Haha are you guys messing with me or are you being serious? They gave him 1 year worth of incentives for absolutely no reason other than to motivate him to have 1 good season. You can't be that dense to see what's going on here. If you think a highly paid RB in his 30's is part of a rebuilding team then you need to get your head examined. In 2-3 years when we are expected to be good Shady will most likely be retired. Wake up people
They need Shady to ball out this year so they added money, simple.
If that's why they did it, it's freaking genius.
Its win win. Shady balls out and does great this year. he Is motivated and makes more money, Bills get a guy who can show he can still ball so he is better trade bait
-
Kind of call. Demonstrates to Shady that the Bills new regime values him.
Shady was already under contract. They didn't have to do this.
Nah its a smoke screen. Havent you read McBeane is getting rid of all talent on this team?

All 32 QBs. Where does yours rank?
https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-top-32-nfl-qbs/
2015 PFF Grade/Rank: 86.0/12
2016 PFF Grade/Rank: 83.2/13
PFF Elite stat to know: Taylor’s 10 touchdown passes under pressure last year ranked fourth in the NFL.
Still, not a franchise QB. Just stop already.

TT will lose his job by mid season, Peterman comes on and leads us to the playoffs.
-
Ragland is listed as doubtful because of his knee
But wait, he was another leading us to the promised land...

Trading/releasing good young football players for average ones?
Not sure.
Over rated, over hyped by Bills fans, type players. Players that never lives up to hype or draft status.
Great trades to get something for them and get them off the roster.
My only issue is an old saying if you will "you can't serve two masters"
IF Beane had come in with , or ahead, of McDermott, this roster would have been fully purged. I expect it to be next offseason
-
More likely in that scenario that the Colts keep Luck and trade the top pick for a bonanza of draft picks, ala the RGIII trade.
Which is why if I were Indy, I put Lucks ass on IR for the full season. Take the crap season and parlay it into draft picks to finally put talent around their franchise QB. Let his shoulder fully heal. If by week 6 he is 100% then keep developing his shoulder, body, mind so he can hit OTA's ready to kick ass.
-
So tempted...but Ill sit on my money for now.
-
Get new scouts?
Which we did this offseason correct? And new Front office personnel ( two I think were in the running for the GM Gig?). I want THIS STAFF with THIS Set of scouts to have the highest draft picks possible and as many as possible.
Oh and to the OP, you are screwed, you know like Buffalo has been for 17 years with crappy drafts...so...

Been a fan since 86' will watch until dead or until the NFL gpes does up
-
It cracks me up every year, fans saying other fans aren't really fans because the other fans want the team to finally bottom out, get the first pick every round and completely rebuild. Listen, for those rah rah, Cobra Kai never want a loss folks, great on you. We need you, really. That said there are many of us fans, some of us 30+ years and never wavered, get the fact that this "re tooling" BS every year leads no where.
I for one look at a long term picture, same one for 17+ years with nothing but futility but I digress. I want the team to crap out this year. I want the #1 pick in each round period. I want Brandon Beane to have that fire power and ammo to be able to FINALLY start a true rebuild of this team. I don't give a damn what our record is in 2017/2018 if we see new blood and talent that is progressing and we FINALLY (OH PLEASE GOD!!!) try to address Franchise QB. Not keep putting these career backups out there praying that if you polish the turd enough, it will shine.
Now does that mean we hit on that pick, absolutely not, BUT at some point you must pull the trigger. If I am correct, the Buffalo Bills have never, in the age of the modern draft, used a top 10 pick on a QB. Sure as heck not a top 5. Way past time we did that. You MUST take the chance, but to take the chance you gotta draft high.
Now on another note, does a Franchise QB guarantee you a superbowl/ Superbowl win? NO it does not. But NFL history shows that outside of a couple "prefect storms" you must have one in order to have a chance.
So yes I am a die hard Bills fan, have been since Jim Kelly joined the team in 86', and YES I hope our record this year is crappy enough to give Beane that #1 pick so we can have a shot at trying to turn this thing around finally. -
Wait a minute. There is a real game on Sunday. Aren't you rooting the team on for a W?
Yes and no. I get the big picture. Personally I feel starting the inept TT in this offense gets us a higher draft pick. Starting Peterman would = more wins by season end.
I want the #1 Pick each round this year with Beane in charge, never wavered on that
Glove Wearing Mary has "concussion" as an excuse for his entire pre and post concussion career sucking....can't Taylor get a 1 week pass?
He has had a pass ever since he got here
-
Yes and the ready made excuse is there for all those that need something to excuse his bad play (if there is some)
"well he missed some time with concussion so slow start is expected"
Lmao forget the last 6 years of suck, it the concussion lol. I am ready for his backers to be Full bore come Monday
-
Sunday can't get here soon enough
they we'll really have something to talk about
Right?!?!
-
Pat Kirwin said 7-9 at best and that was if Peterman played. Said he would love to see him get all the reps he could this year, so we could know what we have in him.
Ultimate scenario for people in the "wanting the Bills to tank" category.
Beat New England twice. Lose the rest.
Now THAT is a 2-14 record I could love with lol
-
Peterman, to me, is the logical guy to start. This is a 5-7 win team, let the guy who will be your backup and maybe your future get you those wins if he can. Worst case Scenario is he develops into our 10+ year backup.
Pat Kirwin yesterday on moving the chains said the same thing. 7 win team tops, BUT he feels under McBeane we will finally progress. He wants to see Peterman play to see what we have there.
-
TT isn't out of Concussion protocol yet, what happens when he takes a hard hit? What is the protocol when a player suffers two concussions in 10-14 days?
-
What if he takes Reilly's spot?
"some people, like Rico, Master Bruce...just want to see TBD burn... :-)
-
Inconceivable.
You keep saying that word...I do no think it means what you think it means...
-
But he is so great...
-
This is pure crap. So Mayfield is nothing because he makes reads in the pocket and delivers the ball on time aka not being touched? I can't say what I want about this dog crap article without getting a ban.
-
I thought this would be a fun topic to banter about. How would you rank the starting QB's we have had since Jimbo retired? Boy, is this list cringe worthy...
Todd Collins
Alex Van PeltDoug FlutieRob JohnsonDrew BledsoeJP LosmanKelly HolcombTrent EdwardsRyan FitzpatrickBrian BrohmEJ ManuelThad LewisJeff TuelKyle OrtonMatt CasselTyrod TaylorI would say my top 5 would be: Bledsoe, Fitz, Tyrod, Flutie, Trent
Bottom of the barrel: Brohm, Tuel, Cassel
GO BILLS!!
Why? It like asking which pile of crap is better than the other.
-
yep. And Beane said everyone is impressed and he is dping better than expectedSmart move is to play Nate for lots of games and see what he is...

How did I know the biggest whiner about an over rated backup running back, would be you? When are you going to go root for someone else? For years you have griped about this team.
