Sammy would be a 1,500 yard receiver with Flacco and the Bills would be a playoff team.
Flacco isn't great but he would be good enough to put us over the top.
Not sure why you guys have so much trouble grasping this, but there is no QB on the planet that could have gotten Sammy 1500 yards. Why? Because he wasn't on the field.
And if Flacco, with Steve Smith Sr. and Mike Wallace (neither of whom even sniffed 1500 yards), couldn't get to the playoffs with a top ten defense, what in the world makes you think he could do it with a bottom ten defense and a bunch of practice squad receivers?

Either way, the base assumption of that "article" was clearly flawed, and if you agree with it, your opinion is equally flawed.
The fact that you referenced that article when you thought it supported your argument and then called it "flawed" when you realized your mistake really says everything about your ability to have a rational conversation about the matter.
Speculation based on facts aren't facts.
Never said they were. Deflecting is a pathetic tactic.
Lots of learning is being had today. This is good.
Funny. You don't seem to have learned a thing.
-
Know "the facts" and then you just blatantly pass off your speculation as facts?
Speculation based on facts is valuable. Speculation based on bias is not.

Got yourself, fam. That article is about TT being better than Flacco. This is why it helps to know the facts before jumping on board a crusade bandwagon.Got you, fam.
Maclin didn't choose Baltimore because Flacco is a better QB. He chose Baltimore, in part, because Flacco is a higher volume QB and Maclin will be the #1 WR there. Other considerations: his wife being from Baltimore, better contract offer.

I wonder if Trump is a bleu cheese or ranch guy. I'm guessing ranch.
Ketchup.

Sidney Crosby is a piece of human trash (on the ice). Go Preds.
Agreed. The Penguins get a ton of help from the NHL (see: Kunitz's cross check on Subban, matching minors in Game 5 for Crosby bouncing Subban's head off the ice repeatedly, no-goal in Game 1 followed by a 5-on-3 power play for two consecutive dives). Their road to the Cup is much easier because the rules don't apply to them. Sound like any other team you know?
!@#$ that. Go Preds.

Cant even come up with 3 games Tyrod performed well in? Sol blame it pon pot and bow out? See ya fair weathered fan
In 2016? Weeks 2,3,4,5,6,9,15,16.
Do you even know what a "fair weather fan" is? There haven't been any in these parts for a long, long time.
Also, I'm sure you thought you were clever when you were posting as two different people, but you quoted the wrong account in most of your posts. Kind of a dead giveaway, eh?

He's had great receivers for the two years he's been starting. He's also had one of the best running backs in football.
If Maclin were younger, I'd be all for this - with the belief that we'll have a new QB next year via the draft. Even if it's via FA, I'm confident that McBeano will upgrade at QB next year. I just think we're a couple seasons from being a legitimately good football team. And Maclin will be at the end of his career by then.
Hahaha. Absolutely clueless.
This is why you can't take the Tyrod haters seriously. No willingness to deal with reality.

Just to add substance...
Bob Woods had more receiving yards in 2016 than Maclin. Is it fair to say the Bills loss of Woods will make them win less games?
Losing Woods won't make us win fewer games in itself, but it definitely has a negative impact. Losing a #2 WR is not a death blow, but it's not trivial either.

So the "obvious" is we're looking at bargain basement guys as Kdiggs said, yet we have media reports that we hosted Barnidge. Got it.
Hosted him. Not offered him a $5 million contract. We have far too many holes to fill with little cap space to do so. Maybe the Bills are hoping they can get him cheap since teams will be wary of his age, or maybe they want leverage for a restructured contract with Clay. Whatever the reasons for his visit, we're not shelling out big money to get him.
-
Is your speaking with such authority based on inside knowledge, or just a desire to pass off your opinion as fact?
Love this argument. Someone must have inside knowledge to state the obvious these days.

Green Bay only gave up 30+ points 5 times, and they lost ALL of them.Playoff teams giving up 30+ ppg
NE 1
Mia 6
Pit 4
Hou 2
Kan 1
Oak 4
Dal 2
NYG 1
GB 7 (40+ 3x)
Det 4
Atl 7
Sea 3
I guess you can still make the playoffs giving up 30 ppg if you have a QB that can over come that.
Shootouts happen this day and age in the NFL either get a QB that can chuck it all over the place or be left behind.
Atlanta only gave up 30+ points 6 times. They lost two of those, and two of their four wins were against the Saints.
Miami only gave up 30+ points 5 times. They lost all of them except one. You know which one.
So, basically, you used incorrect data to try and prove that QB's could overcome a bad defense. In reality, they couldn't.
EDIT: Just for fun, I looked up the game that the Patriots gave up 30+. Yeah, Tom Brady lost that one too. So, in summary, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Ryan are garbage because they can't overcome 30+ points. Gotcha.

