I saw Star turn his back when he saw AP coming at him
The excuse McD gives is that Star occupies 2 blockers... he could at least hold the line and make a play every once in awhile. Good 1-tech DT’s (especially those making 50m) can still get penetration and make plays. McD makes it seem as though it OK for him not to do that... no, he just sucks!

I rewatched the game and it doesnt look like Oilver was the problem it looked like Star was
Star has been the problem all year. I love the direction McBeane has this team going, but Star was an expensive mistake. He’s average on his best day. He should switch contracts with Jordan Phillips, but Star isn’t even worth Phillips’ 1yr/5m deal. Sad.

No thanks. We have to pay Tre and don't need this kid.
I honestly think that as long as a player isn’t AB level crazy, McD and the rest of the locker room would make it work. That being said, Beane ain’t giving up 1st round draft picks and paying 80m on a new contract.

King is a weapon if healthy (which appears to be the case). Not sure if he has certain contact demands maybe turning teams off, or just that teams don’t like fun punters. Pat Mcafee was fun and outspoken. Punters are people too.

He really started to decline at the end of his Oakland tenure, and he wasn't good in Denver
He was injured in Denver, only played 4 games. The season prior he had a 47 avg/42 net. I doubt he fell that far off the cliff. Back to full health now. I’d at least give him a tryout. He career average is damn good. Still only 30.

I’d love to take a shot on Marquette King, but I guess teams don’t like outspoken punters.

Mack was on a 5th year option NOT a franchise tag.
Thanks for the clarification!

With respect the first sentence is not the relevant bit. It is the bit immediately after your bolded. "The player may sign ONLY a one-year Player Contract with his Prior Club for that season.."
That could not be clearer to me.
I’m super confused on this. Kalil Mack was traded to the Bears at the beginning of September last year and then signed a 6 yr deal. Is this a new rule or something?

Because I was all about JuJu before that draft. I knew he was a stud. So yeah, when they trade up for a guy who played against subpar competition because they hired his college coach, it’s a little frustrating.
IMo, Zay will never be close to the player as JuJu. It was a really bad decision. That said, it’s a sunken cost and he could be a solid possession guy for us.
I mean this is much better than fighting his brother naked. But much like DK Metcalf, this doesn’t really impress me. Getting all jacked for a receiver isn’t necessarily great.
I don’t think Stevie Johnson ever lifted weights lol

So....Solomon Thomas was reportedly #1 on the Bills board in 2017 per Leroi. Anyone else remember this?
It seems as though Thomas is more effective inside than rushing on the edge. Maybe he can be our Kyle Williams replacement ?

So many good and fast WR’s in the draft that will cost us far less than making a move for Anderson.

If Jerry Richardson had to sell his team for work place misconduct, you’d think Kraft would have to as well considering he’s involved in a human trafficking ring.

If we didn’t have Mccoy I absolute think we would make a run at him. He would be an upgrade to the run and pass game. Would be Allen’s best friend, that said I would never want to pay a rb 14 mil a year. I’d pay big money to a LT, WR or Qb, not a rb. Value wise, to easy to replace in the draft.
We can save $6,425,000 cutting Shady. I guess you could roll that into a Bell offer. But paying 14mil a year for a RB could haunt you long term. It’ll be interesting to see if the Bills FO goes big game hunting.

Why stay? Team was supposed to be an AFC contender and went 5-11. Malik Jackson may be a cap casualty as well unless they extend him and spread his cap hit out. They went all in and are now somehow over the cap with no QB, no WRs, a mediocre Oline (largely injury related in 2018), a top picked RB who may not even be very good... They didn't even pay their best player yet!
Jax will need to cut their losses in 2019 to get set up for the future. They're going to have to pay Ramsay, Jack, and Ngakoue if they want to maintain a strong defense. Just a mess...
I feel like I remember Jacksonville having like 70+ mil in cap like 3 or 4 years ago... mismanagement of epic proportions lol

My dream is to sign Daryl Williams, Matt Paradis, and Trent Brown.
(LT) Trent Brown - (LG) Dion Dawkins - (C) Matt Paradis - (RG) Wyatt Teller - (RT) Daryl Williams
Probably would cost us at least 10mil per year for each guy. It’s would take upwards of about 35mil of our cap space. Still would have nearly 50mil left over. Sign another stud pass rusher and a WR... Playoffs!
One can dream, right?

He’s probably a choir boy in comparison to Richie Incognito, so the Pegula’s may be open to giving him another shot.
Now there is no excuse for domestic violence, however, we have no idea what that woman did to provoke him. Using a racial slur (as rumored) towards Hunt could’ve set him off. I didn’t think it was an unforgivable act. It wasn’t a Ray Rice style KO.
I don’t think his life should be over because of that incident.

Remember, the picks and cap space don't automatically make this team better.
It's a tricky minefield these guys are going to have to navigate, and luring top FA talent to Buffalo is not easy, if not straight up borderline impossible.
How well they do in this off-season will decide if they stay or go. McBeane that is.
Unless Beane is an idiot, there is no excuse why this team shouldn’t be better. I’m not saying we’ll be able to lure all of the big fish (generally there isn’t a plethora of impact FA’s to begin with), but with the resources we have, we should no doubt be better. How much better? Remains to be seen...

How could I forget him?
Another fantastic pickup!
Its hilarious reading all these bizaare yet silly opinions lamenting over our 2017 draft selections where by just about any reasonable objective view of our 2 past drafts you couldn't come away thrilled with how things have been unfolding
Man, with 10 picks and close to 90 mil in cap space, the light is shining bright!

We were hiring an assistant ST coach which means that it would be a promotion for a coach. This means we could have looked at any Assistant ST coach out there. I find it hard to believe, that the best assistant ST coach in the whole league just happened to be in Carolina.
All is well. His left toe is probably better than Crossman. We’ve upgraded.

I might look at chris Morgan for OL coach
Sweet! Now go get me Rod Wilson!
Morgan sounds legit. Maybe bring back Andy Levitre for a few years as well.

Sean Kugler, OL coach from Denver is a guy I got my eye on for a replacement. Coached our OL for a few years back in the day. Maybe he could bring Matt Paradise with him.

I love Poyer and think Bills should throw a few dollars his way, but a holdout on his part would be counterproductive. Safety is just not the same as CB, it’s basically the RB of defense in terms of importance. Yes, the elite guys get paid, but the average/above average guys are replaceable.
