  1. Here's the staying power of draft picks ... I don't know why all the hate when we get into these rounds ... its a coin flip ... Who knows maybe Kechly will coach up his BC LB alum for his old coach ... the guy is small but we need to cover NE's TE's and short crap across the middle ... I'd rather have that size going against that junk than James Harrison sized LB.

OK .. that copied like crap .. who is that dumb ass ... what is said is 5th rounders ... 81% of time in Year 1 ... then 57% in Year 2 .. down to 38% in Year 3 ... so if he even makes Special teams and plays he's on the plus side of the odds.

  2. Here is why I don't like the pick at all. Chances are better than 50-50 I think that Peterman beats out Cardale for the #3 because he will fit Dennison's system better. And Cardale will be cut. But we already have the career reliable backup in TJ Yates, who is probably better than Peterman will ever be. Cardale has a chance to be a starter if not a star if everything goes right. If everything goes right for Peterman he is a little below Cousins. That's best case scenario. If we didn't sign Yates then sure, the reliable cerebral accurate field general may be a necessary role. But we have a Peterman already.

Yates is auditioning to be the next QB coach of the Bills as he's Dennison's boy ... he is here to help all the QB's acclimate to Dennison's system ..his playing days are done. Opening Day we will have Taylor, Peterman, Jones ... and Yates will be QB coach post training camp

  3.

Peterman will be in the NFL. If you are looking for a backup QB then the pick is fine.

Jeff you certainly have exponentially more posts than mine . . but I've read alot of your stuff of late ... sorry we didn't grab your boy .. .but time to move on ..we're 4 rounds later ... slap up the Peterman pic and turn the other cheek ... unless your going to flip over to the Chiefs. At this stage no one is going to get complete love ... but we have 2 #1's next year courtesy of your boy's new team .... let's focus on the future .. GO BILLS!!!

  4. Don't bash the comparison ... but I find it kind of funny the draft report on some guy named Brady who went in the 6th a while back ... was also thought to be a 3rd rounder at the time ... think his arm strength has worked out just fine in the AFC East ... who knows .. every once in a while the lottery numbers hit.

2000 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Tom Brady (pick #199) (self.nfl)

    1. Poor Build
    2. Skinny
    3. Lacks great physical stature and strength
    4. Lacks mobility and the ability to avoid the rush
    5. Lacks a strong arm
    6. Cannot drive the ball downfield
    7. Does not throw a tight spiral
    8. A system type quarterback that be exposed if forced to adlib
    9. Gets knocked down easily
  5. First bad pick of the draft. This guy will never be more than a TJ Yates...and we already got one of those. Wasted pick, especially when we could've gotten a DB, WR, or DL

Per McShay ... "most pro ready QB in the draft" given the system at Pitt ... I saw the game he played against Clemson ... 5 TDs 0 Ints in their house ... their only loss of the year ... in round 6 take it ... at least we didn't blow future draft picks like some on a weak class.

  6. Listened to his press conference, he sounds like a great kid with a love of football. Very high energy and excited.

Totally blown away from White's presser as well.. the smile .. the passion (if you haven't watched on Buffalobills.com do so) ... totally different attitude than the quiet Gilmore ... I love it ... and agree .. with other comment .. can't wait for Zay Jones' tomorrow ... I'm totally drinking the McDermott Kool Aid on these first two picks!!!! Let's Go Bills!!!

  7. Do I understand we gave up three picks for this guy and two picks for the last guy. So 5 picks for two guys. A 2nd rnd, 2 3rd rnds and 2 5ths to get 2 guys. One near mid and the other at the end of the 2nd round. So much for the trade back, just couldn't wait to spend/waste that draft capital. Not being negative, just extremely unimpressed.

I can't spout the percentages off the top of my head .. but I think the staying power of 2nd round picks have more longevity than 5th round picks ... and one of the 3rds we flipped was from KC last night and I'm A-OK with their 2018 1st rounder ... still in our pocket from KC.

  8. The most interesting thing about this pick to me is that McD apparently thinks more of our LBs than we all do.

Honestly Mills was probably our worst starter last year. An upgrade was needed.

I'm intrigued to see Ragland (slowness comments aside) and a full year of Shaq Lawson ... those guys did nothing last year .. they are like to additional #1 and #2's this year ... knock on wood. Stay healthy ... Love everything about this draft so far.

  9. Your OL Day 1

    LT - Glenn

    LG - InCognito

    C - Wood

    RG - Miller

    RT - Dawkins

Honestly, I love Woody and what he's done for Buffalo .. but I'd of preferred to see us take a Center in the 3rd. We led the league in rushing and interchanged all over the line .. Woody got the most miles (as Ritchie had a little time off from Miami).

  10. Gunner ... greatly appreciate reading your posts ... just curious of the remaining top 10 ... and looking in terms of "need" maybe vs. Best Player Available (i.e. - RB/Cook .. which I really like him ... but with Shady .. not sure about looking in other areas) ... do you have concerns over Zay Jones? I'm kind of biased as saw a lot of his games this year as my daughter goes to ECU .. I think he's Robert Woods and then some .. possession receiver and catches virtually everything thrown his way.

Jones is my 12th best remaining. Nothing wrong with him at all, in fact I like him a lot. Suspect by the time we get to #44 he is one of the top 5 left on my board and I would be good with that pick. Isn't as physical either in his releases or in run blocking as Woods but has a bit more height and I think it a better hands catcher but he would be filling that same #2 possession guy spot that Woods vacated.

What a GREAT night Gunner ... I'm very happy ... thanks for the reinforcement .. might of been a bit higher than you had .. but let's see what happens .. I think you won't remember Robert Woods post this year. Let's go ZAY!!

  12. Love the move ... I'm totally good with a CB from LSU aka dbU ... 4 year starter .. 2 time HS valedictorian .... and wore the #18 at LSU (read about it) .... if you read PFF .. White was the #1 rated CB for 2016 and ... so I'm not so sure we lose a lot for not taking Lattimore and don't think he'll be hitting the hooch with Dareus ... I'll take a CB from the SEC vs. the less pass happy Big 10 ..and we get a 3rd and a 1st in 2018 ... BRAVO!!!

  13.

Dan Bylsma and Rex Ryan were hired 2 years ago. Rex got less than 2 years and Bylsma got 2 years.

Rex is a character actor and the act wore thin ... hiring his brother illustrated that .. he went with nepotism vs. logic ... he personally destroyed a top 10 defense ... he was a desperation quick pick after Marrone flew the coop to pacify the fan base with new ownership .. .basically a crappy band aid.

Bottom line say what you want about Pegula ... he saved the teams and is loyal to Buffalo ... I'd rather have a bad Buffalo team .. than the Toronto Bills.
