The moderation here has almost been non-existent., so it certainly wasn't biased. DR had 55k posts in here. C'mon, man.

I am not aware of a single person whose viewpoint was suppressed. I personally acted on member v. member events. Any other suggestion isn't true.

I’m sorry that’s what you took that statement to mean.  I’m also sorry that’s the only piece of my post that garnered a response.  Unfortunate.  I really debated responding, but honestly wanted to help any way that I could.  I thought that was the intent, but I don’t think that now.  The sentence you referenced referred to this paragraph (below...).  Again, my opinion is just that, but my response to your request was sincere and polite.  I would think that would be respected from a poster in a forum the mods on the shout box referred to as a “conservative hell hole”.  I hope that alone helps you to see why some people would feel there was a bias against their beliefs when those kind of statements are made publicly.  A moderation team can be almost non-existent.  But if said moderator team expresses themselves as I’ve shared, when they do show up (and let’s be honest, they have) even if it’s once, their actions will always be weighed against their comments.  That was the standard for mods we set at BBMB.  Again, I’m moving on for the better of both parties, so no need to further consider my voice.  But maybe go back and re-read my original message and see how the same pre-conceived notion you say doesn’t exist (we’re human, we all have it) led you to think I ever accused you or your team of thought suppression (your words).

What’s worse, is the conversations that were allowed to transpire after he could no longer defend himself, both publicly on the forum and ESPECIALLY in the shout box.  It’s very unfortunate.  I don’t fault any one person, but I do suggest a non-partial moderator for this forum (and unfortunately based on my observations, that does not currently exist with all due and sincere respect).  I’ve seen some ugliness on the shoutbox from two of your mods (regarding faith and politics) that in my opinion rivals anything I’ve found offensive on PPP.  It was disappointing for me to read and I believe honestly that Mods should be held to an impartial standard where they’re not censored, but are expected to hold back the extreme sides of their viewpoints.

As I have mentioned before, as a Buffalo Bills community, PPP isn't really a main focus, but had remained over the years as other subforms were phased out.

I have been thinking for a few years (or sometime after the clubs were a part of the software) that this place would be better served as club than a subforum. I'm shocked it didn't occur organically to be honest. A club owner can name their own moderators and choose an open/closed club. This also moves the forum further away from Bills moderators, which is desirable. None of us really want to be involved in this.

    I'm open to your thoughts.

    SDS,

First, I want to thank you for your hard work to bring this forum to life.  I’m relatively new here, but in my brief time up until just recently, I’ve enjoyed it.  I have tremendous respect for your moderator team, as well.

Being new and in relative good standing, I do want to say that what was just 6 months ago, a very solid place for people like me to speak freely about political beliefs, has turned quickly into a chaotic, antagonistic breeding ground for trolling.  In all fairness, I don’t have the history to know what transpired before I arrived.  But since arriving, I’ve seen firsthand, that the decent conversations had between opposing viewpoints are MASSIVELY and intentionally derailed by (my guess), the same trolls that derailed and forced a very tough decision in closing BBMB.  It’s unfortunate.

I’ve tried on many, many occasions to have civil conversations with these folks, but their intentions and interests aren’t discussions, but rather attempts at causing disruption.  It’s become so bad, that it absolutely has caused good posters to succumb to their human instinct and react to them.  DR was a phenomenal contributor, who like many of us, grew tired of the nonstop antagonistic, multi-username trolling.  I say that not through a conservative lens, but an honest and ethical viewpoint having watched it all, personally.

I do believe PPP will be a shadow of what it once was and could’ve been, as many of the serious, faithful and every day contributors (myself included) have moved on to what is perceived as more impartial forums.  I don’t share that to chastise and I hope you can see my respect towards you and your team in my wording.  I share it because any effort made now after what’s transpired will most likely be moot.  But I hope that with impartial moderation, PPP can someday flourish.

My apologies for the lengthy response, but I appreciate the platform to do so.  I myself have personally moved on, so I would caution any stock you put in my thoughts on the trolling and how you lead your mod squad.  But as a once-major contributor at BBMB (both on the forum and behind the scenes), I hope you’ll put stock in the special moderator suggestion.  I also would again suggest refraining from some of the moderator conversations on the shout box that give your posters a glimpse at what some may feel is an intolerance towards opposing political viewpoints or the concept of faith.  Referring to a Christian, Muslim, Hindi or any faith-based individual as “delusional, crazy and stupid”, as I recall seeing is just bad form in my honest opinion.  It creates the proverbial spark that burns the forest, IMHO.

I say this with tremendous gratitude for having had the chance to contribute here.  I wish everyone well and most importantly, health and wellness that extends far-beyond your usernames and into who you are personally.  Thank you SDS and all I had the pleasure to speak civilly with.  I enjoyed my time here.  I leave with no hard feelings whatsoever, and am hopeful that what I’ve shared can help bring in good change that all can share and enjoy.  Take care and God bless!

