true.it's also his best shot at playing, hence the restructureHuge credit to Taylor who could've told the bills to gft. He obviously wants to be here and for that I'll stand behind him
-
yes he does. Whaley is hitting his stride imo. He's never had complete say,but he's gaining more power...earned,and growing. Give him two more drafts, and he will be an absolute asset and highly sought after.my opinionThought it deserved its own thread since the one about him staying is massive and things get buried.
Whaley deserves props, imo.

You are both wrong, and at least one is a poor speller. This was a saavy move by your GM. Give it up to Doug!

hate when this franchise ooerates with soul!46m
Howard WGR @hsimon62
Problem I have is Bills made what they think is best move "at this time". What about long term. What about being in playoffs annually?

Howard WGR @hsimon62
This franchise is ooerating like it's soul purpose is to break drought and get a wild card spot. Championship vision anybody?
What I've been saying forever and he's spot on.

Poor Cutler hasn't a home now

that's a perfect deal.it really is@viccarucci
Tyrod Taylor's restructured deal w #Bills covers 5 years total. After the first 2 years, it becomes a year-to-year agreement.
-
Brandon a better GM than Whaley? You've lost marbles that don't even belong to you now...good grief man, control yourselfJust when you think this organization is done making terrible moves, they go and do something like this.
Tyrod isn't good. It blows my mind some people think this is a great decision.
Russ Brandon was a better GM than Doug Whaley.
The only good news is this pretty much guarantees Whaley being axed in the next 2 years. Hate it for the coaching staff but McDermott should've told Pegs and company first interview he wasn't going with TT.
-
exactly. Build other areas while the getting's good.all in due time. But if Watson falls to us at 44,pull the triggerMy opinion of Whaley just increased tenfold. No pressure to draft a quarterback this year and next year's class will be much better.
-
Lots of speed at TE in this draft.I agree with you, other than hurting our rival, this would not make senseWith as deep of a TE class this year rather spend FA dollars elsewhere such as fixing the o-line instead.
-
If this is true,WLB just became our first pick.expect a trade back to get Cunningham or Reddick. McDermott has said all along...WLB is his most needed part.We will get Safety and CB in the second and third rounds, who will start immediately, and ST in the later rounds. That's gonna sum up this year's offseason..but,if we could land Godwin with whatever pick we get for trading back,I'd call that a successful one
-
Hoyer was insurance. Not needed now.perfect play DougShifty Whaley may have been playing them against each other, all the while knowing they wanted to keep Taylor.

yes! Whaley ain't quite the dummy most think he is. He's done ok,and getting better.of course, big spending owners don't hurtWow -- only 10M cap hit for Tyrod this year? Jackpot, Bills. Well done. Now draft his successor.
-
better yet,Woods and ZB!Both Woods AND Alexander
-
I agree with thatYou don't have a clue.
If you watched last season you saw an offense that while falls asleep at times, scores points and makes big plays with a defense that couldn't stop a nose bleed.
Fix the defense, build on the offense. It's common logic. What is so hard to understand?
-
Six mil.....get Woods Re-Signed now!
-
yup! That's the way to do it,Whaley. Let's see how much cap that freed up.And if we draft a QB at ten,I'm ok as well. That would also save us from more cap room from signing Hoyer....Good move to lock up the best QB available. If we want to draft one at #10 I'm still all for it.
Now, all options are on the table.
-
The most logical decision. Good job Whaley.
-
you're right,my bad.The topic was Gilmore. Not RT.
-
even with the revolving door at RT,we've led the league in rushing, right? That's "worked out well",if not stellar.wouldn't you agree to that?Lol.
This has worked out so well the past 18 years hasn't it?
^^^this is the plan to follow,no doubtI'm of 3 minds:
1) kick the tires on a vet like Vollmer to see what he's got left
2) look for a guy like Garcia or Roderick Johnson in R3
3) if all else fails, move Glenn to RT and Kouandjio to LT
-
holy crap! If Buffalo was seriously considering that contract,or anywhere NEAR said contract, they better just get Mr.Bobby signed, and Scrape the leftovers for a RT@rapsheet
The #Lions and OT Ricky Wagner have agreed in principle on a contract, source said. It will eclipse $9M per year, setting a new market.
-
I dont know about smarter, but a better talent for sure! And probably smarter than the other versatile pollack experiment from last summer.
-
I agree he is elite. But worth the #10 when we have the depth I stated, and so many other holes to fill? Anybody's guess as to who may,or may not be throwing it to him at this point...I wouldn't go TE in the first if we had Rodgers slinging the rock. Not with this defensive mess we're inHoward is one of those elite guys, worth that pick for that reason. Otherwise I wait on a TE since we have Clay.
-
Money talks....it's not a"Billsy" move if someone offers more money manLOL we just cant win. Can't even sign a right tackle. How Billsy
-
The TE's this year are fast! I'm not thinking it's worth the tenth overall pick. We got Clay,O'leary came on pretty good, and can probably retain Gragg cheap enough.I'd roll into the season with that, while Logan Thomas gets some reps for depth. That's just me thoOJ Howard at 10! Or Jake Butt later and be patient while he recovers from surgery. Someone is going to get that value.
