  1. I love the kid and think he’s going to continue to grow and improve and possably be the best we’ve had since #34.  However he comes across a bit full of himself/over-confident.  Saying he learned “everything” from Gore in one year is a little hard to understand.  No one learns everything about anything in a year.  If he’s going to be infront of the camera more regularly as our stud RB he needs to choose his words with a bit more finesse.

  2. From what I’ve read/looked at he appears to have a monster leg, just needs coaching up on accuracy and using appropriate power rather than trying to destroy the ball every kick.  He sometimes seems to swing way too hard and pushes the ball left...similar to when I try to smash a drive off the tee and send it OB.  If my penalty shot/mulligan is nice and easy it usually goes for 250+, haha.

Which dominant game changer would you have drafted at pick 54?

Personally I don’t believe there were any available at 54.  I’m also in the majority that think this was a good quality pick.  I’m just attempting to tamp down some of the expectations from posters that think he’s going to be the most dominant force on the line.  Someone said he was as a mix of players and said he was something like 25% Bruce.  With his utter lack of speed/bend/flexibility anyone saying he has some Bruce in him is not using much of their grey matter.

A 2nd round grade is a 2nd round grade. I’d say players taken between RDS1-3 should be starting caliber and if you’re a good GM you can find starters/role players in the 4th. As far as having a let down season is concerned he still logged 11.5 sacks. Epenesa has the talent to be a 10 or 12 sack per year kind of guy. He has a great bull rush and I value that higher than speed and finesse moves. Epenesa should have been taken in the 1st.

I think he was a solid pick, I‘m just attempting to provide some balance to those that think he should have gone in the top 15.  As far as a let down season I think what most likely let him tumble down to 54 is lack of growth.  He is reliable, but his numbers haven’t moved much at all throughout his career.  High floor/lowish ceiling  guys aren’t bad picks, but certainly not 1st rounders in most cases.    I watch a lot of Big ten ball, his sacks are usually coverage or blown blocking assignments.  He get a lot of hits on the QB, but just like we have been complaining about for a long time he gets there a step or two late.  This was in the Big Ten and QB releases are only faster in the pros of corse.  With our secondary being top 5 I think he has a chance to get those coverage sacks, hurries, and hits.

So in summation, I think it was a solid pick and I think he can be a solid starter for years, however I’m not creaming my pants like some posters.  Good? yes...great? could be but based on his growth plateau and lack of speed I personally am leaning towards not likely.

Nahhhhhh. You take Epenesa there. Epenesa should have gone in the 18-22 range. He has Pro Bowl talent at DE. The fact that he was available at 54 is unreal. Had any of us fans mocked Epenesa to us at 54 we would have been laughed at, mocked and ridiculed and maybe even accused of having a bit too much to drink. Epenesa at 54 is a highway robbery in every sense of the word. There is no other option at 54. Epenesa is 10000000000000.0000000% the right pick there.

31 other Franchises didn’t think he was any better than late second round....most passed on him twice.  I hope he’s a very productive starter for many years for us, I’m just not quite as impressed with his film/body of work as most seem to be.  He was projected to be a top 10 pick before the 2019 NCAA season...after showing basically no growth/improvement on the field he had an overall letdown of a season and here we are with him sitting in the mid 50s.  Quality role player?  I think so...dominant game changer?  Doubt it but I’d love to be wrong!

They are not in the oil business. They are barely in the energy business anymore. But they are heavily in entertainment racket.

I am aware of this, which is why I tried to make the point that they are up the creek in the short term.  If they still had major oil investments/business ventures they would still be able to generate cash flow.  Granted it would be at low oil prices but being fully vested in the entertainment industry they have extremely limited to zero ability to generate any cash flow at all.

Oil prices cratered in 2016 too.

Anyway, his business is entertainment now.  If he still had a large chunk of his worth in oil, he's nuts.

Oil prices have never before in history fallen this fast or remained this low for an extended period of time.  They only thing worse to have your money in right now would be entertainment.  At least people still need oil, albeit at much lower demand.  The entertainment industry (including sports) will emerge from the pandemic a battered and disfigured version of itself.  When only essential business are able to operate, you don’t want to have all of your money tied up in the least essential business of them all.

And fortunately it has not been needed thus far.

    Perspective is still required

This is obviously photoshopped.  How many parking garages have you been in that have acoustic drop ceiling panels??  That’s the first give away, sprinklers coming out of the afore mentioned drop ceiling and the light source/how bright the beds are illuminated are some others.

I’ve been thinking about getting them even though I’m in New Orleans. My brother is in 237 row 14 (or maybe 15). I’ve thought about adding the 2 next to him, using the opener plus any game around Thanksgiving and/or Christmas and selling the rest. I could probably pay for almost the whole year doing it that way and end up going a couple of time as year anyways.

Go for it, but it’s my understanding that they won’t sell new season tickets to anyone outside of a 150 or 200 mile radius of Orchard  Park.

Yes, Poyer is going to get a raise.  Again, if you have been paying attention to Beane and McD they have said time and time again they want to sign and keep players who fit the culture and have performed.  This sends a message not only to that player but to the rest of the organization (and league) that the Buffalo Bills are a professional franchise that takes care of its own.

Poyer is still in the prime of his career.  He will get paid by Buffalo.