  3. After watching Amy Coney Barrett get pulverized by Democrats over 3 days (not for anything she did, but for what she might do) and deflecting every effort and attempt of theirs with the unmistakable grace that her condemners lacked, most of the country said...

”She handled it with grace, intelligence and an unrivaled knowledge of the law.”

    Tibs...

“The judge is one arrogant person.”

Remember when your party stood for equality for women, regardless of their beliefs, lifestyle or race?  Here you have a women who has demonstrated a knowledge of the law and constitution that maybe a handful of men could rival.  She’s dedicated her life to the mastery of her knowledge and it was on full display.  At no point did she stray from the law, or constitution.  She’s had her career and family dragged through the mud, been accused of being a white colonizer, has her bi-racial adoptions questioned, and that’s just the tip of her experience.  At no point did she grin, chuckle, become angry or stoop to anything remotely resembling the disgusting politicians that interviewed her.  But Tibs, you know your own unconscious bias is showing. She‘s conservative, faith-based and ran graceful circles around your entire political base, while never referring to a single note as Democrats LITERALLY read their talking points to try and make her stumble.  Yep...  She’s arrogant, Tibs.  Way to see things intelligently and from the lens of neutrality.

Thanks for your great knowledge on writing. I have made my living as a writer.

The bottom line remains that this anticipated blockbuster is a whole bunch of nothing, so far, and it's getting late in the game.

Don't despair, though. Big news coming on Hillary's emails. If only she was running for President.

I appreciate your perspective (sincerely).  My only rebuttal is the “nothing so far”, is by design as evident by the actions of Google, Facebook and Twitter, among the populous media; each of which have chosen a side (monetarily) and therefore, have proverbial skin in the game.  My opinion is they are incentivized as such.  Facebook, Google and Twitter have not nearly been as discredited as the media until really only recently.  So it should serve as a notice to all in my opinion (Democrat, Rebublican, Independent) that anyone with an interest in the results of a potential crime, should not be the administer of the information regarding said potential crime.  Unfortunately, those vested parties are not just admins of information, they are knowingly removing proven information from the public under the false pretense of it being “disproven”.

    Let’s play editor...

The crux of the article you shared is based off the first few sentences (pasted below).  As someone who writes professionally, let me show you how you can tell this is an Oped piece and not the “breaking news” you intended it to be.  Biased website aside, see the sentence from your article I pasted below?  Notice the bolded section the author wants you to focus on?  Just a tip, but a bolded statement in journalism is to help the reader focus on the crux and not the crucial fact-basis that comes after the crux, which you see below is nothing more than a generalization that “people familiar said”.   What comes after the masked over statement of “people familiar with...” is entirely 100% opinion-based with a blatant bias.  There are no facts in the article, no sources cited and therefore it has no merit or basis for sharing outside of leveraging the author’s similar opinion on things you have personally (and angrily) shared that tend to turn a good deal of posters off from you.

But the findings ultimately turned over to Barr fell short of what Trump and others might have hoped, and the attorney general’s office elected not to release them publicly, the people familiar with the matter said

Google Twitter and Facebook are cancer.  Been this way since their missions changed in January of 2017.

Actual liberals would be outraged by what they've done.  Everything from censorship to promoting cancel culture.

But these aren't actual liberals at these companies or the people that vote for the party they've gone in business with.

    Truth!

They are capitalists taking advantage of an anti-capitalist group that has been conned.  The damage being done by these companies is truthfully an iceberg.  We have no idea whatsoever how deep the harm and damage will run.  My opinion.  They are not for America, for the liberal agenda, for democrats or democracy.  They serve money, control and power.  That is their God and they are as faithful to it as it gets.

As long as you and yours aren't among the dead, it's all good, right?

As long as you and yours aren't among those who spend months in the hospital recovering and incurring massive medical bills that health insurance doesn't cover, it's all good, right?

As long as you and yours aren't among those "long haulers" who suffer physical and psychological symptoms that prevent them from returning to work, it's all good, right?

As long as you and yours aren't among those who suffer what might be permanent health conditions that limit their quality of life, it's all good, right?

To be fair, I’m among those that lost someone to COVID recently.  There’s no winners, unfortunately.  But I’m not for what I’m seeing in our country right now.  I believe both the WHO and CDC are starting to swing themselves to those thoughts as well.  The damage done to our country over the collective responses will go far beyond those lives we’ve lost.  We’ve planted proverbial seeds that were politically motivated and will potentially have impacts that outlast those we elected to lead us in these times.  New waves of depression, anxiety and mental illness have grown exponentially.  Parents, friends, family, neighbors divided and isolated during one of the scariest moments of our generation.  This, in my humble opinion, will vastly outweigh this awful pandemic.  Again, my opinion.

And she is doing it with no notes. If you mow your subject, you don't need notes.  I made notes for my thesis defense, but once I started speaking I never referred to them.  I was prepared (had practiced it about 30-40 times.).

Yes!!!!!   That’s such an incredible skill.  I loved when they asked what she was taking/ using notes with and she lifted up her notebook and it was blank.  She’s impressive!

