably had the better surrounding cast and maybe the better coaching.

Will Josh overcome and move past the shadow of Patrick Mahomes?

Interestingly enough, the one way that Josh may overcome Mahomes is for one of the reasons why Kelly > Marino. Kelly was tough and a fierce competitor. I am not slighting Mahomes but his sledding has been easier than Josh’s. Josh has willed himself to great play and sought to move forward every year. As good as Josh is the ceiling may not yet be touched….yet.

Josh is a warrior and for this reason alone my money is on him to do what right now seems impossible.

I never really understood these.... Josh Allen isn't playing against Patrick Mahomes he's playing against the KC defenses who he clearly destroyed. Our defense was worse on this day and I have no doubt it will be addressed in the offseason.

I’m sure that’s what McDermott was thinking.  And that’s the conventional line of thought.  But you gotta read the room in this situation.  Chiefs went 75 yards in about 40 seconds and Bills went 75 yards in 50 seconds the previous 2 possessions.   Mahomes and Allen were playing on another planet and both defenses looked gassed and helpless.

Then you risk the ball not touching a player and going out of bounds and them getting the ball on the 40 plus if they dont touch it they don't lose any time off the clock. We did the right thing and me like most were saying 13 seconds we can do this and then we all saw what happened next. Why aren't more people asking where our all pro safeties were this game, what about Milano? He played awful along with Edmunds. At least the DL was getting penetration it's up to the LB's then to pursue.

  6. I really thought the cardinals DB coach Greg Williams did a heck of a job with what he had to work with and will be getting promoted by someone to DC, I'd take a look at him or NE LB Coach Jerrod Mayo has done a heck of a job with that crew plus working under "The Hoody" I'm sure he's picked up some things for sure. As far as OC I think Ken Dorsey would be the smart choice, definitely should get a promotion.

  7. For me at the end of the day coaching is big but what's even bigger is talent. All we had to do was get a sack on mahomes to end the game or break up 2 passes. I don't care what scheme were in the players on the field HAVE to make those plays. How is Kelce open 19 yards downfield? How is Tyreek Hill ever open? Where were our All pro safeties?

McDermott flipped the franchises around but at some point getting to the divisional round/ afc championship game aren’t enough.

Does McDermott get 1 more shot? 2?

if we meet KC again next year and lose again, do part ways?

Is this a joke? We went from 17 year drought to 3 out of 4 years making playoffs with 1 of those being a game away from the SB, McDermott/Beane will figure it out and get the proper signings/draft picks here imo.

Good question . This coaching staff is just too cautious and conservative and instead of being balls out because they had everything to lose they kept being cautious on the verge of losing.

I don't know about that, the DL was busting through many times but just missed getting to Mahomes on several plays which unfortunately turned into big runs for them.

I have to assume the Bills defensive brain trust must figure Mahomes will just find someone else to throw the ball to, but for the life of me I just don’t see why at least in some of the most critical situations (like that final 13 seconds) that they continually allow these two critical receiver weapons to just release freely from the line of scrimmage into the secondary with no one really near them most of the time? Why not jam these guys at the line to at least attempt to disrupt the timing of the play if nothing else? These two guys are continually killing the Bills and it’s almost like we are inviting it.

They do this to just about every team in the league and I'd assume the game plan was to contain both but as you saw then Mahomes was running wild on us, this is where I'd like a more instinctive ILB, I've tried giving Edmunds the benefit of the doubt because of his age but 4 seasons of mediocre play just isn't doing it for me anymore. We need our Urlacher there! Also not making any excuses but losing Tre White is huge, I like Wallace and Jackson but when you lose an all pro like that, those guys are non replaceable.

Great thought. Still a darn good player. But the Bears moving him would be a $24M dead cap space for them, I believe. I don't see them moving on.

A trade doesn't leave dead cap space does it?

But they didn’t, so here we are. We know who did well for the Bills this game. Allen and Davis. We draft better on offense than defense. Just stick to what we do best.

You're acting as if Rousseau and Basham are already busts in rookie seasons. Both were rotational DE's and Basham was even less used than Rousseau, even the great Bruce Smith needed more than 1 year of play, he had 6.5 sacks year 1 as the starting DE (there is no comparison just stating facts) so let's not say they're done yet until they get a legit shot which at least 1 of them will imo when we let Hughes walk. Rousseau had 4 sacks and an INT as a rotational end which is not a terrible first year plus just got some playing time and now knows what it takes to win in the playoffs so I'm not writing off either of those guys yet but I'm not going to lie I'm starting to get the feeling AJ Epenesa is going to just be a rotational guy which is why we went out and got both Rousseau and Basham last year.

Diggs, Davis and McKenzie are about all we have at WR right now. We need an impact FA there and we need a high draft pick there and a few more corners and maybe a MLB.

So we need to spend a high draft pick on a #4 WR? Is this drunken logic? Just trying to make sure.

That’s what we got from our last 1st round pick, and last two 2nd round picks…COMBINED.

Don’t anyone talk to me about defense anymore. It’s clear that the best way to win is to load up on offensive weapons and run up the score. Allen and Davis were amazing tonight, but we need a legit RB and some speed at WR.

Sure as long as they can play a 2 way game and sack the QB or stop the run I'm game with that.

  15. I would bring in a DC who can adjust on the fly, time and time again you've seen the Leslie Frazier defense not adjust to what's happening in game and it's the whole this is my defensive plan and I'm sticking to it no matter what, that's not good enough! I would then unload these large contracts of guys who are making alot of money but doesn't warrant that type of contract such as Jerry Hughes (18 Tackles-2 sacks), Star Louteleilei (17 Tackles- 3 sacks). I love the feel good Jerry Hughes story and at 1 time was a prominent piece of this defense but is now not even close to the same player, Star if his dead cap doesn't kill us should be gone, he literally does nothing and i don't want to hear he eats up space, teams run right him with effectiveness quite often. I've tried to give Edmunds the benefit of the doubt because of his age I'm just not shelling out huge money to a guy who seems to be making the same mistakes in year 4 as a starter.

The plan would be to bring in a top level player on defense and some guys who become free agents are.... Von Miller, Dante Fowler Jr, Jason Pierre-Paul, Akiem Hicks, Chandler Jones, Hasan Reddick, Emmanuel Ogbah, Charles Harris or how about pairing J.C. Jackson with Tre White? Whatever it is we need to get pressure on QB's and yes we drafted some talented guys but we need veteran leadership in here while our young bucks are progressing, this is a championship caliber offense and we need to use the Rams approach on defense but we have no Aaron Donald and I'm quite sure there isn't a Von Miller either, hell do we even have a Dante Fowler? I like how Dane Jackson has come on to the point where I think he may have made Levi Wallace expendable imo.

In the draft I'd say it's imperative to add a first or 2nd round CB and either a 1st or 2nd round DT capable of disrupting the interior because Harrison Phillips isn't getting the job done. I like Ed Oliver but he can get blown up at times, I'd like to see a Vince Wilfork kind of DT for us. I'm not sure who you replace ILB Tremaine Edmunds with but you don't really have to worry about that until next season. This is how i'd approach this upcoming season.
