I think Bernard grabbed the punter’s helmet and it was coming off, and the punter then took it off. It was ambiguous.

Bernard was pushing up on the helmet and the punter just kinda helped take it off himself.  Could have gone either way glad nothing was called

  2. Maybe I’m an optimist but I think we can win our next 4 games and then split the last 6.  IF and only IF there is a major overhaul on offense or a come to Jesus meeting in an attempt to find an identity.  If we prance out the same jet lagged team we have the last 3 weeks then yeah no chance at the playoffs.

My position's been unchanged since we signed him.

My money says that he's finished as anything but JAG.

But for the money he's getting, there's absolutely no way we get that level of play from him.

I can agree with that.  That being said I wanted Chandler Jones and he’s currently roaming the desert in a tin foil hat.  I’ve never been a big Von fan.  Mainly because of his constant reminder about how he loved LA and it seemed like he came here in some ways to cash a check and grow his podcast but he won me over a little last year.  Prior to the injury the guy could play.  I think he still has something left in the tank as a specialist but you don’t pay a specialist his type of money.

He's young, almost only 35.  He'll come around eventually.

If you think a HOF talent can’t get himself back to relevancy that’s on you.  It’s insane to give the guy 3 weeks and write him off.  If this team was humming right now you’d be saying the same thing “he’ll be good when we need him”.  But we suck all of a sudden and he’s toast

  5. I get the vibe that there is a feeling within the building that they are cursed.  We went on a magical run two years straight and we were very lucky.  Winning close games Josh couldn’t throw a red zone interception if his life depended on it and most importantly we were remarkably healthy.  And these last 2 years seems like we are cursed and we aren’t playing the same way we used to.  They don’t look like they are having fun anymore it looks like they are trying not to make the mistakes that the pundits say they make.  And in doing so they are playing slower and not as free.  I’ll be the first person to say Dorsey is a huge problem but there is something else going on there.

  6. I think he still has to work his way into shape.  When Tre came back he took his time and it still wasn’t pretty.  A few weeks ago I’d say “Von will be back to himself when it matters”.  But now my concern is it matters right now or we don’t even make the playoffs

  7. There is no trade that is going to fix this season.  It’s a problem from the top down.  We were at the doorstep during the Covid season.  Then there was 13 seconds and while no one said it vocally I think everyone in the building at 1 Bills Drive knew that, that was a superbowl caliber team that got outcoached at the worst possible time between not squibbing it and then playing god awful 13 second defense.

And ever since that game we keep running it back.  Sure we made a splash with Von Miller but the theme has largely been…..

lets get the old gang back together.  Get Jordan Phillips and Shaq Lawson and resign Cole Beasley and John Brown and give them shots, etc.  And the new talent that we do bring in we either don’t utilize them properly or at all.  And I’ve been super guilty of falling for it.  I love Lawson and Phillips but they aren’t it.  We finally get out from underneath Star’s contract and then throw money at Knox and Ford because the belief is we have the talent within the building to win.  But no other team in the NFL feels that way.  The top teams are constantly looking for game changing players that fit their scheme and identity and I almost feel weird saying I have no idea what our identity is.

I don't know if anybody watched Gabe Davis's interview, but most of this interview was spend ranting about the offense being overly complicated and not integrating plays specifically made for newer players and rookies. Stated that the offense needs to be simplified so the players can just play a lot quicker

Which is so crazy because when I look at this offense at times it seems overly simple and bland
