I’m reluctant to post this...  I’m likely to get flamed.

My daughter went to UConn for undergrad and Cornell for grad. At UConn she got a BA in German and a BS in Chem. Engineering. The BA in German was so she could have a semester abroad, which is a big deal these days.  At Cornell she got a MS and PhD in Chem. Engineering.
She immediately got a “good job” at Intel doing research in semiconductor physics.  She hated it there.  No camaraderie, cut throat competition, 60 hour work weeks, no priority on work/home life balance, layoffs.

She decided that this was not a good situation for starting a family.  Her husband has a very good job, so shortly after the birth of my granddaughter she was able to quit, get a MS in Education, and now she’s a high school physics teacher in a middle class suburb.  Loves it.  Best move she ever made.

    good stuff

cant say she didn’t try her best

Last night's cooking soundtrack was Rubber Soul, immediately followed by Revolver.

It reminded me of a time in 2003, hanging out in my buddy's car before heading into a Lollapalooza to see Jane's Addiction.  We were chilling out to Revolver and commenting on how we both loved Paul's harmony in the lyric, "by my window," from "I'm Only Sleeping."  I sent him a text to let him know that memory had popped into my head.

Re: listening to these two albums back-to-back, he said, "No better two-for in rock and roll."

I immediately said, "ooooh … now THAT is a great topic."

Trying to figure out how to frame a thread for all of us great music fans to discuss what we think are the best "back-to-back releases," in rock.

Zep provides a challenge.  Personally I think I'd say III - IV.  But then I think about how awesome I - II and II - III were.

Police Outlandos - Regatta is a great one.

    Thread worthy???

then followed with Sgt Pepper.... 3 for 3

with Penny Lane/SFF as a two sided single in there... amazing

Another contender for consecutives is The Stooges and then Fun House and then Raw Power

I think the melody of the medley is strong. the jam itself is very, very weak. to each their own tho

Also, ANY Grateful Dead medley is better than that one. Way better.

the medley is a patchwork of nothing songs they couldn’t complete over the prior two years

They spent so much studio time on it and hated the sight of each other the whole time

As a fan it was nice they got back together for old times sake and putout a good album for 1969, but it’s way below the standard of their peak years in RS/Revolver/Sgt Pepper/White Album.

Beatles couldn’t jam, they grew up on Chuck Berry riffs and country/western songs, which is solid in its own right and gave us a lot of great work, but they were hopelessly out of touch by 1969 in the rock world

They gave partial credit to songs where there were a lot of harmonies. I’m sure that’s where the additional song credits come from.

    Ringo’s additional harmonies????

    it says lead vocals anyway....

he was lead on 11 released recordings

they totally biffed the easy one on that list, all the rest is suspect

Stop and Smell the Roses doesn’t count

  7. Lead man for many Ingmar Bergman masterpieces, the Seventh Seal most popular.

I preferred Winter Light, that had to be a comedy, right? Just like that JFK movie?

The good people do it themselves, and my PF has people constantly walking around with towels and that spray, cleaning everything. They mop the floor like every 15 minutes it seems like........

You'd be disgusted on how many people don't......

I enjoy Russilo podcasts that go over the horrible types you meet at a workout

  9. Does Paul song John songs in concert?

if so, the hits or the stuff like Mother or Walrusman?

Writing my first handwritten three hour exam tomorrow, the first time since 1992?

recovery day Wednesday can be spent figuring out who sang more leads, this has a lot of interpretation inherent, bias as well

like does I’ll Follow the Sun get Paul a lead credit? I preferJohn but believe it is a dual lead for She Loves You (big of me)

  10. A study of plastic surgery can be made from Curb through the years, I think they exaggerated the effects to make another point, or I hope they exaggerated It...

I "enjoyed" Seinfeld as much as I did Friends.

At the time they were OK.   Today .... not so much

It all git stale for me.

    Younger Elaine was hot.

    Jennifer Aniston is STILL hot

Phoebe and Joey were a matched set of stupid

Jerry’s women were hot and then they disappeared and that was that

the misogyny of the show, with Curb is part of the comedy
