Sky judge is a joke bro. They call what the want to and it alters the game. You can't even challenge their ruling....see last week.

I'm not sure what you are talking about with 5 hour games.  Each team has two challenges.  Those challenges should be able to be used for every call in the game, including bull#### penalties.

You’re literally saying what I’m saying.  It’s a joke because it’s not applied properly.  If sky judge did what it could do and did it properly it would be helpful.  The fact that it is poorly and randomly used is what makes it awful.

You wouldn’t need the opportunity to “challenge” their decision if their decision was right.  A tool that gets more calls right in a game should be a good thing.  But it’s not used that way

So why didn’t they correct the non existent holding call on Allen’s TD?

That’s the problem.  It happens randomly.  You can go 6 weeks without it happening once then on the Sunday night game it happens 3 times.  There’s no rhyme or reason to when they are watching.

Replay assist is a joke.  Where was it for Sam darnold and the vikings?

If the NFL was serious, penalties should be a challengable event.  Phantom holding calls, personal foul calls (Rapp today) and other bull#### penalties that ruin games.

Two challenges per team and it's all able to be challenged.

The idea of replay assist is amazing.  The application of it is awful.

Having someone that can clearly correct awful calls is better for the sport of football (especially as reffing tends to get worse).  The problem is these eyes in the sky seemingly only watch one game a week and tend to take lots of pee breaks.

I don’t think the answer is “challenge everything” unless you want 5 hour long games

  4. The other part is the simple fact that holding happens on 100% of NFL plays.  The refs have it at their discretion on picking what they are going to call and what they will not call.

If you are going to throw a flag because you see holding then when the booth goes to replay they should be able to clearly say “yep there it is”.  If you can’t do that then you’ve done an awful job as a ref.

  5. The “replay assist” is one of the most important things that the NFL has and should be invested in heavily.  The problem with replay assist is how they choose to randomly involve it in games makes it come off as INSANELY sketchy.

Replay assist should have recalled back those god awful holds.

But in week 1 replay should have overturned that god awful roughing the passer where Ingram never even touched Murray.  Replay assist should be fixing these game changing mistakes.  The problem is it only seems to happen randomly when a team in need of a win has a 50/50 play during a time of momentum.

The NFL needs to understand their careless use of it makes the league look awful.

Is Hall viewed as a top 5 RB?

Going into this season Fox had him rated 5th and NFL had him 3rd.  In those same websites Cook on fox was unlisted and outside of the top 10 and he was 12th on NFL.

PFF had Hall 7th.  Cook was 24th

CBS had Hall 6th.  Cook unrated outside top 20

ESPN had Hall 2nd.  Cook honorable mention outside of top 10

  7. I know it’s a tale as old as time, but one of my biggest pet peeves as a Bills fan is the fact that the two groups of players listed in the subject of this topic are discussed in totally different terms.

I’ve watched games where Wilson has been silent (or drops balls), Hall has been stuffed, Sauce can’t tackle and these guys are viewed as all pro talent regardless of any of their faults.  Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying they aren’t talented players.  Williams in particular is a beast but Benford since he was a rookie has been absolutely lights out when healthy and you can’t find an analyst in the world that will put Benford in the same conversation as Sauce.  The Jets tried to manufacture a 1,000 yard season for Hall (they failed) and yet general consensus is Hall is a top 5 RB in the league.  Cook coasted to 1,100 yards that same season.

Am I the crazy one?  Are these average talents and I’m just wearing homer goggles?  Because I swear what I see on Sunday out of Shakir & Benford in particular is insanely high quality play.