200 yards passing a game. So 3,200 passing yards if healthy.
He had 3,000 passing yards last year without Sammy and with arguably the worst receiving corps in the league. During the second half of the 2015 season, they were near the top of the league in QB/WR pairs.
I mean... Either you don't bother to actually inform yourself before making these inane comments, or you know the facts and just willfully ignore them.
-
See above: biggest issue is lack of targets when he's on the field. A relatively distant second is his availability.
Well... Not really. Being available is a prerequisite for getting targets.
I'm certainly not arguing with your point about Sammy being better than Stevie. That's obviously true. I just don't think a lack of targets is more of a detriment to his production than his injuries are. When he plays, he gets receptions (i.e more than zero). When he doesn't, he doesn't (i.e. zero).
-
1, hop, slide, throw. he did release it faster there (EXTREMELY RARE) but he had poor footwork. I'm talking about 1, 2, 3 (plant back foot), unleash it. he has never made a timing throw like that maybe in his life
That was a faster release than a standard dropback. Maybe you should focus a little more on the result.

Of 311 posts so far, how many are from LessThanMagicJeff? I don't remember a personal thread quite like this. Congrats!
Personal thread needs a personal theme song. I nominate "Whipping Post" since that's what I keep hearing in my head whenever Jeff opens his mouth and asks for more.
-
Go to the transplant thread where you can discuss Tyrod's greatness. As for me, wake me up when he passes for 300 yards in a regular game, wins more than 7 games in a year or beats someone good.
Hey, you're the one who wanted to talk about Vick. How many 300 yard games do you think he had? Don't get upset when I use your own argument to absolutely wreck your little crusade.
P.S. Andrew Luck and Drew Brees called and said winning is a team stat. They also told me not to whip you so hard that you literally turn into a broken record.
-
Vick came out of prison and no one expected much for a guy out of the league. Reid had him looking better than he did BEFORE prison! The Vick stuff was incredible QB coaching.
And yet, with that incredible QB coaching, Vick only matched Tyrod's passing stats one year out of his entire career. Most of his other years weren't even close.
And here's where you say, "yeah, but he added a lot more production with his running!"
And we say, "checkmate."
-
The only one being a little B word here is you. You can't take the truth about your loser mentally and supporting this team that does the same thing year after year. Your lucky we're not in the same room you would be missing a few teeth
It's really hard to look tough when you're about to burst into tears over a college football player.
Also, the hypocrisy of calling someone a little B word while doing nothing but whining and complaining is spot on.
-
Start a Alex Smith thread if you want. I find debating Tyrod's upside as tiring as when people wanted to debate if Ryan Fitzpatrick could take it to another level.
And yet you won't... stop... talking about it.
Do we have to start a new thread every time your tired arguments get trounced? That might push the bandwidth limits.
-
I understand the Logic Promo, that doesn't mean you blame the defense for the lack of production of the offense.
If you consider 31 points a "lack of production," there is really no reasoning with you. How do you justify giving up 34 points to an offense led by Matt Moore?
-
I get what you're saying, and my personal preference is always to find the Rogers/Brady type if I can (i.e. not the #1 overall guy)
My example was that if "the next Manning" type guy is entering the draft and some team that won 3 or 4 games is sitting there with the #1 pick, that team is NOT trading that chance.
Mahomes, RGIII, Wentz, Bridewater, etc. are not the same caliber of prospect.
If next year's class is a something like that group then I'd rather stand pat and hope to find one, rather than trade, to be honest.
If someone billed as the "Next Manning!" is coming out no amount of picks would ever be enough. The team with the #1 pick is taking him.
I agree with all of that. I just think next year's draft will have a few guys that are between a "Manning" and a "Wentz." That is, teams with high picks won't automatically draft these guys but they would still require a hefty ransom to trade their pick. If the Bills like one of those guys, I'd rather they be in a position to go and get him without crippling our future. With two first round picks, that becomes a lot easier.
-
that is very debatable.
Score more than once and the Ravens game that they lost by 6
Score first in OT against the Fins and the Bills WIN.
Don't give up the passing game vs the Raiders in the 2nd half with one of the worst passing defenses.
three games would = WC and playoffs.
The second two have nothing to do with Tyrod. And yes, I suppose if a quarterback scores more touchdowns, his team will win more games. That's not exactly rocket science. But it's not very relevant either. The question is: when the year is over and you're evaluating your strengths and weaknesses as a team, do you try and improve your top ten offense or your bottom ten defense first? Which will have more of an impact?
-
He played well in the second Miami game but the first one he struggled most of the game.
True, but he still had a better rating than Tannehill and rushed for a touchdown. And that still doesn't excuse the defense giving up 200 rushing yards to one guy.
