For every big play Gabe made he had an easy or crucial drop as well. Not just last year, but every year. Coleman has one of the lowest drop rates and fights for the ball

No doubt. That’s why I’m excited for Coleman. The guy that’s open even when he is covered

Coleman was a good pick. He is the type of X receiver we never had. Josh never had a player like Mike Evans, Justin Jefferson etc. I’m not saying Coleman will those guys but he could turn into a Tee Higgins. The most egregious act was trading back with Chiefs and allowing them to get the speed of Worthy

expound on why this was egregious? the fact that our gm shows nfg about who he trades with as long as it benefits his franchise should make you happy.

That’s probably true and an interesting thought. The drops were tough last year.

ive seen a lot of Gabe 2.0. Remember Gabe making those big time catches in big spots. prior to the disappointing season last year. If we can get a better version of Gabe as a floor...its a successful pick.

    I’d love it!

Question is, where would you hold it?  Need somewhere you can hotel 100,000 people at the very least, probably much more. Need a spot large enough to allow for all those people along with the NFL roadshow around the event. Need a place that has roads in and out.  Need food and beverage within walking distance of the site.  Cans/Uber/Lyft.  A real public rail system.

Not sure we meet those requirements.

Stadium lot?  Once the new stadium is built, have parking for at 80 to 100k?

Inner Harbor?  Outer Harbor?  Neither make sense.

based on my experience its rather impossible. but who knows

Do we know how many WRs were on Allen’s list? All 3 of those guys AND Coleman might have been. I like consulting Allen on this. Just keep in mind, he hasn’t seen tons of any of these guys. I want his opinion because he’s the franchise. At the same time, I don’t want him overriding scouts with more info (I’m not suggesting that happened).

I feel like Allen wanted a guy that could make that ridiculous catch in the big moment. Colemans has a lot of ridiculous grabs

I have zero interest in watching a draft in that manner. Being in the middle of downtown 2 miles away from a stage listening to a loudspeaker.

Back in the day sitting in the NYC auditorium would have been my speed . I’ll sit in my recliner

First time for me. was always on my bucket list. We spent all day and night for the first round down there. We were gifted Vip access to the Verizon event at night. They had their own large area and restaurant access. Free food and drink all night. It was great. Thanks to Verizon for a great experience.

For all the whining and bellyaching about Coleman being our first pick (I was disappointed myself) it’s time to man up and admit that none of us are draft experts…some draft analysts had Franklin going late 1st, and many of us would’ve been happy taking him at 33.  For those in here who had Franklin going 4th round, where have we erred, and why were we so wrong?

I 100% admit Coleman was not even on my radar at 33. This is because I was conditioned by months of endless listening to WGR and all the "draft experts" basically removing him from 1st/2nd round contention. I would have bet any money Franklin would have been the pick. This is because I know jack ***** about scouting. I get my info second hand from what I listen to and 99.99% of this board does as well. To whine and cry that beane and the bills have no ***** idea what they are doing is absolutely insane to me. the fools on the radio and twitter make you think if a wr does not run a 4.3 40 time they are worthless athletes. not saying this pick will work out but looking at it now Coleman seems like a fine young man who's tape shows an absolute baller that took over games. his upside is big. excited for him and for this offense next year. go bills

Love this!  Beane killing the draft.  And we still have 9 more picks and 3 in the first 2 rounds next year.

Coleman is a football player.  Bills fans will realize this kid can ball soon enough.  If you think you know Coleman because of his 40 time then you don't know anything about him.

Well said man. Too many on here just get their info second hand from biased outlets. Nowadays if a guy doesn’t run a 4.3 they are worthless. That’s the narrative.

And my hunch is we want Franklin.  Anyway:

    On the class…..

    The best? Almost certainly not.

ESPN’s Matt Miller speculated we could see eight WRs drafted in Round 1. But I’d give only three WRs from this class a Round 1 grade. Granted, those three WRs are freaking awesome — I have this year’s WR3 ranked above any WR from the last two Draft classes. But after the Big-3, I’m not seeing any WRs with real WR1-upside. I’m just seeing a whole lot of landing spot-dependent WR2s and WR3s.

The most overrated? Possibly. This is not a great draft class based on the analytics. At the very least, it doesn’t look anywhere near as strong or as deep as 2021.

Genuinely, I don’t ever remember a WR class where the film and analytics were so misaligned. And it almost felt as though the less I liked a player’s analytics, the more highly regarded they were by the Mock Draft Industrial Complex. (The inverse of this was true as well.)

What metrics are actually predictive at the WR position? Basically, all of the stats I’m using in this article. Generally, the more often a stat is referenced (such as career YPRR), the more predictive it is.

    Worthy:

Without getting too deep into the weeds here (we’ll save that for the footnotes), I’ll just say that… Worthy’s 22.8 BMI ranks the 10th-lowest of any WR since at least 2000. Among the 45 lightest WRs, DeVonta Smith (24.1)[16] is the only one to post a 1,000-yard season in the NFL. So, even if the NFL appears to care less about low-weight / thin-frame WRs in recent years[17], the overall track record is pretty abhorrent.

It’s much easier to argue that Franklin has no worse than the fourth-best production profile in this class than to argue that he’s the WR9

Great breakdown. I def think they are targeting Franklin

Why? Because it hurts your feelings? You haven't given a single other reason, nor have you explained how the Chiefs don't end up with Worthy.

Unless you suggest we took Worthy despite not wanting him? That does not sound like a great strategy.

🤣 it’s because these people live in permanent fear bunkers.

Devils had 112 points last year and finished with less points than the Sabres this year. They had a ton of injuries but the goaltending was super bad.

I look at Ruff as this: a 2 year try out to get the team to the playoffs, after 2 years they'll either give him another year or so or move on but my hope is he pushes this team. They are capable of making it to the playoffs and winning a round

Who needs facts when you can make wild generalizations