Anyone else pretty nervous about this game.  I don’t think Tennessee is going to lie down.  I expect a close game and just hope the Bills can pull this off

Yes.  Feels like a trap game.  It feels like the fans are seeing a wounded and bloodied Chiefs lying on the ground and we’re itching to strike the death blow that makes us “official”.  Good news, the players aren’t.  They’re not looking past the Titans.  The Titans are a VERY good football team, almost deceptively good in the mood of the Raiders or Dolphins.

Agreed. I say this as someone who would have rather had Merrick Garland on the Supreme Court.

I do have an argument with the process (I really think it should have waited till after the election under the Lindsey Graham Rule), and I do think she should probably recuse from the ACA decision and maybe some litigation over the election on a case-by-case basis. But she is clearly qualified and of good character.

I get the sense that she’ll do that if she feels compelled by the people.  I tried to go in open minded and looking for character flags in partisanship.  I never agreed with RBG totally on her thoughts, but what made her so appealing to me, was she knew the law indisputably and levied it in her decision making.  That’s the same quality I see in Amy.    She won’t be pushed around or influenced and it resonates.  I don’t believe she has any pre-conceived notions.  I believe like RBG, she’s a true student of the law.  I’m excited to see what she does and hopeful that she makes incredible non-partisan decisions that benefit the country.

All due respect to the other Justices on the Supreme Court and the Senators in this hearing, but I've heard said that often ACB is referred to as the smartest person in the room and she is proving it today, as I suspect she will as well once seating.

Agree and I almost wish we could restart this thread to discuss our early impressions and not so much our doomsday scenarios.  She is really incredible thus far.   Very impressed!

This is the first thread I've ever started in PPP. It's basically posing a few questions to all of those who say the Joe/Kamala ticket is basically a shoe-in, as well as expecting a larger "Blue Wave" to take over the Senate also. I'm not here to bash anyone or anything like that. I'm an adult and can agree to disagree. I myself am a conservative person so I vote Red across the board. I have many friends who are not and it doesn't matter to me either way, even if I can tell that sometimes my opinions or stances bother them.

In 2016, I didn't really see it coming. I knew Trump had support, but I didn't foresee him blasting Hillary the way he did in the Electoral College. To me, personally, it was great. I have never been able to stand Hillary Clinton. I always thought she was as corrupt as they come and, symbolically, everything wrong with the Government structure. I live in VA and leading up to the 2016 election I saw Hillary/Kaine signs or stickers all over in various places. I mean they were everywhere. All of the mainstream media outlets were putting out their poll numbers talking about her comfortable lead. Everyone in the msm, Obama, Hollywood, entertainment industry, Congressmen/women, and the like were all saying there was basically no way in hell she would lose. Even in the "exit polls" that evening they were telling you the same. Then the numbers started to roll in. Red state, after red state, after red state, after red state, oh there's a blue, after red state. In 2016 Trump crushed the hopes and dreams of liberals everywhere. The TDS was so bad that some campuses cancelled classes, some employers gave their people days off, and people were crying all over. Well, the ones they wanted you to see on the news anyway.

In 2020 it's the exact opposite. Even with an absolutely biased, liberal MSM I see Trump supporters everywhere. Caravans, boat parades, rallies, people walking through the streets, stickers on cars, signs in yards, Trump supporters showing up to greet Joe Biden in areas where he is going to supposedly campaign, I see it everywhere. There are more people out now for Trump, even more so than in 2016. In 2016 it was the "silent majority" that won Trump the election. Well, either they aren't as silent anymore or his support has grown over the last 4 years despite what the MSM is trying to portray. In either instance that does not bode well for the Democratic Party. In 2016 Hillary would have enormous gatherings of people in various places showing support. I am yet to see a single Biden/Harris gathering of any kind outside of like a 15 car parade I stumbled across on Twitter with about 20 people standing on the sides of the road. And don't give me the 'Rona excuse either because that hasn't stopped people being out protesting, rioting, looting, and burning. In my travels this year I have only seen literally a handful of Biden signs (maybe 5, tops) and maybe two stickers in windows, but the MSM still claims he is comfortably ahead in the polls and he's bringing this one home for the Democrats.

    My questions are these:

Where do you actually believe that Trump has lost the votes he had in 2016, an election where he won easily?

If the MSM was lying through their teeth in 2016 about Hillary/Kaine then what actually leads you to believe they are not doing the same now with Biden/Harris?

Do you honestly, I mean honestly, believe that the "silent majority" is for Biden/Harris?

Answer away my friends and fellow Bills fans. Everyone please try to keep it civil with your neighbors.

Personally, I can’t see any demographic where Trump has lost his base, or the silent conservative majority.  I haven’t seen Biden/ Harris signs in any of my travels.  In any other election year, I’d call this a landslide from what I’ve seen alone.  But what’s even crazier, is there’s a “me”, watching things from the other side, and saying the exact opposite.

Translation:  Truth is in the eye of the beholder.  We may have all moved well-beyond the objectivity we challenge others to display.