Is having to be convinced by Hyde and others to not hold out part of the process/culture?  Also, past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and this was his worst season as a Bill with his play diminishing as the season progressed.  If we extend him great, if he walks after next season so be it.  I trust our GM to not overpay.

    ummm that doesn’t conform ANYWHERE

My wife has worse stories growing up as the youngest of five with three older brothers.  There are legitimate dangerous hazing practices and these “offenses” don’t meet that threshold in my view.

Unfortunately, he is a liability in pass pro. I think the coaches are going to be caught in a constant no-win situation with him. We lose a great play maker when he is not on the field but when in pass pro he is going to get Josh killed. I don't know that all the coaching in the world is going to enable a guy who is 5'-7" to take on a blitzing backer at 6'-2", 245. Physics.

I think he can only improve his pass pro/blitz pick up skill set, can’t really get worse than his rookie year.  Hopefully he grows by leaps and bounds in this department and we can see some hits like this in his future.

This is #BillsMafia, not battery throwing Eagles fan scumbags.

FFS man they choked away a lead that the Texans have NEVER overcome under O’Brian.  They are now 1-22 when down by 16.  It wasn’t a hard fought back and forth slugfest.  It was more of the play to not lose horse crap we’ve seen all season.  The players should fee like they dropped the ball big time, and they obviously know the fans support them, I’m sure they heard Duuuke being cheered after his receptions.   It’s just not the time for smiles and high fives.

No it would have been ruled dead but since infraction occured in endzone it would have been ruled a safety

Not true...let’s say running back received a handoff 5 yards deep in the end zone, proceeds to fumble the ball forward towards the goal line.  Defender picks it up, it’s a touchdown, not a dead ball/safety.

One issue with peanut oil is that it can impart an unwanted flavor in the food. Just sayin’

Actually......you should use any oil you want. I’m just chiming in because I don’t know what to do with myself until game time. All the wings will be great, I’m sure.

And....my irrational side is concerned that so many “pundits” are picking the Bills.  Nah, we got this!

Fresh peanut oil imparts no taste.  Five guys (and 90% of kitchens that cook fresh fries) use peanut oil exclusively.

But yes, people should use whatever oil they like or prefer.  Just make them wangs tasty!!

An artist has many methods, one just may be to have someone do the actual painting whilst one takes credit! The painting is still a masterpiece, that’s all that matters!

425??? What you cooking in grape seed oil? 350-375 with Sams Club Canola works just fine, as long as enough oil and enough space for each wing to have its “

    wiggle room”!

Peanut oil is the best frying oil there is, smoke point is 450°.  I’m sure canola oil at low temps “works fine”. I like my food and especially my wings to be better than “just fine”, but to each their own.

Most places will sacrifice quality for fast service.  They start with wet skinned wings, drop order after order without letting oil to come back up to temp, and then don't adjust timing to compensate for lower oil temp.  Thats my guess.  Never worked a day in the restaurant or bar business.

I’ve worked back of house for 15 years, everything from line cook to kitchen manager/executive chef. I would say it’s  more a combination  of rushing the orders out, cooking at too low of a temperature, and not using fresh oil.  Commercial gas fryers put out enough BTUs to not experience significant temperature drops even when dropping full baskets of frozen fish or fries.  Lots of places fry everything in 1 or 2 fryers, and most frozen food calls for temps of about 350°.  For a proper crispy wing you should really fry closer to 400°-425° and let it sit for at least a minute before saucing it.  Many kitchens also put cold sauce on hot wings, which is a recipe for a soggy wing.

    Just my two cents

So, in an era in which drug use in sports, including the NFL, was rampant-- you have singled out the Giants as particular offenders because... they "had the best supply of the highest quality being in NY in the 80s"?  The Bears didn't have the same quality of drugs to use?  How do you know this?

You said that current "people in the know" don't highly regard the Giants D back then ONLY because of drug use.  That's ridiculous.

Every team had a drug problem. Every team had a steroid problem.  Knowing all that, my questions remains...

Once again putting words into my mouth.  I didn’t say they were not held in high regard, the question was why are they not mentioned in the conversation as the best ever.

And yes, there are regional differences with all illicit drugs.  You think the marijuana found in Buffalo is the same quality as LA??  And again I stated drug REGIMEN, not just the quality.

Coke isn't really a performance enhancing drug, especially in the context of a couple hour long football game.

Um, not sure where you get your info, but for defenders, especially lineman and backers, it would 100% be performance enhancing.  Maybe not for a QB or WR where more fine motor skills are used.  Also have you heard of a key bump?  Coke is about the most discreet drug to use.  They certainly “recharged” at halftime but also likely on the sidelines.

Are you serious?  You think “people in the know” thought only the Giants players were doing coke and PEDS?  What planet are you from?

I’m from earth you miserable ass.  You asked a question and solicited peoples opinion.  I gave you mine and you gave me a snarky BS response.  “What do you think about xyz?  Oh, that’s stupid and your wrong.”  I’m sure you are a joy to be around this time of year, must just gotten some anthracite in your stocking I guess.

Back to your original question, I didn’t say they were the only ones doing it.  Was Barry Bonds the only player juicing up in Baseball??  No, but he had the best regimen/product/body response and became great because of them.  The giants had the most players juicing and hitting hard drugs right before the game.  Also had the best supply of the highest quality being in NY in the 80s.

  21. I believe people in the know (current and former coaches, players, and management) know that the team was taken to the next level with the assistance of heavy doses of blow, crack, and who knows how many steroids before testing was as accurate/performed as regularly/more difficult to cheat.  This is common knowledge and to me is the #1 reason they don’t get the same level of respect as the all time best defenses, especially in the “inner circle” of the NFL.
